THE USE OF FOOD DYES: PROBLEM, SOLUTION AND SOURCE OF PERSPECTIVE
For consumers, the colour presents an indicator that characterizes the quality of the food. As a result of the processes of caramelization of carbohydrates and products of the Maillard reaction, brown compounds are formed with a negative impact on the external appearance of food, which has led to the massive use of synthetic dyes, stable from a technological point of view. The objectives of the European Union foresee the transition to the exclusive use of natural dyes, because synthetic dyes significantly affect the health of the population. Compounds with "azo" type chromophore groups (amaranth, tartrazine) present carcinogenic dangers, being banned in several European countries. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the problem of synthetic dyes and their substitution in food, obtaining, stabilizing and using natural dyes for the food industry. The study highlighted that safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) presents a promising source of yellow and red dyes, necessary for use in the food industry, but insufficient information was found regarding the technological properties of safflower petals, the methods of simultaneous extraction of yellow and red dyes and the peculiarities of the use of dyes in the finished product
The impact of advanced management accounting methods on the quality of financial reporting: the case of the Jordanian banking system
This study aims to investigate the degree of application of advanced management accounting methods within Jordanian banks. The researcher tries also to assess the effect of the degree of application of advanced management accounting methods on the quality of financial reports issued by Jordanian banks. In order to achieve this objective data was collected through the distribution of 45 questionnaires to the financial managers and chief accountants of ten commercial banks operating in Jordan. Only 40 questionnaires have been subjected to the process of statistical analysis in order to construct the model of the study, In addition to the use of descriptive statistical techniques of analysis of variance. The results showed that the level of use of the targeted management accounting methods represented in activity based costing, target costing, total quality management respectively within the subjected banks was acceptable. The study also found that there was a significant relationship between the degree of application of our targeted management accounting methods and the quality of financial reports issued by Jordanian banks. Therefore, the paper recommended that management of the subjected banks should improve their usage of advanced management accounting methods which is presently fair but not sufficient and involve accountants and financial managers in the decision making process
The abuse exercise of the right to strike
Trade union organizations/elected representatives of employees, in their capacity as subject of collective labor relations, may abusively exercise their subjective rights both at the time of conclusion and at the time of modification, suspension and termination of the collective labor contract. A special situation emerges in the case of the abusive exercise of the right to the association and the abusive exercise of the right to strike and the rights of trade union organizations, of the elected representatives of employees, as the case may be. The right to strike, being a means of ensuring collective negotiations, cannot abusively harm the interests of the other party. In the following article, those situations of abusive exercise of the right to strike will be highlighted, wherein the limits of the exercise of this right are intentionally exceeded by the elected representatives of the employees. Starting from the idea that the strike is declared in order to protect the social interests of employees, the abusive exercise of the right to strike must be evaluated taking into account the prejudicial result of the strike in relation to the organizers' intention and interest to produce this result
RELIGION, TRUST IN GOVERNMENT AND COVID-19 VACCINE ACCEPTANCE IN AFRICA
The development of vaccines to combat the COVID-19 pandemic brought a huge relief to governments, health workers, and citizens around the globe. However, some citizens are not willing to get vaccinated. Some researchers have attributed this vaccine hesitancy to religion and trust in the government handling the pandemic. This research aims to investigate the impact of these two factors on COVID-19 vaccine acceptance in Africa. We used data from round 8 of the Afrobarometer survey with a sample size of 6,057 participants. Means, proportions, standard deviations, and ordered logistic regressions were used in the analysis. The results show that Christians and members of other religions such as Hinduism and Hare Krishna were more likely to accept COVID-19 vaccines. In addition, the study found that people who hold some beliefs about the vaccines were less likely to get vaccinated. Finally, citizens who trust the government’s handling of the pandemic were more willing to accept COVID-19 vaccination. Based on these findings, a number of religious health promotion measures are proposed
PROVISIONS REFORMULATION FOR THE RESPONSIBILITY OF HUMAN RIGHTS FULFILLMENT
Fulfillment of human rights, especially social security rights based on the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, still does not show justice for all Indonesian citizens. This happens because of the blurring of norms in the regulation of responsibility for fulfilling human rights, namely about who are the legal subjects who must be responsible and the scope of the scope of their responsibilities in the implementation of social security according to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia. This research aims to find out how the formulation arrangement of responsible subjects and the scope of their responsibilities in fulfilling human rights including the right to social security in Indonesia. This type of research is normative juridical, with a philosophical approach, a conceptual approach, and a statutory approach. Data analysis was carried out using qualitative techniques with descriptive analysis. The results of the study show that the formulation of responsible subject arrangements and the scope of their responsibilities in fulfilling human rights including the right to social security is to make clear and firm legal rules to regulate the responsibility for fulfilling human rights including the scope of fulfilling these human rights, parties who has responsibility, as well as the scope of responsibility in the implementation of social functions in the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia
PERSONALITY TRAITS, AGGRESSION, AND GENDER AS PREDICTORS OF CYBERBULLYING BEHAVIOR AMONG YOUTHS IN IBADAN METROPOLIS, NIGERIA
The prevalence of cyberbullying and associated psychological problems on the victims has been on the increase, especially in the developing countries. While studies on the effects of cyberbullying and management of the victims have been done in developed countries, this is not the case in many developing countries. Therefore, this study investigated predictors of cyberbullying behavior among youths in Ibadan metropolis, Nigeria. Cross-sectional survey design was adopted while purposive sampling technique was used to select the two institutions. Data was collected from 416 students using three validated scales. Two hypotheses were tested using stepwise multiple regression analysis and t-test of independent samples. Results indicated that personality traits significantly predicted cyberbullying behavior among students in the two tertiary institutions. When aggression was introduced into the model, there was an additional amount of variance explained. Furthermore, the result revealed that male students reported higher cyberbullying behavior than female students. The study concluded that personality traits of extraversion, openness to experience, conscientiousness, neuroticism, and aggression are important predictors of cyberbullying behavior among students in the study population. The study recommended that discouraging cyberbullying would be achieved by understanding the personality traits and aggressive behavior that triggers students into cyberbullying
Processing of microstructures of metal surfaces with chemical-thermal treatment in low voltage electrolytic plasma
The main reason for these researches is to solve the problem of intensification of the alloying process by electric sparks by increasing the energy of the electric pulses. In relation to this, the purpose and object of the research is the need to assume a new concept of organizing the alloying process in order to intensify the strengthening of metal surfaces, excluding the negative effects. Among the electrophysical methods of layer formation, a special place is occupied by alloying by electric sparks of metal surfaces, considering the multitude of its characteristic advantages, which are the following: high adhesion of the deposited coatings, the possibility of depositing coatings of any conductive materials, the simplicity of the process and the low consumption of energy for its implementation. The main results are that after the heating in the electrolyte, the cooling takes place in the air, then in the superficial layers of the samples treated in this way residual tensile stresses act. In conclusion, it is important to mention that through the combined processing the properties of the superficial layers and the exploitation characteristics can be controlled
A material full of promises: Hg1-xCdXTe - mercury cadmium telluride
In recent decades’ doctors and scientists have intensively researched the effect of infrared applications. The rays of infrared devices penetrate the body to a depth of about 5 cm and provide a pleasant warmth, stimulating blood circulation and reducing joint pain. Long-wave infrared light exerts a beneficial effect on nerve cells. These nerve cells are responsible for transmitting the sensation of pain to the brain. Infrared light treatment increases the release of endogenous analgesic substances from the brain and adrenal glands, such as enkephalins and endorphins. The infrared range of the electromagnetic spectrum extends from about 0.75 μm to 1000 μm. The article presents a review of HgCdTe infrared detectors, which have been intensively developed in the last forty years since the first synthesis of this compound semiconductor in 1958
PROCESSES OF CHANGING THE PHYSICO-CHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF AUTOMOBILE MOTOR OILS DURING OPERATION
Mathematical modeling of the operation processes of automotive engine oils allows to optimize the time of their use during operation. A certain significance for changing the qualitative properties of motor oils is introduced by such an operational indicator as „waste” oil consumption. The article describes the causes and parameters of engine oil consumption, as well as the mathematical model of changes in the physico-chemical properties of engine oil during operation. The one that will allow us to optimize the periodicity of replacing the engine oil, as a result this fact will allow us to increase the distance between the interventions of the corrective maintenance works of the means of transport
ANALYSIS OF PHONONS BEHAVIOR IN QUASI-ONE-DIMENSIONAL CRYSTALS OF TTT(TCNQ)2 NEAR THE PEIERLS STRUCTURAL TRANSITION IN A 3D APPROXIMATION
This research paper focuses on investigating the metal-insulator transition occurring in quasi-one-dimensional organic crystals of TTT(TCNQ)2. The study utilizes a 3D approximation approach and introduces a physical model that incorporates two essential electron-phonon interactions. The first interaction is akin to the deformation potential, while the second interaction follows a polaron type behavior. By employing the random phase approximation, the renormalized phonon spectrum is calculated across different temperatures and various values of the dimensionless Fermi momentum kF. The findings indicate that the transition exhibits characteristics of the Peierls type, and the critical temperature associated with the Peierls transition is determined. Furthermore, an interesting observation is made that the Peierls critical temperature experiences a notable decrease with an increase in carrier concentration
