    Satisfaction of financial support and determination of students in learning at UM Peñaplata college

    The study was conducted to determine the Satisfaction of Financial Support and the Determination of Students in Learning at UM Peñaplata College. in this study, a quantitative descriptive correlation research design was used. The statistical tools used in the study were mean, Pearson-r and regression analysis. The data was gathered through survey questionnaires and distributed to 202 Bachelor of Science in Business Administration students majoring in Financial Management at UM Peñaplata College. The result showed that satisfaction with financial support generated a high mean score and showed that they were satisfied. At the same time, students' determination to learn had a high mean score and showed that the items were apparent. Moreover, a significant relationship existed between the satisfaction of financial support and the determination of students to learn. Lastly, the indicator of financial support, which is spending wisely, significantly influences the determination of student to learn

    Rice hull ash as fire retardant coating material based on composite biodegradable starch

    In Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree Bachelor of Science in Civil EngineeringRice Hull Ash (RHA) is an agricultural waste byproduct. Starch is a carbohydrate primarily found in corn, cassava, and potatoes. Fire-retardants are chemicals or mixtures mixed into or covered in concrete and wood materials to improve their fire-resistance qualities. The importance of having fire-retardant properties in a material primarily used in our homes has not significantly impacted the substances that cover wood-based materials for smooth finishes. This study aims to investigate if the effect of Rice Hull Ash on Composite Biodegradable Starch significantly increases Fire-Retardancy. The performance of an RHA-starch combination as a coating material was examined experimentally, and the results are presented in this research. This study also investigated how RHA-starch mixture prevention affected the mechanical properties of plywood and concrete. These 4 sets of samples, each with a 7-day curing time, were tested for compressive strength and splitting tensile strength. For the plywood, three groups were applied with a 2 mm thickness and left to cure for seven days. The endurance test on plywood successfully increased the time it took to prevent the spread of fire among the other groups. The sample coated with the RHA- starch mixture had the most excellent tensile strength findings from the group undertaking the Fire-Endurance Test. In contrast, the compressive strength among the groups was comparable. The information gathered suggests that using an RHA-starch mixture as a coating material for wood and concrete has much potential as an organic material

    Operational skills and business performance of selected micro enterprises in Babak Disctrict, Island Garden City of Samal

    The study was conducted to determine the level of operational skills and business performance of selected micro business in Babak. the study was a quantitative descriptive correlational research design. the statistical tools used in the study were weighted average mean, Pearson r and regression. The data was gathered through the use of survey questionnaires and was distributed to 324 businesses in Babak, IGACOS. The result showed that the operational skills of business generated a high mean score of 3.57 and revealed that the operational skills were noticeable. Similarly, the business performance had a high mean score of 3.69 and revealed that business performance was important. Moreover, there was a significant relationship between operational skills and business performance. Since it revealed that all of the stated indicators had a descriptive level of high, selected micro businesses in Babak, Island Garden City of Samal should continue or practice their operational skills for them to have a higher business performance and operate in the always-changing environment of business industry

    The primary objective of the field of recreation is to enhance the physical and mental well-being of its participants through engaging in activities that promote the health of both the body and mind. Humans get a sense of tranquility and serenity when they are immersed in natural surroundings. The exploration of nature's ability to restore has been ongoing since the 1980s, leading to the development of Restorative Environmental Design, which encompasses two main aspects: sustainability and biophilia. Although sustainability has played a role in reducing environmental harm, biophilia emphasizes nature-inspired designs and connections that promote the well-being and health of individuals. Edward O. Wilson's research on biophilia has become increasingly prominent due to his investigation of the inherent bond between humans and the natural environment. Given that most recreational locations are nature-oriented, this study has chosen to focus on a recreational facility as its research site. The Mati City Sports Complex was chosen as the designated region for this case study. The primary goal is to assess the 14 Patterns of Biophilic Design presented by Terrapin Bright Green. In-order to accomplish this goal, the survey findings are being disseminated to the participants together with illustrative instances to prevent any ambiguity throughout the assessment process. This study employs a quantitative methodology to assess the mentioned facility. The results provide information on the presence of the 14 patterns, distinguishing between those that occur naturally and those that are simulated or created. This study will also contribute more insights for future inquiries

    The performance of talahib (saccharum spontaneum) grass with polyester resin particle

    in Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree of Bachelor of Science in Civil EngineeringThis research evaluated the performance of a particle board made from talahib grass (Saccharum spontaneum) and polyester resin as a binding agent. Following the guidelines established by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), the board's physical (density, water absorption, thickness swelling, and flammability) and mechanical (modulus of rupture and modulus of elasticity) qualities were evaluated. This research also compared the results to the existing particle board in the market and performed a cost analysis. According to the results, the talahib grass particle board is 19% more expensive than the market price of medium-density particle board. The physical properties of the board revealed that the density and water absorption were significantly higher than the typical medium-density board, with an optimum value of 1204.44 kg/m3 and 1.47%, respectively. While the thickness swelling test results show no significant change, the flammability test results show that the board was less susceptible to re due to the lower weight loss. In terms of mechanical properties, the board's Modulus of Rupture (MOR) is much higher than that of a typical medium-density board, with an optimum value of 52.02Mpa. At the same time, the Modulus of Elasticity (MOE) does not meet any particle board standards. Conclusively, as the study shows that the talahib grass significantly impacts the board's physical and mechanical quality, it was also suitable for manufacturing the particle board

