NIRS Database on cooked freeze dried Sweetpotato for sugars at CIP, Uganda

    No full text
Spectra of 60 cooked, freeze dried and milled SP genotypes from Uganda 2019. 3-4 fresh roots per genotype were boiled, mixed, freeze dried, milled and then scanned and sent to CIAT. Reference analyse was delayed at CIAT nearly 1 year due to Covid 19 pandemic and were just available by November 2020

Instrumental textural data for Boiled Cassava in Uganda

    No full text
Cassava is often consumed in the boiled form in Africa, Asia and South America. The food product is easy to prepare by simply boiling in water. Most consumers prefer mealy, sufficiently soft, and easy to cook boiled cassava. This file contains instrumental textural data for Boiled Cassava that was collected by NaCCRI team in Uganda following standard operating procedure. The SOP describes the procedures for sampling, sample preparation, and measurement of texture parameters of boiled cassava using a texture analyzer

ASSET Practical Lexicon: An agroecology lexicon in Cambodia

    No full text
The overall objective of the ASSET Project is to transform food and agricultural systems in Southeast Asia more sustainable, safer and inclusive, through harnessing the potential of Agroecology. In this context, a joint workshop ASSET-ALiSEA was organized by GRET and CIRAD in Cambodia the 24th of November 2022. An agroecology lexicon composed of 20 concepts and 261 terms was constructed in the context of this workshop. This lexicon could be used for the knowledge hub associated with the ASSET Project. This dataset contains: - A presentation that summarizes the content of this workshop and the method used to construct these agroecology lexicons - The agroecology theoretical lexicon (TL) with terms validated - The agroecology practical lexicon (PL) co-constructed in Cambodia Results: - Theoretical lexicon (TL): 16 concepts with 331 terms - 210 terms manually validated in the Workshop - Practical lexicon (PL) constructed in Cambodia: 16 concepts (+ 4 concepts associated with the farming systems) with 261 terms. 181 terms come from the theoretical lexicon. <br

Weed diversity and forage potential in olive groves and vineyards from a French Mediterranean region

    No full text
The data set describes the weed species diversity and abundance, biomass production and quality in 16 vineyards and 16 olive groves along a pedoclimatic gradient in the French Mediterranean region (Occitanie) during the spring and fall of 2021. Leaf traits related to forage quality and digestibility were measured both at the species (n = 202) and the community (n = 305) levels. The data set includes a detailed description of pedoclimatic conditions and agricultural practices of all the surveyed fields

NIRS Database on milled Gari for Water Absorption Capacity, Bulk Density, Dispersibility, Titratable Acidity Calibrations at IITA, Nigeria

    No full text
The dataset contains spectra data obtained using XDS Rapid Content Analyzer (FOSS XDS, solid module) used for prediction of Water Absorption Capacity, Bulk Density, Dispersibility, and Titratable Acidity of milled gari

NIRS Database on intact fresh cassava for Dry Matter & Starch at IITA, Nigeria

    No full text
Cassava samples were havested in Ibadan at 8/25/2021 (20 genotypes) and Ikenne at 8/27/2021 (6 genotypes). Spectra of intact fresh pieces of cassava root, transverse position PT(proximal top), MT(middle top), MB(middle back) and AxB(axial back) was collected. DM and starch analysis were also done on the same sample pieces

Standardising field-based assessment of invasion degree: a case study in two habitats of Reunion Island

    No full text
The data comprise presence, cover and invasion rates of alien plant species and native plant cover in lowland tropical forest and subalpine vegetation (Mare Longue and Piton de Caille sites) in La Reunion. Abundance and diversity values are quantified among three vegetation strata (herbaceous, shrub and tree)

NIRS Calibration for DM, Starch, Amylose, Fructose, Glucose, Saccharaose, Solubility, Swelling power, RVA on raw freeze dried sweetpotato

    No full text
This database refers to 60 sweetpotato genotypes grown on two locations in Uganda in 2019 from the Mwanga Diversity Panel analyzed as dried ground material using a FOSS XDS spectrometer. Acquisition of spectra of 60 SP genotypes. 3-4 fresh roots per genotype were sliced, mixed, freeze dried and milled. Starch, amylose, solubility, swelling power, pasting time and temperature, peak viscosity, final viscosity, breakdown, setback, fructose, glucose, saccharose were analyzed and those reference data used for calibration development and validation

NIRS Calibration Database on raw freeze dried ground sweetpotato for Sensory Descriptors, Texture, DM, OCT & Water absorption at CIP Uganda

    No full text
The spectra were collected from 3 raw roots freeze dried and ground per genotype. To scan get the freese dried samples, each root was cut cross-sectionally across the mid-section, and immediately scanned with the cut surface facing the lens. After scanning, the root was sliced and stored at -20oC. After, they were freeze dried, milled and scanned in a cuvette, producing three spectra per genotype. Sensory data was collected by 12 trained panellists, who consumed small cubes of each cooked sweetpotato genotype and rated the overall liking of the samples on a 10-point hedonic scale ranging from 1 (dislike extremely) to 10 (like extremely), for each sensory trait per genotypes
