    Youth financial literacy of business administration students of UM Peñaplata College

    The study aimed was to assess the level of youth financial literacy of business administration students of UM Peñaplata College. This study used a quantitative research method with descriptive-comparative approach to further examine the level of youth financial literacy of the students. In addition, a random sampling technique was used to identify the research respondents to avoid manipulation and biases. Thus, mean T-test and ANOVA were the statistical tools used in the study. To gather the necessary data, an adapted questionnaire was used to address the research objectives. This questionnaire was validated and approved by the experts. Moreover, results shows that students form Bachelor of Science in Business Administration attained a moderate level of financial literacy. On the other hand, gender has no significant difference on student's level of financial literacy. Meanwhile, student's year level revealed a significant difference in their level of financial literacy. Furthermore, the findings of this study suggest prioritizing teachings and programs related to finances to enhance and improve the students' financial skills which is applicable in real-life contexts

    Clickbait advertising and purchase behavior of selected young consumers in Davao City

    In Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Marketing Managementsignificant component influencing a consumer's purchase choice is the advertising that appears on various social media sites. Clickbait advertising, a type of advertising that seeks to get consumers to click on a headline, is a marketing tactic often employed nowadays. This study aimed to determine the influence of clickbait advertising on the purchasing behavior of young consumers. A descriptive approach was used to determine the influence of clickbait advertising and the purchase behavior of young consumers in this study. In addition, researchers used an adapted questionnaire. Spearman's rho, mean, and standard deviation were utilized to analyze the data statistically. The study found that young consumers generally feel neutral about the visual and psychological effects of clickbait advertising on their purchasing behavior. While they agree that their personal preferences influence what they buy, they are neutral about whether their purchasing decisions are influenced by their financial situation. However, the study also discovered that clickbait advertising does not seem to affect consumers' overall purchasing decisions. This implies that consumers are not influenced to make purchases when exposed to clickbait advertising

    Environmental consciousness and effective waste management practices in Toril Elementary School

    The study aimed to determine the significant relationship between environmental consciousness and waste management practices of elementary students in Toril Elementary School. A descriptive survey research design was used in this study, a total of one hundred fifty-two respondents were determined using total population sampling. The essential data were gathered using the adapted and modified questionnaires. Mean and Pearson Product Moment Correlation were utilized as the study's statistical tool. Results showed that the environmental consciousness of students is very high, thus, waste management practices is also very high. The result indicated that the environmental consciousness was insignificantly related to waste management practices. Hence, it is recommended to provide opportunities to enhance their understanding of waste segregation and eco-conscious behavior to create a generation that prioritizes responsible waste management and environmental well-being

    Teaching students with stuttering as speaking disfluency: A phenomenological study

    This qualitative-phenomenological study seeks to explore the experiences of English teachers regarding students' stuttering as disfluency in the classroom in the Mambago-B National High School. Six English teachers participated in a semi-structured in-depth interview (IDI). Participants' teaching experiences toward learners who stuttered revealed three themes, including limited class participation, difficulty in teaching and communication, and reluctance to remediation. From their coping strategies emerged three themes comprising a supportive teaching-learning environment, adaptive instruction, and peer consultation. Their insights showed three themes consisting of a supportive environment, self-empowerment, and a speaking-focused curriculum of a supportive environment, and a speaking-focused curriculum. The results implied that English teachers need to develop strategies to involve students in speaking activities to enhance their speaking skills and alleviate their stuttering problems in the classroom

    Every Mindanao ethnic group uses the ensemble chime gong known as kulintang. The kulintang is one of the highly valued by all ethnic groups because it is an important component of their culture. The typical kulintang today consist of eight gongs, ranging in size from largest to smallest. From lowest to highest, these gongs are stacked on top of the wooden rack that is braced with strong strings. The kulintang, a musical instrument used by several ethnic groups in Mindanao, has a unique, constructed sound. The majority of kulintang playing happened during occasions, including weddings, ceremonies, contest, festivals, and entertainment. Despite the fact that kulintang has continued to thrive over the years and that each ethnic group has its own method of preservation, young people are losing interest. The purpose of this artistic and academic research is to ascertain the factors that led the young Kagan to lose interest in kulintang playing. As a result, the researcher is concentrating on Kagan group, particularly the young people. The study is useful because it informs everyone that is possible for a person's interest to fade over time. The study's objective is to name, identify, and acknowledge the significance of Kagan cultural practices, particularly in kulintang playing. In order to convey the significance of kulintang, the researcher plans to produce both data and real-life replica of an artwork that doesn't produce the same sound as the original

    Risk management and financial sustainability among owners of business establishments along shoreline in Cagangohan Panabo City

