Die Praxisempfehlungen richten sich unter anderem an Kulturmittler:innen und Kulturschaffende, Wissenschaftler:innen, Politiker:innen und Verwaltungen auf der Bundes-, Länder- und kommunalen Ebene sowie auf Fachkräfte, die in Bildungseinrichtungen oder zivilgesellschaftlichen Organisationen tätig sind, aber auch an jene, die sich allgemein für Fragen des deutsch-chinesischen Austauschs interessieren. Überdies werden Perspektiven für einen konstruktiven Austausch mit chinesischen Einrichtungen aufgezeigt und konkrete Handlungsempfehlungen gegeben.
Ausgehend von den aktuellen Rahmenbedingungen für den deutsch-chinesischen kulturellen und wissenschaftlichen Austausch skizziert der Autor Herausforderungen, vor denen Akteure stehen. Überdies sollen Perspektiven für einen konstruktiven Austausch mit chinesischen Einrichtungen aufgezeigt, und Handlungsempfehlungen gegeben werden. Weiterführende Literatur sowie Hinweise auf Kompetenzorganisationen im Hinblick auf deutsch-chinesische Kooperationsbeziehungen komplettieren diesen Input

They have since been updated by their authors and edited for the British Council by Inherit.
Cultural Heritage for Inclusive Growth is a British Council action research programme which, since 2018, has been exploring ways in which local culture can improve the lives of individuals around the world.
The essays are published as part of the British Council’s What Works Cultural Heritage Protection programme which is designed to support better outcomes for cultural heritage protection and local communities by bringing the best available evidence and learning to practitioners and other decision makers across the international heritage protection sector.
Together, the essays explore the role of cultural heritage in a sustainable future, and the principles and approaches that can guide action to realise the potential of heritage for human development. From different perspectives, and with reference to examples from around the world, the essays look at major themes including people-centred approaches to heritage, and transparent, accountable and participatory governance
Prevention of Extremism through International Cultural Relations
No full textRadicalisation, violent extremism and transnational networks of extremist organisations, together with the ever-growing reach of social media, are increasingly gaining traction with more people. Preventive measures can increase the resilience of vulnerable people to radicalisation and attraction to violent extremist groups and their ideologies. They often even help radicalised individuals to reintegrate into society. This study examines selected cultural foreign relations and education policy projects for the Prevention of Violent Extremism (PVE), considering the regional political, social, and cultural contexts as well as the distinctive challenges in terms of specific target groups that are hard to reach. Projects in the following regions and countries are discussed: the Sahel; Afghanistan; the Al-Hol refugee camp in Syria; Egypt, and Tunisia. They include inter-regional projects for the MENA region and the Sahel. Recommendations for future foreign cultural relations and education policy projects are formulated
