Historia pública y digital: una experiencia en torno al patrimonio histórico-educativo
Get PDFThis paper recounts the experience of the educational community of a
school that became actively involved in the recovery and exhibition of its historicaleducational heritage. More specifically, this experience, inspired by Public History and
Digital History, is based on the collaboration established between the University of the
Balearic Islands (Spain), the KU Leuven (Kortrijk, Belgium) and the Don Bosco Institute of Tournai (Tournai, Belgium). It all began with a request for collaboration that the
alumni association of the institute made to various researchers with the aim of preserving
and disseminating the valuable historical-educational heritage found in its archives. As a
result of this collaboration, a web page was created that presents the history and historical-educational heritage of the institute in question. Based on what was experienced and
observed by the researchers, in the conclusions section, the authors offer some reflections
on the possible influence that this type of historiographic exercise can have on community
cohesion in educational institutes, as well as on the reduction of the existing gap between
academia and society

This excellent text book anticipates where the field is headed internationally: cultural
heritage, people’s history, media, exposed past, digital public history, uses of the past,
teaching, civic engagement, etc., in connection between theory and practice, so we intend
to analyze a case study. In Spain, an example of Public History of Education are local and
provincial study centers. In the second half of the 1940s, the state promoted the creation
of local study centers and Houses of Culture in the capitals of Spanish provinces. Within
the CSIC, a new board was launched, named after José María Quadrado, and twenty-one
centers were organized in it in a first phase, mostly financed by the provincial councils

Get PDFNowadays, there is a growing interest in applying BIM (Building Information Modeling) technologies to cultural heritage and archaeological sites. These applications are at an early stage for archaeology, but relevant issues clearly arise from the adaptation of BIM, originally intended for AEC, to such a diverse field. To highlight these problems, three case studies from Veneto (Italy) have been examined: two protohistoric burial mounds in perishable material from Padua and Este, and a Roman city gate at Altinum. The paper highlights the main difficulties encountered during the elaboration process, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of using this specific tool. The aim is to reflect on the possibilities and reasons for the use of BIM in archaeology, and possibly to start a critical theoretical discussion about it

shared with the artist a passion for collecting, as
