organizzata secondo i tre livelli: macro, meso, micro.
.. [a cura dell'Autore]This dissertation examines the topic of firm corruption from a Neo-Institutional
perspective. It deals with a framework for examining the issue of corruption, taking
into consideration both the network of contacts between firms and the institutional
context in which one or more organisations are situated. Hence, both micro- and
meso-enterprise groupings are emphasised.
The first chapter is a summary of the relevant literature. Starting with the notion of
the phenomenon, it is provided a classification of the main developments in the field,
organized at three levels: macro, meso, and micro.
The second chapter analyses the relationship between organisational isomorphism
and corruption. Unlike the majority of earlier studies on the subject, this chapter
examines both the public and private aspects of corruption. Specifically, it has been
explored how, in a context characterised by homogeneous pressures, firms' imitative
behaviour consists not just of corruption-related crimes, but also of crimes of
equivalent seriousness.
In the final chapter, the effects of firms offences on corporate market exits are
examined. It has been found, in particular, the existence of a relation between the
type and degree of corruption (public or private) and the decision of firms to exit the
market. .. [edited by Author]XXXV cicl
French and English languages in contact: The Chiac case
This study concerns the language variation and changes across Borders in a bilingual context: the Acadian
French in contact with North American English. In particular, it explores a specific linguistic idiom
called Chiac, a language variety of south-eastern New Brunswick (Canada), characterized by strong
English influence on the Acadian French substrate. Originally, it was spoken by bilingual teenagers in
Moncton, Canada, and it is based on Canadian French but it contains several English influences both
in words/morphemes and semantics/pragmatics. Through structural and lexical analysis, the study aims
at underlining the social factors that influence speakers’ choices and particularly those who use Chiac
as a communication language. In fact, it is recently spoken by a growing number of speakers not only by
teenagers. Variation and change across borders will represent a specific Weltanschauung in a bilingual
context where Canadian French is less and less important though it is protected by French speakers as
an identity status. Finally, some examples of lexical/phonological/phonetic/syntactic variations will be
presented in order to remark strong English influence on this Acadian French substrate in a sociolinguistic
perspective
Speaking (out) of Silence: The burden of womanhood in Christina Rossetti’s “Monna Innominata” and William Morris’s “The Defence of Guenevere”
An era punctuated by contradictions and uncertainty, the Middle Ages represented a powerful looking
glass for the flawed and highly duplicitous Victorian society. Deeply unhappy with the cultural and
aesthetic chaos resulting from the Industrial Revolution, it was not uncommon for Victorian writers to
use medievalism as a means to oppose the belief systems characterising their time. The main concern of
the essay resides in the ideological and thematic similarities in the medievalist poetry of two Victorian
authors: Christina Rossetti and William Morris. Despite them being barely acquainted, the poets
established a literary dialogue revolving around the dichotomy silence/sound and made use of analogous
strategies to resist the unjust confines and limitations enforced on women by nineteenth-century gender
politics. The paper aims to show how the burden of womanhood – a condition endured by Rossetti in
life and in art – prevented the poetess from overtly voicing criticism of the patriarchal literary tradition.
If William Morris, through his “Defence of Guenevere”, openly questioned conventions and succeeded
in articulating female desire, Rossetti, as it is shown by her “Monna Innominata”, found herself tangled in
the cultural attitudes of her time and had to mask what she was articulating. Through the voices of their
medieval heroines, which can still be heard today, both writers engaged in acts of critical ventriloquy to
overturn female passivity and to violate the code of feminine behaviour
A Reflection on and a Conversation about History, Memory, and Education at the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial
Dachau concentration camp was set up in March 1933. During the twelve years of its existence, more than 200,000 prisoners from over 40 nations were imprisoned here and in its sub-camps. At least 41,500 people died there from hunger, disease, torture, murder, and the consequences of their imprisonment. In her introduction, Kerstin Schwenke describes the history of the camp and the memorial site. The head of the Education Department at the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial also explains the educational approach used there. This is followed by a discussion with her and other members of the Education Department as well as U.S. public historian Marty Blatt on the educational work, graphic novels as well as politics of remembrance
anni Ottanta, inizio Novanta.
storico. The Banda della Uno Bianca was a highly active criminal organization in Bologna in the late 1980s and early
1990s. Their history and the theatrical representation staged in Bologna in 2023 will be examined. Additionally,
there will be a brief focus on the professional roles of journalists and historians
[a cura dell'Autore]The following research project aims to test and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of teaching methodologies and tools specifically designed by the University of Salerno in order to promote the development of Perspective Taking in students attending the Italian elementary school. In recent years, the topik of research has been deepened by many scientific fields - from neuroscience to psychology, from didactics to computer science - which agree in considering Perspective Taking a complex, multidimensional and transdisciplinary construct that requires a 360° analysis of the reference literature. Wanting to delimit the perimeter of the rich scientific literature that has been expressed on the subject, in this doctoral thesis, Perspective Taking means the cognitive ability to understand the point of view of others and at the same time, to explore space from different perspectives.
Numerous scientific evidence would seem to show that the ability to Perspective Taking is preparatory to the proper acquisition of the transversal skills of reading, writing and computing, STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) and social skills and investigate this construct under a "didactic" lens could be of great interest in order to promote the learning processes of everyone.
This proposal analyses the symbolic representation that were given to the nineteenth century Mexican woman as recreated by the costumbrist literature. Such analysis origi-nates from the study of social history, which provides us with a better understanding of said women as social subjects and their everyday coexistence within their social and working contexts, as depicted by Mexicans Portrayed by Themselves. This work was edited in 1854 and illustrated with lithographs showing women's working life as well as social customs and interpretations, which lead to the creation of ideals about the Mexican feminine model. These women, as subjects of this study, will be analyzed from different perspectives: attitudes, activities and house chores; which help the reader to recognize a typology of characters such as: la recamarera (the housekeeper), la casera(the housewife), la costurera (the dressmaker), la estanquillera (the street food vendor), la chiera (the fresh water seller), la partera (the midwife), la china (the girlfriend), and la coqueta (the flygirl).En esta propuesta se analizan las representaciones simbólicas que se le otorgaron a la mujer mexicana decimonónica recreadas por la literatura costumbrista.
