Mentor: Dr.sc.Sejdi SejdiuIt is a fact that nominal phrases are a crucial part of natural language. However, noun phrases are known for exhibiting extremely complex structure in many cases. Given to this fact, it is also important to consider semantic relationships among the words that serve as premodifiers in nominal phrases. Despite the fact that pronominal modifiers are often marked by explicit semantic and lexical clues – in nominal phrase that are premodified with one or few premodifiers. Nevertheless, when students of English as foreign language, study complex nominal phrases - that exhibit a string of premodifiers, the clues appear to be vague – unless we manage to clearly divide them into zones of premodification. The importance of nominal phrases and nominal premodifiers has already been well-established due to their commonness in one hand and their complexity on the other. Nonetheless, herein – I have in addition sought further explanation for the order of the premodifiers in English nominal phrase. Moreover, the aim of this thesis is to truly attempt the validity of rather divergent explanations suggested by well-renowned authorities in English linguistics. The method employed in this thesis was to conduct a wide survey of English nominal phrases that I could collect from many varieties and registers of English. However, I have focused my research on nominal phrases that, by observation, exhibit a long string of premodifiers, and then analyze the order of premodifiers at all levels, including semantics, pragmatics, syntax, etc., for the purpose of ascertaining the accuracy of the gained results against the one hundred million word British National Corpus. Based on the conducted research, this thesis suggests how the elements of the approaches - used in the past by the recognized academicians – can be integrated into a comprehensible scholarly explanation, and offers a new and important element that may bridge the gaps found in previous explanations. Namely, that the words’ semantic structure, which indeed is a combination of various types and dimensions of meaning – that builds up the sense of each premodifier. The new elements included in this research are nominal phrases that are nominal phrases that are premodified by a long string or long groups of nominal premodifiers – up to ten words that enabled me to analyze them and attempt to ascertain why premodifiers occur regularly in various positions in the order. Moreover, I have sought to explain also the historical development of premodifier order in English nominal phrases

Master Thesis. Mentor: Prof. asoc. dr. Ibrahim BerishaOur focus in this paper is to unveil narration within print journalism in Kosovo without going into extensive media environment that today exists. We are aware that narrative journalism has different forms and is widespread in many dimensions of journalistic writing.Depending on the talent and creativity of the author who makes his intellectual production public through the media, the narrative takes form in journalistic texts through language and those non-language tools, such as photography, cartoons, design and other visual tools etc. Journalistic environment that draws narration, we will understand in this paper, there is not only the conventional one, expressed only through a newspaper to print, but is also environment called "Online" which is expressed through the Internet and is not conditioned by letters. Narration as a direct manifestation in journalism starts in the headlines of a newspaper, where together provide the “narrative” of the total, within a space of time on what is happening, and extends on the extraordinary events, those opinion makers, social and political in curiosities and interesting stories that start from the facts of everyday life and are preceived as impressive tales. The wall between the news and the story about it, then opinion, expression of feelings, descriptions, etc. within a period of time, are issues that we have arisen to explore in this paper. Then the extent of narratiion in many areas of everyday life goes through a “watching” journalist to give us reasoned stories, will be some of the topics that we will provide. Relations between art literature and writing journalism focusing on their grounds, on the one hand, on the imaginative ground that literature has, on the other hand, in the stage of documenting the events that journalism has, will also be part of this study. A columnist article doing the commentary of alarming figures of deaths and injuries in traffic and gives his opinion on this situation. This article reinforces that part of the narration that starts from the cover of the newspaper and leaves the reader still inside the surface of the week’s topic. In this way the problem still remains, but this time on an commentary opinion adding here and there the new information, as for example when the author tells about the level of knowledge of traffic rules to children, says: When we the pedestrians, and the researches in the field go to concerning conclusions about the level of knowledge of children to behavior rules in traffic. The narrative on this issue remains current in an interview. Thus, we have an interview with the headline: Krasniqi: Government should not confine itself with the citing of the statistics of accidents. The reader receives information from the angle of the professional field, after the interviewer, according to the note at the beginning of the interview, is expert for road traffic. The narration here is filled with arguments and opens debate, perhaps the reader will take as tips for citizen awareness about the problem. But for us it is important that within that number is gradually achieved that this problem remains within the sphere of special interest, this time on an expert opinion. Another article titled: The scary street of "Kodra e Trimave" is a report from a country where, according to the report, there have been many accidents. Here narration is further developed. The report begins with an emotional presentation describing the words of a citizen for her testimony in the place of the accident. This report is interesting because in addition to several witnesses of the events of accidents, transmits to the reader the painful feelings and descriptions. Even this report completes the story picture with other events, ranging from those how the events of accident traffic have happened up to the emergence of emotions as for example when the author cites a witness: "There was big crack as if NATO got in ". Also, to picture is added additional information on how citizens send their children to school with a companion. For this, the author quotes a citizen who said: "For children is the worst. We send our children to school, and we take them from school which is very difficult”. The reconstructed picture of the story before, if we add this article too, the reader except feelings mentioned earlier, in his confession it can be added those following parts: People feel pain and fear. In fact, they even can not send children to school unaccompanied. We saw that each of the writings, on the paper met the picture of a confession, filled with information and confessed feelings and emotions. When these mini stories come together, coming as a result of reading from a careful reader, the narration is filled and creates a kind of wall between factual information and the story of the narrated events. Thus the reader is between two different perceptions, on one side is filled with information about the problem of accidents in traffic, with professional documentations and opinions, with evidence of people and their experiences, and on the other hand, has followed a linear line of the story in between all this, has read a story in a form that is disconnected from all of this information and report. This is a narrative type facing a problematic set up as separate, unique and important agenda, from a media newsroom

