    Near infrared spectrometry allows the measurement of the absorbance or reflectance of the infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum of a sample whose composition one wishes to determine in part. If the principle is common to the various applications, the spectrum produced depends on the specific conditions of measurement and more particularly on the sample (e‧g. granulometry, moisture content), the environment (e‧g. temperature), the spectrometer (e‧g. model, brand, age) but also on the interaction between these 3 types of variables. If it is possible to minimize the influence of the product and the environment (i‧e. by standardizing the sample preparation and measurement conditions), the spectrum remains the product of the sample/spectrometer pair. This dependence of the calibration on the spectrometer on which the measurements have been performed limits the generality of the results and the possibilities of data exchange in the network. It imposes a fastidious work of standardization associated with a loss of precision as soon as the spectrometer park evolves, that the latter gets old or that the predictive model is used on another spectrometer, even from the same manufacturer. In order to increase the generality of the results, it is necessary to compare the evolution of the spectra of the same products on several spectrometers. The specific objective was to create and fill in a standard multi-machine and multi-product database in near infrared spectroscopy. Four repetition of 66 samples belonging to five sample types (e‧g. yam and cassava flour) were acquired on 8 different spectrometers (TANGO, Lab Spec 5000, LabSpec4, MicroNIR1, MicroNIR2, Quality Spec, NIRSystem5000, Camera FX17). A database of 2640 spectra was built. In the next periods, this database will allow to study the interoperability between measurement devices of the network, especially by using artificial intelligence (e‧g. generative adversial network, variational autoencoder)

    Purpose: The purpose of this dataset is to provide a high resolution map of available water content for Senegal and Gambia derived from 30m soil properties maps using the iSDA Africa dataset and the USDA Rosetta3 model. The map can be used to notably support spatialized crop simulation models to determine potential crop yields across West Africa. Nature and extent of data: The dataset consists of a high resolution map of plant available water content derived from four soil property datasets from iSDA Africa. The soil properties include sand, clay, silt and fine-earth bulk density, and were predicted at a 30m resolution for 0-20 cm and 20-50cm depth intervals. The USDA Rosetta model was used to compute soil water retention properties from four iSDA layers (sand, clay, silt content, and fine-earth bulk density), including the van Genuchten parameters of residual water content, saturated water content, 'alpha' shape parameter, 'n' shape parameter, and saturated hydraulic conductivity. From these parameters, the volumetric water content at field capacity and permanent wilting point was computed using the van Genuchten-Mualem model. The output map has been filled with nearest neighbor interpolation where NaN values were present. Finally, available water content integrated over the soil profile down to 50cm and to the bedrock depth was calculated. Location and coverage: The dataset covers the countries of Senegal and Gambia in West Africa at a 30m resolution. Temporal scope: The dataset was created using soil property data and models from iSDA Africa and USDA Rosetta3, respectively, and covers the temporal scope of the original datasets. Archive formats / unzipping: Some of the archive files are separated in multiple parts, as indicated by their numeral file extensions (i.e. *.001, *.002, etc). To unzip these files, please consider using an unzipping software such as 7zip, that will manage file concatenation and unzipping given that all parts are stored under the same folder in your file system.     The Indian Ocean plant-associated organism database is the result of the common work of the regional members of the PRPV network. PRPV is a regional network for plant protection in the South West Indian Ocean. The database records the reports of plant-associated viruses, bacteria, fungi and arthropods observed in the Comoros archipelago, Madagascar, Mauritius, Reunion and Seychelles. The PRPV database was created in 2008 and was released online in 2011. Mainly devoted to agricultural pests and beneficial organisms, it also contains observations from natural ecosystems. It is possible to extract lists of organisms by host plant and by country from the database. It is also possible to create maps from geo-referenced observations. The PRPV database also hosts taxonomic information and regulations related to the organisms inventoried. The database records are made by field practicioners and national agriculture extension services. The data undergo a scientific and administrative validation before being publicly accessible
