    EURoot Barley

    No full text
The data come from the EURoot DB Information System (IS)(http://euroot.cirad.fr/euroot/JSP/index.jsp). EURoot DB is the database of the EURoot project "Enhancing resource uptake from roots under stress in cereal crops". It manages information on QTLs, genes and mutants involved in root growth under stress (drought, low N or low P) in barley, durum wheat, maize and rice. This project funded by the European Comission and coordinated by CIRAD began on 1 January 2012 and ended on 31 December 2015. It was the topic KBBE.2011.1.2-05 - Root signalling, growth and development under abiotic stress conditions of the FP7-KBBE - Specific Programme "Cooperation": Food, Agriculture and Biotechnology. 19 Participants from various jeuropean countries were involved in this project. The IS has a database per plant and the files of this dataset were extracted from the EURoot BARLEY database in tabulated text format. There is a file for each type of data which name includes the data type. Each line of a file has several columns describing the study (title, description, year, country, place, contact). Genes can be found in the EUROOT_barley_markers‧txt file. All publications concerning this dataset are recorded in the EUROOT_barley_references‧txt file

Mobility, behaviour and land-use data from GPS tracking and hidden Markov model training on cattle herds in Sahel agropastoral systems

    No full text
Contains positional, behavioural and environmental data for cattle herds in West Africa. (Illustration from the related publication) Extent of the data The dataset contains tracking data from 15 collars, fitted on 21 Zebus of the Gobra breed in 19 transhumant and resident herds. Observations were recorded every 30 minutes, between May 2021 and December 2023. Three seasons of transhumance from the home-villages in the Niakhar area, to the outskirts of Tambacounda and the Ferlo region were recorded. Data description Each observation contains recorded (R) and computed (C) information. - Identification of the collar and animal Trajectory data: - Positional information (R): longitude, latitude, altitude and timestamp - Dilution of precision of the point (R) - Distance to the previous point (C) - Angle between the trajectories from the previous point and to the next (C) Behavioural data: - Activity state the herd is in, as estimated by the HMM (C) Environmental data: - Temperature of the air, as recorded by the collar (R) - Ongoing season (cold dry season: November – February, warm dry season: March – May, rainy season: June – October) (C) - Whether it is daytime or nighttime, based on the sunset and sunrise time (C) - Soil occupation data from the coarse, Globcover dataset (C) Data collection Raw GPS and accelerometer data were collected using Vertex Lite GPS Collars (see below). Behavioural activity was inferred using a hidden Markov model, the Viterbi algorithm, a non-linear minimisation algorithm and parameter sampling, as described in the related publication (DOI). Data preparation and analysis was conducted using the HAMAC routine (https://gitlab.cirad.fr/selmet/hamac) and the moveHMM R package (https://doi.org/10.1111%2F2041-210X.12578).<br

Martinique daily interpolated rainfall, 1980-2021, obtained via ordinary kriging

    No full text
Description: This dataset provides daily interpolated rainfall maps for Martinique island, for the period 1980-2021, at 0.001° resolution, derived from daily rain gauge data observations. Dataset Preparation Methods: These maps were obtained by performing interpolation from daily rain gauge data (Martinique ORSTOM-DIREN dataset v1 doi:10.5281/zenodo.10263910), using ordinary kriging with fitting of Exponential variogram models. Resolution of interpolation is 0.001°. The daily results were assembled into yearly netCDF files. Funding: This project did not receive any funding. Authors Contributions: - Data treatment: Jérémy Lavarenne - Documentation: Jérémy Lavarenne Changelog: - v1 : initial submission</p

Risk assessment of HPAI H5 viruses spread within French broiler and layer production networks

    No full text
This repository contains data and script to assess the risk of highly pathogenic avian influenza H5 viruses within the French broiler production networks. After drawing up a scenario tree of virus transmission from one farm to another, data were collected through a literature review or through experts’ elicitation. Three questionnaires were developed according to the experts’ field of expertise: avian influenza, broiler and layer sectors. The dataset provide the data ready for analysis and the scripts used to combined the data. The experts’ estimates were combined using a beta distribution weighted by their confidence level. A Monte Carlo iteration process was used to combine the different probabilities of the scenario tree and to assess the transmission risk

Dataset on the effect of organic farming on microbial and macrofaunal litter decomposition in banana fields

    No full text
[EN] Data from a field experiment in the banana agroecosystems of Martinique (Lesser Antilles). Six organic and six conventional banana plantations located in two bioclimatic zones of the island were studied. To measure the microbial and macrofaunal contribution to decomposition, 264 bags of small- and large-mesh litter were placed and left in the field for three months. The chemical composition and decomposition of glyphosate-contaminated and glyphosate-free banana leaf litter were studied. Biotic (plant cover, abundance and composition of detritivorous macrofauna) and abiotic (microclimatic variables) characteristics were also measured

A dataset of yield and morphology traits of a large collection of plantain variety (Musa accuminata x Musa balbisiana)

    No full text
This dataset describes 135 varieties of plantains cultivated in non-limiting nutritional conditions, as a varietal collection, in the CARBAP research station (Cameroun). The dataset includes : 1 data dictionary and 1 data file. Each variety was replicated 5 times and monitored for 5 cycles. Growth parameters (height and girth circonference) were observed monthly on the first cycle and at flowering for the following cycles. Leaf area of some remarkable leaves were measured at cycles 1, 3, 4 and 5 and enabled to calculate the plant total leaf area for the cycles 3 to 5. The data file also includes intervals related to plant phenology in days an in degree-days for the 5 cycles and yield components for the 5 cycles. Finally, observations on the ratoon in cycle 2 to 5 are available
