Theoretical basics and technological characteristics of pork with typical syndromes
In the practice of meat processing, pork is often characterized by such syndromes as PSE (pale, soft, exudative), DFD (dark, firm, dry) and RSE (reddish-pink, soft, exudative). They worsen the perception of meats and have a negative impact on their technological properties in the production of meat products. In the total amount of pork used as raw material, meat with PSE and DFD syndromes features up to 50%. Studies have shown that PSE pork differed from quality meat (NOR) in a less elastic texture, the cut surface was soft, exudative, pale pink in color, and DFD pork was distinguished by a darker color. Compared to NOR meat, the pH value of pork DFD decreases during storage, while that of pork PSE increases. By appointing optimal feeding rations with the minimum necessary use of veterinary preparations, minimizing the causes of pig stress, choosing rational slaughter methods and regimens, it is possible to limit the impact of PSE syndrome and other common meat defects and improve pork quality
Justification of the dibber drill machines wheel parameters under the condition of rotation uniformity
The article presents theoretical and experimental study results of rotation uniformity for seed drill wheel and possibilities of using wheeled dibber drills in the design of sowing machines. The main purpose of research is to obtain mathematical models of wheel dynamic model expressing the dependence of wheel sliding on the technological and design factors. The objectives were to determine rolling coefficients in order to use their numerical characteristics in the analysis of wheel dynamic model and in particularity, the axial load, wheel radius, parameters of the dibber drills wheel and speed of movement. Freely rotating wheels with a rim width of 170 mm and diameters of 524 mm and 712 mm were used in the experiments. Soil in the channel was brought close by properties to the soil prepared for sowing. Measurement of the driving force was made by strain gauge equipment at a wheel speed of 0.47 m/s. The optimal axial load at the masses of 35-55 kg and diameter in the range of 500-800 mm of thewheeled dibber drills was determined. It was proved, that wheel slip within 10-12% will assure the quality of sowing crops technological process execution at speeds up to 3 ms-1. Numerical values of wheel sliding coefficients are on average 58% lower for rolled soil than for loose soil for equal conditions. 
Stimulating circular economy in the food industry: a comparative analysis of the governance strategies in Greece and Armenia
The success of transformation to a circular economic model mainly depends on effective government interventions. The objective of this paper is to reveal the implementation schemes, actors in charge, and funding mechanisms of the circular economy action plan in Greece. Additionally, a comparison has been made concerning the waste management governance practices in Armenia given a few distinct political, social, economic and behavioral characteristics common to both countries. Special emphasis was put on the food industry, since it generates a large amount of waste annually with limited by-product valorization and recycling rate. A comprehensive document analysis has been conducted with deductive or concept-driven approach using the software Atlas.ti. Research results highlighted several deficiencies existing within the policy papers and a set of recommendations covering critical success factors such as education, finance, cooperation, market development, monitoring, and evaluation related to the system change were offered. By addressing these deficiencies, policymakers may ensure an environment conducive to circularity practices and facilitate the transition to a more sustainable and resource-efficient economy
Republic of Moldova: Assessment of energy poverty
Energy poverty is a topic addressed every time when it comes to supplying residential customers with energy - either from traditional or from renewable sources. In the context of the preparations of the Republic of Moldova for the accession to the EU, it is relevant to evaluate the structure of energy consumption of households in the country, the level of related costs, as well as the level of energy poverty. The paper presents data on the evolution of household energy consumption for the period 2010-2020. For a reference year (2019), the level of poverty in the country was assessed under different aspects (by living environment – urban and rural, by socio-economic status (5 categories), by household size (5 cat.) etc.). From the calculations, the average value of the level of energy poverty, characteristic to the Republic of Moldova, as a whole, for the year 2019, was equal to 15.7 % and a slightly higher value for the urban area. The paper also presents the new government initiative to support energy-vulnerable households - the "Help at the meter" program
DETERMINING OPTIMAL SIMULATION SETTINGS FOR THE CENTRIFUGAL PUMP PARTS OPTIMIZATION PROCESS
This paper explores the optimal simulation settings required by the optimization process of centrifugal canned motor pump parts using the CH 6,3/32-2,2-2 pump as an example. The optimization of centrifugal pump parts is particularly important in order to increase pump characteristics: pump efficiency, net positive suction head, as well as other optimization criteria. The optimal conditions to obtain a geometric model and optimal mesh properties, initial and boundary conditions, solver settings were investigated. The mathematical models used in the simulation were also presented. In conclusion, there have been revealed optimal simulation settings
TECHNIQUES FOR SPECIAL FOLLOWING OF THE DEGRADATIONS DEVELOPMENT FOR A RAILWAY PASSAGE
