Full text linkIl contributo è inserito nella rubrica Il ParlaggioA partir del concepto inicial de la ciudad como un espacio del movimiento y la actividad indagamos cómo se percibe una ciudad que ha sido destruida por un terremoto, tal como la que se presenta en Nou fiuter. La educación sentimental de los muertos, obra escrita por el dramaturgo argentino Franco Calluso en el 2017. Si la ciudad se presenta aquí como un espacio de la muerte y la destrucción, ¿cuál es la posición de los que habitan esa ciudad? ¿Adónde los lleva su éxodo? ¿Cómo son sus interrelaciones en el nuevo espacio elegido? Finalmente, y teniendo en cuenta la particular estética absurda de este texto ¿cómo los vivos se relacionan con los muertos del terremoto? Con una foca lización en la problemática de la ciudad y las relaciones entre personajes, estas preguntas nos conducen a algunos de los parámetros desde donde nuestro trabajo adquiere sentido.From the initial concept of the city as a space of activity and movement, we point out how a city that has been destroyed by an earthquake, such as the one presented in Nou fiuter. La educacion sentimental de los muertos, written by the Argentinean playwright Franco Calluso in 2017, is perceived. If the city is presented here as a space of death and destruction, what is the position of those who inhabit that same city? Where does their exodus take them? What are their interrelationships like in the new chosen space? Finally, and taking into account the particular absurd aesthetic of this text, how do the living relate to the dead of the earthquake? With a focus on the problems of the city and the relationships between characters, these questions lead us to some of the parameters from which our work begins to develop

Full text linkIl contributo è inserito nella rubrica OdeporicaA partire dal 1921, Ugo Ojetti racconta nelle Cose viste il costume italiano attraverso ricostruzioni di luoghi, volti ed eventi significativi, delineando una personale galleria nella quale sono esposti ritratti di famosi personaggi e città d’arte. Il viaggio in Sicilia del maggio 1931 è documentato dallo stesso Ojetti negli articoli, apparsi sotto lo pseudonimo di Tantalo sul «Corriere della Sera» nel giugno del medesimo anno. In questo contributo sarà possibile analizzare l’immagine fornita da Ojetti della Sicilia degli anni Trenta, scissa tra luci e ombre, tra una classicità fastosa, di matrice dannunziana, e «una sdegnosa malinconia ch’è nel fondo dell’anima siciliana». Si sottolineerà altresì come l’esaltazione del passato glorioso e mitico della Sicilia e la scelta di non menzionare i problemi sociali ed economici che animano il territorio si pongano in continuità con le linee imposte dal regime fascista.Since 1921, Ugo Ojetti has been recounting Italian customs in Cose viste through reconstructions of significant places, faces and events, outlining a personal gallery in which portraits of famous personalities and cities of art are displayed. The trip to Sicily in May 1931 is documented by Ojetti himself in articles that appeared under the pseudonym of Tantalo in the «Corriere della Sera» in June of the same year. In this article, it will be possible to analyse Ojetti’s image of Sicily in the 1930s, split between light and shade, between a sumptuous classicism, of D’Annunzio matrix, and «a disdainful melancholy that is at the bottom of the Sicilian soul». It will also be emphasised how the exaltation of Sicily’s glorious and mythical past and the choice not to mention the social and economic problems that animate the territory are in continuity with the lines imposed by the fascist regime
Solo pallidi spettri d’alchimia. La genericità dell’apparato magico-alchemico nell’‘Argonautica’ di Angelo Ingegneri (1606)
Full text linkIl presente contributo tenta di tracciare il profilo magico-alchemico dell’Argonautica di Angelo Ingegneri, inquadrandone i riferimenti simbolici alla tradizione ermetica. Partendo da una breve disamina dello stato dell’alchimia rinascimentale, si tenta di leggere i versi dell’Ingegneri in chiave simbolica, come scopertamente l’autore stesso suggerisce di fare, per dedurne quanto profonda sia effettivamente la conoscenza esoterica del poeta e quanto radicalmente essa agisca nella configurazione dell’eroe e dei personaggi secondari: alla luce di questa disamina, il poemetto si lascia leggere come una generica e spesso superficiale messa in versi dei più noti concetti alchemici del tempo, presumibilmente giunti all’autore solo per via indiretta e metabolizzati poeticamente senza un reale approfondimento filosofico.This contribution attempts to outline the magical-alchemical profile of Angelo Ingegneri's Argonautica, situating its symbolic references within the Hermetic tradition. Beginning with a brief examination of the state of Renaissance alchemy, it aims to interpret Ingegneri's verses symbolically, as the author himself explicitly suggests, in order to ascertain the depth of the poet's esoteric knowledge and the extent to which it influences the configuration of the hero and secondary characters. In light of this analysis, the poem can be read as a general and often superficial versification of the most well-known alchemical concepts of the time, presumably received by the author only indirectly and poetically assimilated without genuine philosophical depth

Seismic behaviour of seismic-resilient steel moment-resisting frames equipped with damage-free self-centring column bases
Full text link2021 - 2022Recent destructive seismic events have underlined the need for increasing research efforts devoted to the development of innovative seismic-resilient structures able to reduce seismic-induced direct and indirect losses. For steel Moment Resisting Frames (MRFs), the inclusion of Friction Devices (FDs) in Beam-to-column Joints (BCJs) has been widely investigated as a viable solution to provide both high local ductility and energy dissipation capacity. However, it has been demonstrated that, although using FDs efficiently protects the BCJs’ components from local damage, global damage can still be observed in significant post-earthquake residual drifts. This issue has been tackled by several research works, introducing elastic restoring forces able to regulate the structure’s Self-Centring (SC) capability, having the main advantage of ensuring both the energy dissipation capacity and the SC behaviour of the structure.
However, although considerable attention has been given to define innovative technologies for BCJs, further research is still needed to define innovative configurations for Column Bases (CBs), which play a fundamental role in the seismic performance of steel MRFs, and their protection is paramount for the achievement of the structural resilience. In this context, an innovative Damage-Free Self-Centring Column Base (SC-CB) has been recently experimentally developed at the University of Salerno. It consists of a rocking column splice joint where a combination of FDs and PT bars with disk springs dissipates the seismic energy and promotes the connection's SC behaviour. Component tests of an isolated SC-CB specimen showed a good and stable flag-shaped hysteretic behaviour, demonstrating the advantages of this technology in terms of improved SC and energy dissipation capabilities. ..
