Gumamit ang pag-aaral na ito ng kwalitatibong pamamaraan ng pananaliksik, kung saan nalikom ang mga kwentong bayan mula sa mga piling lungsod ng Ikalawang Distrito sa Bohol sa pamamagitan ng triangulation method, na kinabibilangan ng paunang pananaliksik sa mga nailathalang kwentong bayan. Ang mga tauhang may mataas na estado sa lipunan ay nagsisilbing batayan sa magandang ugali, na kadalasang nakikita sa kanilang mga espesyal na kakayahan na nagbibigay ng inspirasyon sa paggawa ng kabutihan. Mahalaga ang mga tagpuan o lugar ng historikal na kaganapan sa pagkakabuo ng mga kwentong bayan ng mga Boholano, kung saan umiikot ang mga tagpo na naglalarawan ng karaniwang pamumuhay, paniniwala, at mga pagdiriwang na bahagi ng kanilang mayamang kultura. Makikita sa bawat kwentong bayan ang simbolismo na nagpapahiwatig ng kaugalian at paniniwala ng mga Boholano, na bumubuo sa kanilang kultural na pagkakakilanlan at nagsisilbing gabay sa kanilang pamumuhay. Ang mga kwentong ito ay hindi lamang nagsasalaysay ng nakaraan, kundi nagiging lunsaran din ng pagkatuto sa mga pagpapahalaga na kinakailangan para sa holistikong pag-unlad ng isang indibidwal. Ang mga kwentong bayan ay naglalarawan ng mga tradisyon at moral na aral na ipinapasa mula sa isang henerasyon tungo sa iba. Ang kultural na kamalayan ay lumalago sa mga kwentong bayan, na humuhubog sa moral at kultural na pananaw ng mga Boholano, at nagiging mahalagang bahagi ng kanilang pagkatao. Batay sa nakalap na datos, ang mga kwentong bayan ay nagpaunlad sa kaalaman ng mga Boholano sa kanilang kasaysayan at kultura, na nagbibigay ng konteksto sa kanilang kasalukuyang pamumuhay. Pagsusuring Pangnilalaman ng Nobelang El Filibusterismo: Mungkahing Gabay ng Pagtuturo
Get PDFAng pag-aaral na ito ay naglalayong suriin ang nilalaman ng nobelang El Filibusterismo ni Jose P. Rizal batay sa mga elementong itinatampok: tema, tauhan, tagpuan, himig, at simbolismo. Gayundin ang pagpapahalagang moral, makabuluhang tampok na nangingibabaw sa bawat kabanata at ang implikasyong kinalabasan sa nobelang ito sa kasanayan sa panitikang Filipino upang makabuo ng gabay ng pagtuturo. Ginamit ang Kwalitatibo na pagsusuri sa pag-aaral na ito. Sinuri ng mananaliksik ang limang elemento sa nobela. Gamit ang isinaayos nina Lolita Samson- Edonia at Flerida S. Banaticla na aklat ng El Filibusterismo na nailimbag sa Vicente Publishing House, Inc. taong 2005, bilang instrumento sa pag-aaral. Natuklasan sa isinagawang pag-aaral na ang elementong itinatampok sa nobela batay sa tema ay tumatalakay sa paghahari ng kasakiman, isyung panlipunan, politikal, at relihiyon; sa tauhan ay nagtataglay ng bilog at lapad na uri, protagonista at antagonista, pantulong na tauhan rin sa katangian; nailarawan naman nang maayos ang tagpuan sa bawat kabanata ng nobela naging bahagi sa kanilang pamumuhay, naghubog sa katauhan at nakadagdag sa damdaming kanilang naramdaman; nagkakaibang himig naman ang namayani sa nobela gaya ng pagnanais na makapaghiganti, galit, poot, pagsasakripisyo kung saan ito ang sumasalamin sa mga dinaramdam ng mga tauhang namayani sa akda. Ipinapakita rin sa nobela ang iba’t ibang katauhan ng El Filibusterismo na kung saan ang mga tauhan ring ito ang sumisimbolo sa mga bagay, tao, lugar at katangian na nagpapahiwatig ng ibat- ibang kahulugan. Natuklasan ang pagpapahalagang moral na nangingibabaw sa akda na ang bawat simula ay may katapusan, piliin ang kalangitan sa halip na kasamaan at kadiliman, ang karunungan ay hindi maagaw kanino man, ang mabuting pinuno ay mabuting tagasunod, pagmamahal, pananalig sa Diyos.Natuklasan din ang mga implikasyong maidudulot ng kinalabasang kasanayan sa pagtuturo ng panitikan sa asignaturang Filipino. Ang nabuo mula sa pananaliksik na ito ay isang gabay ng pagtuturo. Maaaring gamitin ang gabay sa pagtuturo ng panitikan sa asignaturang Filipino upang mas maging makabuluhan ang pagkatuto mga mag-aaral

Get PDFAng wika ay isang mahalagang kasangkapan sa pakikipagtalastasan na nagbibigay-daan upang maipahayag ang saloobin, damdamin, at ideya ng tao. Ang pag-aaral na ito ay isinagawa upang masuri ang nilalaman ng mga piling Orihinal na Pilipinong Musika (OPM) mula 2022-2024. Layuning nitong suriin ang nilalaman batay sa sumusunod: morpolohikal na istrukturang nakapaloob sa piling OPM ayon sa kayarian ng salita, pagbabagong morpoponemiko, at aspekto ng pandiwa at elemento ng akdang pampantikan na nakapaloob tulad ng genre, tema, simbolismo, idyomatikong pahayag, at kulturang Pilipino. Nilalayon din ng pag-aaral na makabuo ng disenyo ng aralin na maaaring gamitin sa pagtuturo ng Filipino upang mapataas ang interes at pagkatuto ng mga mag-aaral. Ginamit sa pag-aaral ang kwalitatibong pamamaraan, partikular ang pagsusuring pangnilalaman o content analysis. Batay sa pagsusuri, natuklasan na ang morpolohikal na kayarian ng mga piling OPM ay binubuo ng payak, maylapi, at inuulit na salita, nagpapakita ng mga pagbabagong morpoponemiko tulad ng reduplikasyon, asimilasyon, pagpapalit, at pagkakaltas ng ponema, at mga aspekto ng pndiwa na perpektibo, imperpektibo at kontemplatibo. Ang mga liriko ng kanta ay nagtataglay ng genre na pop kasama ang makabuluhang tema, simbolismo, idyomatikong pahayag, at kulturang Pilipino. Ang OPM ay nakitang kapaki-pakinabang bilang kasangkapan sa pagtuturo ng wika at panitikan, na nakapagpapataas ng interes at kakayahan ng mga mag-aaral sa kanilang pag-aara