    This study aimed to determine the relationship between risk management and financial sustainability among business establishments along shoreline in Cagangohan Panabo City. The respondents of this research were 48 business establishments owner. The independent variable is risk management while financial sustainability is identified as the dependent variable. In the independent variable, the indicators are the risk identification, risk evaluation, and risk monitoring. The overall mean of Independent Variable is 4.13 it means that the level of risk management was high. While, the Dependent Variable is 3.94 it means that the level of financial sustainability was high. The researchers used a quantitative, non-experimental correlation design to investigate the significant relationship between risk management and financial sustainability. The statistical methods used in the study were weighted mean and Pearson-r. The computed r-value is 0.706 and is associated with a p-value of 0.000, less than 0.05. It means that the null hypothesis is rejected. Consequently, it is concluded that there is a significant relationship between risk management and financial sustainability among business establishment along shoreline in Cagangohan Panabo City

    Challenges in enhancing reading competency among JHS students: the lived experiences of English teachers

    This phenomenological study explores the lived experiences of English teachers regarding the reading competence of their junior high school students. Through in-depth interviews, the research aimed to understand the challenges teachers face, the coping mechanism they employ, and the insights they have gained. Thematic analysis was used to analyze data. Six themes emerged as challenges faced by JHS teachers with regards to their students' reading competence, namely lack of phonemic awareness, poor reading comprehension, reading disfluencies, anxiety among learners with poor comprehension skills, unattained competencies, and difficulty in reading long words. Six themes emerged as teaching strategies of JHS teachers amidst challenges in students' reading competency: guided reading, error correction, vocabulary development, comprehension development, reading intervention program and collaborative learning. Three themes emerged in terms of the insights and suggestions from the participants, including applying varied scaffolding strategies, widen reading opportunities, and aim for continuous professional development. The Multiple Intelligence Theory, Multi Modal Theory, and Behaviorism Theory supported this study. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of the complexities of developing reading competence in junior high school students and offers valuable insights for improving instructional practices and supporting teachers. Further, this study implied that teachers play a critical role in equipping students with the necessary skills and strategies to become proficient readers

    Assessing the influence of regulatory implementation on the utilization of plastic bags and styrofoam materials for packaging of IGACOS business

    This study aimed to determine the significant difference between business owners' perspectives on demographic profiles in the regulatory implementation of plastic bags and styrofoam in packaging. Despite their crucial role in enhancing business owners' perspective in the or ordinance, business owners often faced difficulties in accepting and adapting to the charges required by the ordinance. The study draws upon the Nudge, Social Cognitive, and Brand Equity theories that encourage business owners to choose eco-friendly challenges. To pick a sample size of 90 business owners, a Raosoft Calculator was utilized to select a sample from the target population. Frequency Count and Percentage Distribution, Mean, T-test, and ANOVA were used as statistical tools. The research shows that demographic profiles are not necessary with the trends in business owner's perceptions of the plastic bags and styrofoam ordinance, except for marital status and years of business, which to some extent, shaped perception. Food and Refreshments and Carinderia business favor the plastic bag and styrofoam ordinance and agree to use alternative plastics. They are aware of the government regulations and willing to barter convenience for a better environment. The study suggested that there should be gradual implementation of the ordinance with proper dissemination of policy information and its underlying benefits

    Diverse age, diverse roles: A qualitative exploration of age differences in human resource practice

    This study aimed to examine the Age Differences in Human Resource Practice through the lens of HR Practitioners from various firms. The categorical variables of this study are the Perceptions of HR Practitioners on Age Differences in HR Practice, Strategies to Address the issues of Age Differences in HR Practice, and Insights/Reflections of the Researchers based from the findings and observations during the conduct of the study. The researchers conducted an in-depth interview with selected HR Practitioners. There were seven (7) informants for this study. Researchers made consent letters to the participants to conduct the interview. The researchers used a research questionnaire, and the informants answered each question through a face-to-face interview. Furthermore, the researcher made use of a transcript to analyze the data. The findings show that the perceptions of HR Practitioners on Age Differences in HR Practice are Generational Differences, Knowledge Transfer, Teamwork, and Technological Proficiency. Open communication helps address the existing age differences problems inside the workforce; conducting team-building promotes the formation of a unified and productive team that values the efforts of all members, accepts age differences, and collaborates well to accomplish shared goals; implementing training and seminars that aim to concurrently address the three objectives of eradicating stereotypes, harmful behaviors, and ignorance, and complying with company rules and policies that support equity, inclusion, compliance, and organizational effectiveness

    Disaster preparedness of BEED students: Basis for training program

    This paper examines the strategies of students who are taking the course Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED). It centers around the difficulties and issues they experienced regarding with disaster preparedness. This study involves six fourth-year BEED students at University of Mindanao-Panabo College. These interviews aimed to gather information about their understanding when it comes to dealing with catastrophes. The findings revealed that BEED students are not exposed with varied training programs in disaster preparedness. The students must have a training program that involves critical problem-solving skill, and they must posses adequate knowledge in disaster reduction. Despite this, UM Panabo College have provided drills such as earthquake drills and fire prevention drills for students to acquire expertise in responding with these events. The study emphasizes the need of Training Programs within the curriculum
