Gender and Right To Inheritance of property Among The Syrian christians of Kerala
Among the Syrian Christians in Kerala parental property hasbeen inherited by the male and women have been given streedhanam atthe time of marriage instead of share in parental property. This systemwas in accordance with the acts enacted by the erstwhile princely rulersbefore the independence. The Syrian Christians under purview of theseacts continued to follow the system after the independence. In 1986 theSupreme Court of India declared the pre-independence acts invalidand decreed that the Indian Succession Act 1925, which provided forgender equality in right to intestate property, had been applicable tothe Syrian Christians from 1 April 1951. A cross section of 300 SyrianChristian married women from Kerala was contacted by the author inorder to understand their views on gender equality in right to intestateproperty conferred by the Supreme Court. The respondents have hadmixed views on the issue

Politics has been characterized by the phenomenon ofcampaigning since the advent of such electoral exercises likeelections in modern times. The significance of the same is felt themost when an election is round-the-corner. However, with time,political parties have come to realize that election-basedcampaigning is not sufficient to stay atop the minds of consumers.Hence, the concept of permanent campaign has got ascendancyin modern-era politics. It highlights the need of being consistentlyrelevant rather than sporadically. This research paper is an effortto explain the phenomenon of permanent campaign and how itderives from political branding as a concept. It makes an attemptto correlate permanent campaign with political branding and howtogether they have come to characterize the modern-day politicalaffairs for a party. Mediating Effect of Customer Satisfaction on Service Quality and Customer Loyalty: A Study of Goan Personal Grooming Industry
Satisfying a customer is the ultimate goal of any B2Corganization. An attempt has been made to study the relationshipbetween service quality and customer satisfaction and also tofind out whether customers are loyal to firms in the personalgrooming sector. A high degree of correlation was seen betweencustomer satisfaction and customer loyalty which indicates thatcustomer satisfaction was the key for repurchase of services. Itwas also found that responsiveness from the employees was themain attribute of service quality. Further, the approach by Baronand Kenny (1986) was used to find the extent of mediation ofcustomer satisfaction between service quality and customerloyalty in this industry
Assessing the Potential Barriers to M-Commerce Adoption in India
In the era of information technology and click-and-mortarbusinesses, execution of commercial transactions is experiencinga paradigm shift. New-age consumers have shifted to electroniccommerce, and with the advent of smart phone and internet usageon mobile phones, people are gradually tempted to use mobilecommerce. In spite of the various benefits offered by mobilecommerce, there are various factors which inhibit its adoption.Dearth of relevant research in this area makes the case for thisempirical study. Data is collected from 296 respondents using aself-administered questionnaire. Analysis is done usingmultivariate techniques like factor analysis followed by ANOVAand independent sample t-test. Five factors, namely, unawareness,mobile-device inoperability, personalization, time consumption/confusion, and cost are found to hinder the adoption of mcommerce.Additionally, it is seen that there is a relationshipbetween unawareness and age, unawareness and educationalqualification, personalization and educational qualification,personalization and occupation, and time consumption/ confusionand age
Examining Technical Efficiency of NBFI-MFIs in India: A Non-parametric Approach
This study analyses the technical efficiency of Non-BankingFinancial Institution – Micro Finance Institutions (NBFI–MFIs)in India under both variable and constant returns to scale over aperiod of nine years ranging from 2004–05 to 2012–13. The studyused production approach to estimate efficiency scores of firmsby using a non–parametric tool called the Data EnvelopmentAnalysis (DEA). The results indicate that Rashtriya Gramin VikasNidhi Microfinance Limited (RGVN) and Share MACTS are theonly two firms that lay on the efficiency frontier under variablereturns to scale (VRS) approach whereas no firms were there inthe efficiency frontier under constant returns to scale (CRS)approach. The nine-year average Technical Efficiency (TE) scoresunder both approaches remained the same at 0.889. Average PureTechnical Efficiency (PTE) score under input orientation is 0.916,whereas it is 0.921 under output orientation. Average ScaleEfficiency (SE) scores were 0.971 and 0.966 under inputorientation and output orientation, respectively