Modular Distance Learning In Relation To Learners’ Performance In Enscima, Calape District, Bohol
Get PDFThis study investigates the implementation of Modular Distance Learning (MDL) and its impact on learners\u27 performance in English, Science, and Mathematics (ENSCIMA) in public elementary schools in Calape District, Bohol, during the COVID-19 pandemic. Utilizing a descriptive-correlational research design, the study assesses the quality of Self-Learning Modules (SLMs) and the perceptions of teachers and parents regarding MDL. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to Grade 6 teachers and parents, with statistical analyses including means, correlation coefficients, and non-parametric tests. Findings reveal a high level of implementation of module distribution, with a composite mean of 3.4485, indicating effective access to learning materials. Teacher evaluations rated the quality of SLM content as "Very Good," yet areas for improvement were identified, particularly in developmental appropriateness and clarity. Notably, a significant correlation exists between the quality of SLMs and their usability. However, the average performance of Grade 6 learners in ENSCIMA subjects did not meet expectations, highlighting the need for enhanced instructional strategies. The study underscores the importance of continuous improvement in educational resources and collaborative efforts between educators and parents to optimize student learning outcomes in the context of MDL. Recommendations for future research and practice are provided to support effective educational interventions
Citizen Service Quality Standard: Its Levels of Implementation and Satisfaction as Perceived by Clients, Deped-Tagbilaran City
Get PDFService Quality Standards (SQSs) mean the level of management and organization service unit requirements. The study investigated the Department of Education (DepEd) Tagbilaran City Division frontline services. The study is descriptive-comparative in gathering data through modified tools to measure the levels of implementation, satisfaction, and problems encountered by internal and external DepEd stakeholders in its service transactions. With the overall number of 956, a sample size of 536 was randomly selected (2.81% margin of error at 95% confidence interval). It used Spearman Rank Chi-Square, Mann Whitney Test, and Kruskal Wallis. The Chi-Square test results revealed that an association exists between the position of respondents (X2 (14) =24.396, p<0.05) and the classification of respondents (X2 (2) = 10.568, p<0.05) with their level of satisfaction. The Spearman Rank test showed a significant positive correlation between implementation and satisfaction (rs (534) =0.657, p<0.05). The Mann-Whitney test results revealed that internal stakeholders (Mdn = 3.25) have higher satisfaction as compared to external stakeholders (Mdn = 3.00), U (267,269) = 31380.500, z = -2.532, p<0.05. Although it fully implemented its service quality standard, it falls short in some service domains in that clients were moderately satisfied with their frontline services
Students’ Satisfaction on Online Mathematics Learning and Academic Performance of College Students
Get PDFThis study investigated the relationship between student satisfaction with online mathematics learning and their academic performance at the University of Bohol\u27s Teachers College Department during the 2020-2021 academic year. Satisfaction with online mathematics learning was measured by student perceptions of their experience in the online environment. Academic performance was assessed using final grades in mathematics courses. A quantitative, correlational research design was employed and the target population consisted of 431 students enrolled in mathematics courses within the department. A sample of 65 students was randomly selected, based on a 95% confidence interval and a 5% margin of error. A researcher-developed questionnaire, demonstrating acceptable reliability with a Cronbach\u27s alpha of .827 in a pilot test of ten students, was used to collect data on student satisfaction. Ethical considerations were prioritized, with informed consent obtained from all participants and strict adherence to privacy and anonymity protocols, ensuring a "do no harm" approach. Spearman\u27s Rank Correlation Coefficient was used to analyze the data. The findings indicated no statistically significant correlation between student satisfaction with online mathematics learning and their academic performance. This suggests that, within the context of this study, satisfaction with the online learning environment did not appear to be related to students\u27 final grades in mathematic
