SMEs in Bushenyi are positively influencing the district\u27s economic development and growth, although there is also a significant failure rate. SMEs in Uganda, however, have not yet fully embraced these sectors; thus, immediate action is required. This study examined the influence of the business environment on the financial performance of Small and Medium Enterprises in Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipality, Uganda. The study specifically aimed to: establish the relationship between political environment and financial performance; examine the relationship between socio-cultural environment and financial performance; and determine the relationship between technological environment and financial performance of SMEs. Using a quantitative approach and correlational design, the study targeted a population of 140 respondents comprising SME owners and employees, from which a sample of 104 was drawn using stratified random proportionate sampling. The research was guided by Political Risk Theory, Technological Determinism Theory, and Cultural Dimensions Theory. Data was collected using structured questionnaires and analysed using both descriptive statistics and inferential statistics through SPSS version 27, with results presented in tables. The findings revealed varying relationships between business environment factors and financial performance: political environment showed a strong positive correlation (β = 0.877, p = 0.000), socio-cultural environment demonstrated a negative but insignificant relationship (β = -0.085, p = 0.130), and technological environment exhibited a negative insignificant relationship (β = -0.050, p = 0.373). The study recommended establishing formal channels for political engagement, developing culturally sensitive business practices, and implementing strategic technology adoption approaches. Evaluating Cybersecurity Awareness Levels among NMB Bank Plc. Customers in Morogoro Municipality, Tanzania

    No full text
This study evaluates the level of cybersecurity awareness among customers of NMB Bank Plc in Morogoro Municipality, Tanzania, in the context of the increasing adoption of digital banking services. The rapid digitalisation of banking platforms has created new opportunities for financial inclusion, while simultaneously exposing users to heightened risks such as phishing, identity theft, and online fraud. Despite significant investments in digital infrastructure, limited cybersecurity literacy remains a major vulnerability within Tanzania’s banking ecosystem. The study employed a cross-sectional design within a mixed-methods framework, combining quantitative data from 375 customer questionnaires with qualitative insights from ICT champions at selected NMB branches. The findings revealed a high level of general awareness, particularly regarding the risks of sharing personal banking information (88.5% agreement; χ² = 579.59, p < 0.001) and understanding the impact of cyber fraud (81.6% agreement; χ² = 411.48, p < 0.001). However, practical knowledge and behavioural skills were limited. Only 39% of customers had attended cybersecurity training (χ² = 7.15, p = 0.051), and just 47% could identify signs of a hacked account (χ² = 25.12, p = 0.015). These results indicate a significant gap between theoretical awareness and applied cybersecurity practices. The study concludes that while awareness of cybersecurity threats is relatively high, gaps in practical training and situational readiness persist, increasing vulnerability among digital banking users. Policy implications include integrating cybersecurity education into national financial literacy programmes, mandating customer-centred awareness initiatives by financial institutions, and establishing a national cyber hygiene policy. Strengthening end-user awareness is critical to enhancing the resilience and security of Tanzania’s digital financial system

Study Design: The research employed an explanatory quantitative design, utilizing a survey strategy to explore causal relationships among the variables. Place and Duration of Study: The study was conducted in Indonesia, with data collection taking place over a period of two months in 2025. Methodology: Data were gathered from 300 Tiket.com users who had completed at least two bookings. A structured questionnaire was distributed via Google Forms and social media platforms. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) through SmartPLS version 4. The analysis included evaluation of the measurement model (covering convergent validity, discriminant validity, and reliability) and the structural model. Results: All hypothesized relationships were found to be statistically significant. Components of e-service quality—security, reliability, convenience, and responsiveness—positively affected both e-satisfaction and e-loyalty. Reliability had the strongest effect on e-satisfaction, while security showed a modest but significant impact. E-trust significantly predicted both e-satisfaction and e-loyalty. E-satisfaction also had a significant influence on e-loyalty. The model demonstrated moderate predictive power. Additionally, these findings underscore the critical role of service quality dimensions, particularly reliability, in shaping positive customer perceptions and fostering long-term relationships in the e-commerce landscape. Conclusion: The findings indicate that Tiket.com has successfully fostered customer loyalty through strong service quality and trust. However, continuous improvements in transparency, responsiveness, and user engagement are essential to deepen customer satisfaction and encourage long-term loyalty

Understanding the Determinants of Hybrid Entrepreneurship in Cameroon

    No full text
This research investigates the determinants of hybrid entrepreneurship in Cameroon, aiming to understand its impact on the country\u27s economic development. To meet this objective, the theoretical part of the work laid on the theory of planned action and the resource-based view theory. The paper\u27s theoretical framework draws from established theories, including Harry Markowitz\u27s portfolio theory and Ajzen\u27s theory of planned behaviour. The empirical aspect of this research work consisted of a quantitative research based on deductive reasoning. We therefore collected data using a survey questionnaire on a reasonable sample of 57 hybrid entrepreneurs out of a hundred of them as initially targeted. The results obtained show that the individual characteristics and the contextual variables of the entrepreneurs justify their choice to become hybrid entrepreneurs. As far as individual characteristics are concerned, the results show that self-accomplishment and personal independence are the factors that motivate most to embark on hybrid entrepreneurship. As for contextual factors, access to financing appears to be the main factor. Meanwhile, the passion to become an entrepreneur does not explain their commitment to hybrid entrepreneurship

The Influence of Product Quality on Repurchase Intention Mediated by Customer Satisfaction: A Case Study of Chitato Potato Chips in Bandung City

    No full text
Aims: This study aims to examine the influence of product quality on repurchase intention of Chitato potato chips in Bandung City, with a specific focus on the mediating role of customer satisfaction. It seeks to test four hypotheses related to the direct and indirect effects of product quality on consumer behavior. Study Design: This research employs a correlational quantitative approach using a descriptive survey method to explore relationships among variables. Place and Duration of Study: The research was conducted in Bandung City from November 2024 to February 2025. Methodology: A total of 90 respondents aged 15 to 65 were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire employing a Likert scale. Analytical techniques included descriptive statistics, multiple regression, and the Sobel test for mediation. Assumption tests for normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity were also conducted. Results: Product quality significantly and positively influences both customer satisfaction (β = 0.805, p < 0.001) and repurchase intention (β = 0.797, p < 0.001). Customer satisfaction also has a significant effect on repurchase intention (β = 0.726, p = 0.015). Furthermore, the Sobel test confirms that customer satisfaction mediates the relationship between product quality and repurchase intention (t = 2.456 > 1.98). Conclusion: The study concludes that product quality significantly influences both customer satisfaction and repurchase intention of Chitato potato chip consumers in Bandung City. Moreover, customer satisfaction is a key mediating factor in the relationship between product quality and repurchase intention, and it also directly increases repurchase intention. The study contributes to consumer behavior literature by providing localized evidence from a low-involvement, sensory-driven FMCG category that is underrepresented in prior research. Practically, producers should maintain and improve product quality in taste, texture, aroma, and packaging to strengthen customer satisfaction and encourage repeat purchases. However, the findings are limited by the single-brand focus, geographic scope, and purposive sampling, suggesting that future studies should examine broader contexts and additional mediating or moderating variables