Nowadays, most of the transportation infrastructure is already built, the main challenge being the maintenance of these structures in optimal conditions of safety and comfort for users. Therefore, in recent years, research in the field of bridge maintenance has focused on the development and implementation of special monitoring programs that can identify and warn transportation infrastructure managers of the appearance and development of degradation, and especially the possibility of collapse of the construction element in the near future. In addition to familiarizing readers with the structural design of the Constanta Bridge, this work proposes the presentation of the main technologies used for implementing the in-service behavior monitoring program, along with the arrangement of data acquisition units and a brief interpretation of the information provided by the monitoring system. In the conclusions of the article, the authors will draw attention to the bearing capacity of the structure, affected by the development of degradation processes and the need for emergency implementation of rehabilitation and strengthening works of the passage
IMPROVING ROAD SAFETY ON THE NATIONAL ROAD NETWORK IN ROMANIA THROUGH PILOT SOLUTIONS
In recognition of outstanding work in the field of road safety, especially for the implementation of road safety pilot projects, N.C.R.I.A.-S.A. was declared the winner. The road safety pilot projects that have attracted the attention of the IRF, being a model to follow for all road administrations are: Roller Barriers; Impact attenuators; Road sector 2+1; Cable Road barriers; Illumination of dangerous sectors with light assemblies; Projects to increase road safety by creating elevated road crossings. The International Road Federation (IRF) encourages all companies and organizations in the road development sector to get involved in the awards program it grants, because by promoting innovative ideas a positive and motivating influence can be created. The National Company for Road Infrastructure Administration S.A, Traffic Safety Service participated in the "Find a Way Global Road Safety Award" organized by IRF. In this article, the road safety projects are presented, with their results and the road safety measures implemented by the national roads and highways administrator in Romania, so that other road administrations to be encouraged to implement as many road safety measures as possible
MICROBIAL DIVERSITY ON GRAPE SURFACE AND ITS RESEARCH STATUS
The microbial diversity of grape surfaces, also known as "microbial terroir", plays a critical role in winemaking and has applications in crop health and plant protection. Next-generation Sequencing (NGS) has revolutionized our understanding of grape surface microbiota by providing insights into the complex and dynamic microbial communities present on grape berries. NGS studies have confirmed the existence of distinct regional differences in grape surface microbial diversity, highlighting the concept of microbial terroir. This diversity is influenced by various natural and human factors, such as soil type, climate, vineyard management practices, and grapevine genetics, which contribute to the unique microbial terroir of each location. The application of NGS in studying microbial terroir has not only advanced our knowledge of grape and wine science, but also has implications in crop health and plant protection. The identification and characterization of microbial communities using NGS can help to develop sustainable and eco-friendly strategies for managing grapevine diseases and pests. The ongoing research in this area is expected to further expand our understanding of microbial terroir and its applications, contributing to the advancement of grape and wine science, and promoting environmentally responsible grape production practices. APPLICATION OF APPLE ACIDIFIER IN VEGETABLE STEW OF TYPE „ZACUSCA” PRODUCTION
The insufficiency of natural acidifiers in the food industry is a major problem today. The present study analyzes the acidifier from the unripe apples of variety Golden Rezistent. It had a significant amount of acidity (1.97 %) and impressive of total soluble substances (8.47 %). Malic acid and fructose were predominant with values of 32.95 g/dm3 and 45.55 g/dm3, respectively. The glucose content was 2 times lower than that of fructose, but citric acid and sucrose had very low concentrations. The acidifier was applied to the preparation of vegetable stew of type "Zacusca" under laboratory conditions. The recipe and the production technological scheme were developed. Physicochemical and sensorial indices were determined in the experimental samples. The elaborated product presented very good results compared to other similar foods, being appreciated with the maximum score. The implementation of the natural acidifier, obtained from thinned unripe apples in the food industry, is a key factor for the development of new healthy and ecological foods with a high nutritional value
SOFTWARE FOR NUTRITIONAL ASSESSMENT OF PEOPLE WITH GLUTEN-RELATED DISORDERS
In the context of complex nutrition issues, nutritional assessment software for people with gluten-related disorders can be a precious tool for professionals in the field. It could serve as a support for novice nutritionists. The purpose of this research is to develop software for the nutritional assessment of people with Gluten-related disorders (GRDs) in the Republic of Moldova, intended for nutrition students. The development of the Software followed the systemic approach of the Nutrition Care Process, which is a graphical visualization illustrating the internal and external steps and factors that influence the use of the process. The nutritional Software was developed based on the information system Embarcadero RAD Studio Alexandria Edition, having Microsoft SQL Server as a database. The developed Software offers a personalized and precise approach, taking into account the consumer's anamnesis, the results of clinical evaluations, and anthropometric parameters, but also specific biomarkers for GRDs and offering the possibility of data recording, scanning and archiving of the results obtained from the laboratories analysis sampling. The system includes functionality to monitor and evaluate client progress toward health goals, and nutrition users can effectively track progress and make appropriate adjustments
