Participatory Processing Data on Matooke generated by NARL & Bioversity in Uganda
This dataset contains data generated during the Activity 4 or Step 3 - Participatory Processing Diagnosis and Quality Characteristics performed by the NARL & Bioversity team in Uganda on Matooke within the RTBfoods project (following the Methodological Guidance).
This dataset may contain diverse types of anonymized data (e‧g. questionnaires, processing parameters, cleaned and processed data) which is to be available on open access following a 2-years embargo after the end of the RTBfoods project (embargo ending date: 15 March 2025)
This dataset may also contain non-anonymized data (e‧g. raw data, consent forms signed by interviewees) which cannot be made publicly available, at any time; non-anonymized data is contained in the .tar‧gz file. NIRS Database on raw freeze dried sweetpotato at CIP, Uganda
Sweetpotatoe root samples havested in two locations in Uganda and processed in Namulonge at 11/2019 (60 genotypes). Up to 4 sweetpotatoe roots per genotype were cut longitudinal, sliced, mixed, freeze dried and milled before NIRS scanning

Table of results of participating laboratories in the Round-Tests on Stickiness Characterization Methods on cotton fibers organized by Cirad under the auspices of the ITMF-ICCTM
This table of results has been created to compile all available and individual data about cottons that have been used in inter-laboratory trial called round-tests (RT) that were performed over the years [2017:2022] with a goal of harmonizing results between instruments as well as between existing characterization methods. Up to 13 testing Methods and 53 participating laboratories have been participating in semesterly occurrences of the RT over the period under the auspices of the ITMF-ICCTM committee on stickiness measuring methods (Stickiness Task Force of the ’International Committee on Cotton Testing Methods’ of the ’International Textile Manufacturers Federation’). The main research idea behind this database is to check the relationship between results of any stickiness measurement Method and to propose harmonization steps toward some unified scale(s) of measurement

Analamanga, Itasy, Vakinankaratra - Madagascar - 2016-2017, Land cover map
The land use maps published here were produced for the municipalities studied by the DINAAMICC project during the period 2016-2017 (based on data previously collected by other projects). They cover the entire Itasy region and part of the Analamanga and Vakinankaratra regions.
This period was chosen for the availability of the field surveys needed to train and validate the algorithms for producing land cover maps. The data used are cited in the "Related datasets" category below. The choice of a simplified nomenclature divided into two hierarchical levels made it possible to create a database of 4,245 polygons.
The images used are the Sentinel-2 level 2A images distributed by THEIA acquired between September 2016 and June 2017.
Considering the distribution of the municipalities studied by the project, the available field surveys and the absence of very high spatial resolution images over the area during this period, it was decided to use the Iota² chain on 4 Sentinel-2 tiles.
The overall accuracy of the maps obtained is 87% for level 1 and 78% for level 2.

Les cartes d'occupation du sol diffusées ici ont été produites, sur les communes étudiées par le projet DINAAMICC sur la période 2016-2017 (à partir de données collectées antérieurement dans le cadre d’autres projets). Elles couvrent la totalité de la région Itasy et partiellement les régions Analamanga et Vakinankaratra.
Cette période a été choisie du fait de la disponibilité des relevés terrain nécessaires à l’entrainement et la validation des algorithmes de production de cartes d’occupation des sols. Les données mobilisées sont citées dans la catégorie "Related datasets" ci-dessous. Le choix d'une nomenclature simplifiée décomposée de 2 niveaux hiérarchiques, à permis de constituer une base de données de 4245 polygones.
Les images utilisées sont les Sentinel-2 de niveau 2A distribuées par THEIA acquises entre le 1er septembre 2016 et le 23 juin 2017.
Compte tenu de la répartition des communes étudiées par le projet, des relevés de terrain disponibles et de l'absence d’image à très haute résolution spatiale sur la zone pendant cette période, il a été décidé d'utiliser la chaine Iota² sur 4 tuiles Sentinel-2.
Les précisions globales des cartes obtenues sont de 87% pour le niveau 1 et 78% pour le niveau 2.

Application of biomolecular techniques on tsetse fly puparia for species identification
Experimental results and script for statistical analyses related to the paper entitled "Application of biomolecular techniques on tsetse fly puparia for species identification". The study investigated whether a reliable molecular identification of tsetse species can be made from DNA of puparia. We thus evaluated and compared the performance of five DNA extraction methods, selected as the most widely used in insect genetic studies, namely Chelex® 100 Resin, CTAB, Livak’s protocol, DEB + proteinase K and QIAamp® DNA Mini kit on lab-reared as well as field-collected puparia of varying ages. These data have been obtained at the CIRDES molecular laboratory between January 2019 and June 2020
NIRS Calibration Database on cooked mashed sweetpotato for Sensory Descriptors, Texture, DM, OCT & Water absorption at CIP Uganda
The spectra were collected from 3 cooked mashed roots.To scan cooked roots, 3 raw roots were cut cross-sectionally across the mid-section, and immediately cooked until ready. After cooking, each root was mashed on a plate, and the mashed potato was scanned in a cuvette, producing three spectra per genotype. Sensory data was collected by 12 trained panellists, who consumed small cubes of each cooked sweetpotato genotype and rated the overall liking of the samples on a 10-point hedonic scale ranging from 1 (dislike extremely) to 10 (like extremely), for each sensory trait per genotypes
Data for Moquet et al.: "Tri-trophic interactions among Fopius arisanus, Tephritid species and host plants suggest apparent competition"
We characterised the tri-trophic interactions between F. arisanus, fruit fly and host plant species. Data consists of :
- Number of insects emergence (fruit flies and parasitoids) in fruits sampled on the entire island of La Réunion before and after F. arisanus introduction (2000-2003 and 2004-2009) and after the B. dorsalis invasion (2018-2019).
- Results of choice test in laboratory, to analyse the preference of Fopius arisanus for fruit fly species and host plant specie
