    Get PDF
The application of recycled clay brick can not only solve the disposal problem of demolished solid waste but also reduce ecological environment damage caused by the excessive development of resources. The eco-friendly brick is made from recycled industrial waste materials, an environmentally and economically sustainable alternative to clay fired bricks. Several million tons of solid waste are produced each year due to construction and demolition activities world wide, and brick waste is one of the wide twastes

Experimental Investigation on Partial Replacement of Steel Slag as Fine and Coarse Aggregate in Concrete Blocks

    Get PDF
The Amount Of Steel Slag Consumed Annually Has Been Growing Progressively In Utilization. Consequently, Slag Waste Usage Has Become One Among The Main Challenges In Recent Times. The Management And Usage Of Slag Waste Is Speedily Growing Because It May Be A Valuable Resource Of Industries And Its Terribly Unsafe Substances And With Low Usage Rate. The Employment Of Slag Waste Materials May Be A Partial Answer To Environmental And Ecological Issues, Because The Use Of Plastic Waste Can Reduce The Mixture Value And Provides A Good Strength For The Structures. It\u27ll Reduces The Lowland Value And It Is Energy Saving. This Study Has Chosen Steel Slag Waste, To Analyse Its Potential Use As Slag Mixture In Concrete Application. The Waste Plastic Was Utilized In Concrete With Partial Replacement Of 21%, 23% And 25% By Volume Of Standard Coarse Aggregate. The Tests Were Conducted On Block Prepared With Course Aggregate, Fine Aggregate, Steel Slag, M-Sand, And Cement To Their Property I.E. Compressive Strength. 3 Varieties Of Concrete Specimens Each Type 3 Blocks, For Comparison Purpose, Were Ready. All The Concrete Specimens Were Tested For Its Completely Different Mechanical Properties After A Curing Period Of 7 Days. Moreover, It\u27s Complete That The Utilization Of Steel Slag In Concrete Provides Some Benefits Like Reduction Within The Use Of Standard Mixture, Disposal Of Wastes, Prevention Of Environmental Pollution, And Energy Saving

SUPERIOR RESPONSIBILITY FOR INTERNATIONAL CRIMES IN ETHIOPIAN CRIMINAL LAW

    Get PDF
This study aimed to assess the status of Superior/command responsibility in Ethiopian criminal law. For this purpose the international criminal law on the issue of SR, comparative criminal law, international as well as domestic cases and the Ethiopian criminal law are assessed. The study employed a doctrinal as well as qualitative approach. The assessments of the study show that: SR is a form of criminal responsibility that addresses the culpability of superiors who fail to prevent or punish their subordinates committing international crimes. It has been developed through customary international law. The justification for the development of SR in international criminal law was that low-level officials or military personnel often commit crimes because their superiors failed to prevent or repress them. The doctrine aimed at promoting compliance with international human rights law by obligating Superiors to curb the criminal acts of subordinates. This in turn promotes effective and merit based leadership. However, the doctrine of SR is not established in Ethiopian criminal law. It is not also practiced as customary international law. The absence of the doctrine of SR in the Ethiopian criminal law, cosseted the country a lot because while violation of human rights and commission of international crimes witnessed, no superior has been held criminally responsible based on the principles and elements of SR. All in all, as the study show, in the case of Ethiopia there is a legal gap on the issue of SR