Mental Health and Quality of Life During the COVID-19 Pandemic Among Local Residents in San Isidro, Bohol
Get PDFThe COVID-19 pandemic is a global pandemic that affects the mental health and quality of life of many people. This study aimed to determine the mental health and quality of life during the COVID-19 pandemic among residents in San Isidro, Bohol, as of Calendar Year 2022, and the study’s findings will serve as the basis for the formulation of the proposed intervention program. The study used the quantitative descriptive survey method of research utilizing survey questionnaires that measured residents\u27 profiles, mental health, and quality of life. The resident’s profile questionnaire measures the age, sex, civil status, highest educational attainment, and employment status. To measure the residents\u27 mental health, the study used the stress-allied queries designed by Meo et al., the COVID-19 worry scale designed by Oli Ahmed, and the WHO Quality of Life Scale to measure the quality of life. The study found that the respondents possessed a fair mental health status, and their quality of life was interpreted as good. There was a significant degree of relationship between the mental health status and the respondents’ quality of life. It implies that the mental health status of the residents during the COVID-19 pandemic also affects the respondents’ quality of life

Get PDFThis quantitative-descriptive study examines the factors that affect the interest of 107 Senior High School students in physical education at Cabilao National High School, Loon, Bohol, Philippines. The study utilizes a revised questionnaire created by Kate Sauer to investigate the relationships among factors including age, sex, academic strand, grade level, teacher performance, peer influence, and self-perception in relation to students\u27 interest. The findings revealed a significant correlation between grade level and students\u27 interest. On the other hand, characteristics such as age, sex, and academic strand showed no significant correlation. Furthermore, the findings show that, while children have a favorable interest in physical education, it does not have a substantial association with their academic performance. The study emphasizes the critical role of educators in increasing student engagement and the relevance of using interactive and relevant teaching approaches. It highlights the need of developing a positive attitude toward physical education in order to encourage long-term participation in physical activities
Social Support in Relation to Self-Management Behaviors Among Diabetic Individuals of Poblacion II, Tagbilaran City, Bohol
Get PDFThis study delves into the relationship between social support and self-management behaviors among diabetic individuals in Poblacion II, Tagbilaran City, Bohol. Employing a descriptive correlational survey design and a stratified sampling method, 48 respondents were selected, revealing that a majority were middle to older adults, married, and residing below the official poverty threshold. Hypertension emerged as the predominant comorbidity, affecting 75% of respondents. Examining social support dimensions, the study found a moderate level across most aspects, except for smoking, which displayed lower support. Remarkably, the overall self-management level among respondents was very good. Significant relationships were identified between social support and self-management practices, particularly concerning Alcoholism/Drug Addiction, Obesity, and Stroke. The study rejects the null hypothesis, establishing a significant correlation (p-value – 0.001) between social support and diabetes self-management practices. Recommendations include tailored assessments considering comorbidities, emphasizing newly adopted practices, and implementing targeted programs like teleconsultations and a "buddy system" for specific demographics. This research contributes valuable insights for healthcare professionals and policymakers, urging a holistic approach to diabetes management that integrates social support dynamics