Mentor: Dr.Sc. Beslim LEKIQIAfter a long work, over a year, treating different materials from secondary resources and primary resources we can get concrete conclusions regarding the role of the department of human resources in bank, and also its impact in the development of the banking sector in our country. Master thesis is concretized in form of the important and exploratory project with the following title. The role of the human resources in the development of the bank- study case the NLB Prishtina bank. This paper approaches the research of a complex problem as it is the definition of the role of human resources in bank respectively in the department of human resources as a study case the NLB Prishtina bank. The methodology that is used in this research is the heuristic method. The research starts with the theoretical part where are included different theories of the management of human resources narrowing to the specific issues as it is the role and the impact of the human resources in NLB Prishtina bank. In this case the purpose of this research is to identify the role of human resources in bank. Empiric research is developed in that way that with questionnaires have been interviewed the general director of the human resources department in NLB Prishtina bank, and also the seven directors of the main centers of the NLB Prishtina bank, in the territory of the republic of Kosovo. While the second part is provided through the research of the author which has been developed through the questionnaire that’s been directly submitted to the respondents. I think that the results of this study are a modest contribution regarding this wide field, as it is the management of human resources and they can help the managers of this bank (NLB Prishtina). We think that the results and arguments of this study, can and should be the subject of debates and further studies in this field. In conclusion of this research paper we can say that the journey that send us in a more effective use of methods of the management of human resources in the bank sector, are the conviction and the education of the leading managers of these bank branches, for the importance and necessity of this managerial function

The influence of Albanian history, politics and economy on English language teaching

    Get PDF
Learning a foreign language in Albania has been determined by many historical, political and economical factors. However, there is little written material about this important feature of foreign language learning in Albania. This paper aims at informing the reader about the main phases Albanian education in general has gone through and that have led to the present state of the Albanian schools. The history of Albanian education has not been an easy one. Albania has suffered many invasions from other countries as well as the worst of dictatorships after independence and these historical features have had a very regressive impact on the development of Albanian education. Being part of the Albanian struggling for improvement of schools and education in general, English language teaching has reflected the consequences of this historical and political background. I argue that, although Albanians worshiped knowledge and education, it was often impossible for them to obtain proper education and sometimes it was unreachable for them, as dictatorship aimed at keeping people in the dark by preventing them from reading, watching, listening to any foreign material that had not been politically controlled before. Nevertheless, Albanian democratic governments have acknowledged the importance of foreign languages, especially English, and have been making continuous efforts to improve the situation of foreign language teaching in Albania in order to modernize and bring it on the same level with other Western foreign language teaching