    Influence of environmental initiatives and perceived consumption value on guests intention to return in hospitality industries

    In Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree of Master in ManagementThe primary purpose of this study was to determine if there were domains of environmental initiatives and perceived consumption value that significantly influence the guests' intention to return to the hospitality industries of Davao del Norte. This study employed quantitative, non-experimental research utilizing correlational techniques. This study used a convenience sampling technique. The respondents were the guests of the hospitality industries in Davao del Norte Province, with a total of 272 guests. The number of respondents was determined through Slovin's formula. The researcher utilized an adapted and modified questionnaire as the instrument to gather data. Meanwhile, to interpret the data, statistical tools such as Mean, Pearson-r, and Multiple Regression Analysis were used. Results of the study revealed that the level of Environmental Initiatives, Perceived Consumption Value, and guest intention to return are all very high. Also, the result concluded that there is a positive correlation between environmental initiatives, perceived consumption value, and guest intention to return. Further, there are domains of environmental initiatives that significantly influence guests' intention to return, namely: general green practices, water conservation strategies, energy conservation strategies, waste management practices, purchasing practices, and logistics practices. Lastly, there are also domains of perceived consumption value that influence guests' intention to return, and these are: Functional, Social, and Emotional values.647.94xi, 62 page

    Thermal insulating material for ceiling based on the synergy of natural corn husks and sap-containing absorbent pad fibers

    In Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree Bachelor of Science in Civil EngineeringInsulating materials or insulators are materials that lessen or stop the flow of heat through them. Corn husks (CH) were recognized as suitable thermal insulators because they showed outstanding potential for thermal characteristics. Absorbent pads contain superabsorbent polymers (SAPs) called Sodium Polyacrylate that can store 600 times their weight in water and, merged with various porous fibers, may have a synergistic effect on improved thermal resistance. This study aims for the corn husk mixed with an absorbent pad, which may be utilized as a thermal insulation medium. The ratios between absorbent pads and corn husk are 30g AP: 30g CH for 1:1, 20g AP: 40g CH for 1:2, and 40g AP: 20g for 2:1. Procedure of thermal conductivity and resistance, burning rate, and tensile strength are based on the Thermal Testing of Building Insulation Materials by Frawley and Kennedy, ASTM-D1929, and ASTM-D3039, respectively. Results from the study show that the 1:2 ratio has the lowest thermal conductivity (0.533 W/mK), highest thermal resistance (0.465 K/W), and lowest burning rate (1.26 in/min) among the three specimens. In contrast, the 1:1 ratio shows the highest tensile strength. The study's findings show that among the three different specimen ratios, the thermal insulating material composed of 20g of the absorbent pad and 40g of corn husk offers the best thermal properties compared to others

    Identification of parasites on the external body surface of Musca Domestica (housefly) at Bankerohan Public Market, Davao city

    In Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree in Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory ScienceThis study aims to identify parasites on Musca domestica (house flies) located from the external body surface collected from the public market of Bankerohan, Davao City. This study presents quantitative experimental-based research, and the research subjects are houseflies. The data generated in the experimental research will be explained, analyzed, and interpreted using the Descriptive analysis through frequency and percentage of the result. A total of 100 fly samples were gathered in this study. Specifically, 58 samples were identified as Musca domestica and thus, examined for parasite identification using the sedimentation technique and interpreted based on their specific type of parasite. Nonetheless, the remaining 42 samples were disregarded since the interpretation will focus on 58 identified samples. The findings of the identified parasites are only three (5.2%) and recognized as Entamoeba histolytica, whereas the no ova or parasite seen is 55 (94.8%). Furthermore, it demonstrates that houseflies carry and harbor parasites on their bodies and transmit parasitic diseases to the community through the fecal-oral route. Therefore, the parasitic load is not just seen on the internal bodies of houseflies but can also be evident on the external body surface. Key factors influencing the continual parasite contamination of houseflies include the need for enhanced personal hygiene and environmental sanitation, lowering the possibility of houseflies spreading infections. The researchers also recommend biological control of houseflies, such as traps and fly control, which will help eradicate the houseflies prevalent in open-air defecation in the public market

Hence, most of us engaged in selling and establishing sari-sari stores. It is easier to make money by buying and selling goods and services. According to previous literature, pricing strategies are widely used in businesses, particularly in the retail industry, to boost sales and gain market share. Sari-sari stores are a part of everyday life in the Philippines, both in rural and urban areas. Knowing how easy for an individual to establish and start operating the sari-sari store, the competition in this form of business is evident. In the retail industry, product pricing is essential (Hill 2013). That is why setting a pricing method is necessary to outperform competitors while also maximizing profit. This study aims to discover what pricing methods sari-sari store owners employ, resulting in the development of fifteen distinct themes and highlighting the challenges they faced and how they dealt with those challenges and providing insights on how to improve pricing strategies to gain a competitive advantage over other stores.viii, 63 page
