Understanding Psychological Contract Breach in Clinical Psychology Internships: A Thematic Analysis
Aims: The supervisor-supervisee relationship, especially in the context of clinical supervision of postgraduate interns, brings complexity to the gatekeeping functions of the clinical supervisor. In Industrial and Organizational Psychology, supervisor-supervisee relationships and exchange have been investigated through the lens of psychological contract (PC) and psychological contract breach (PCB), which are concepts associated with the formation of workplace expectations and those instances when expectations go unmet and lead to frustration. To date, there are no qualitative studies that specifically investigate clinical psychology interns’ experiences of psychological contract formation (PCF), psychological contract (PC), and psychological contract breach (PCB). More so, there is a perceived inadequacy in clinical supervision research in the field of clinical psychology and counseling psychology in the Philippines. There is a gap in determining to what extent are the expectations of clinical psychology interns being met by their clinical supervisors during internships. This qualitative research investigated the meaning Filipino postgraduate clinical psychology interns ascribed to their experiences of PC and PCB. Specifically, it answers the research questions: 1) how a psychological contract is formed and, 2) how a psychological contract breach occurs.
Study Design: A Qualitative Design was primarily chosen given that research on PC and PCB often investigated these phenomena using quantitative approaches. In addition, a qualitative design makes it possible for the clinical psychology interns to fully describe and clarify experiences related to PCF, PC, and PCB.
Methodology: Specifically, in-depth Interviews were carried out with 6 research participants (2 females and 4 males with age range from 24-52 years old) from different parts of the Philippines. 3 participants are from Metro Manila, and the other 3 are based in Davao.
Data Analysis: Theoretical Thematic Analysis was carried out wherein the themes and categories used for the coding were theorized based on the literature on PCF, PC, and PCB.
Results and Conclusion: This qualitative research found that psychological contract formation evolves over time depending on the interplay of between obligations and expectations. Experiences of psychological contract breach are based on perceived inadequate training, inadequate supervision, neglecting responsibilities, and not ideal internship set-up. The study highlights how clinical supervisors are expected to provide more adequate training, mentoring, and coaching instead of just passing on their and an organization’s workload to the interns. Obligations and expectations checks in clinical supervision should be approached as a reiterative process
Standardized Reporting of Statistical Results in APA Format: Enhancing Clarity, Transparency, and Reproducibility in Research
This paper discusses the essential components and guidelines for reporting statistical results in research using the American Psychological Association (APA) format. The accurate presentation of statistical results is critical for ensuring clarity, transparency, and reproducibility in scientific studies. The APA manual provides a standardized structure for reporting statistical findings, which allows researchers to effectively communicate their results and enables replication by other researchers. Key aspects of statistical reporting in APA format include descriptive statistics, hypothesis testing, correlation analysis, regression results, and the use of tables and figures. Descriptive statistics, such as means, standard deviations, and skewness, are foundational for summarizing data before more complex analyses are performed. Hypothesis testing involves reporting test statistics, p-values, and effect sizes, with emphasis on both statistical significance and practical relevance. The paper also explores the importance of regression results in understanding relationships between variables, highlighting the need for clear presentation of coefficients, R-squared values, and effect sizes. Moreover, it emphasizes the use of tables and figures to visualize trends and relationships, which aids in the comprehension of complex data. The discussion extends to advanced analyses, including correlation and analysis of variance (ANOVA) with its variations like ANCOVA. The integration of effect size reporting in all statistical analyses is recommended to provide a more comprehensive understanding of research findings. By adhering to APA guidelines, researchers can enhance the reproducibility and integrity of their findings, ultimately advancing scientific knowledge

Bolstering Durability Skills of Educators and Occupational Commitment of Teachers in Public Elementary Schools
This study aimed to examine the significant relationship between bolstering durability skills and occupational commitment among public elementary school teachers. A descriptive-correlational research design was employed, with 132 elementary school teachers from public schools in Malalag District, Division of Davao del Sur, participating as respondents of this study. Data were collected using adapted standardized questionnaires and analyzed using mean, standard deviation (SD), Pearson product-moment correlation, and multiple linear regression analyses. The results showed that both bolstering durability skills and occupational commitment were at very high levels among teachers. Correlation analysis revealed a strong positive relationship between bolstering durability skills and occupational commitment. Furthermore, multiple regression analysis indicated that among the domains of durability skills, supportive work environment, stress management, and sense of purpose and motivation significantly influenced occupational commitment, with supportive work environment having the strongest impact. Meanwhile, emotional resilience, adaptability and flexibility, and self-care and work-life balance were found to have no significant effect on occupational commitment. Based on these findings, it is recommended that school administrators prioritize creating supportive work environments, provide stress management resources, and foster teachers’ sense of purpose through motivation and professional development. These strategies may enhance teacher resilience, promote occupational commitment, and contribute to a more stable and effective educational workforce
Motivation and Self-efficacy among Electrical Technology Students: An Analytical Study
This study investigated the level of motivation and perceived self-efficacy among students enrolled in the Electrical Technology course at a state college during the first semester of the academic year 2024–2025. The study aimed to determine how motivated and confident students were in pursuing the course and performing both theoretical and practical tasks. Using a descriptive-survey research design, data were collected from 84 purposively selected students representing different senior high school strands. A structured questionnaire was utilized, consisting of three sections: respondents’ profile, a 10-item Motivation Rating Scale, and a 10-item Perceived Self-Efficacy Scale. The data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, and weighted mean to interpret the level of motivation and self-efficacy. Findings revealed that students exhibited very high motivation (overall mean = 3.38) and very high self-efficacy (overall mean = 3.28) in pursuing their Electrical Technology course. Respondents demonstrated enthusiasm in learning new electrical concepts, attending classes, and engaging in practical projects, indicating strong intrinsic motivation and confidence in hands-on skills. However, areas of low motivation and self-efficacy were noted in independent study, understanding difficult concepts, and exam preparation, suggesting that some students still struggle with self-regulated learning and time management. These results imply that while students are generally confident and motivated, targeted instructional strategies are needed to strengthen persistence and autonomous learning. The study concludes that fostering both motivation and self-efficacy is essential in improving student performance in technical-vocational education. Educators are encouraged to implement project-based learning, mentoring, and continuous feedback to build mastery and confidence. Policy makers should support programs promoting self-directed learning, access to modern facilities, and teacher training to sustain student engagement and ensure higher retention and employability in Electrical Technology programs
A Pilot Study Evaluating Medication Adherence in Geriatric Patients with Chronic Conditions
Introduction: More established grown-ups are more inclined to ongoing circumstances and intermittent ailment like hypertension, diabetes mellitus, respiratory messes and so on which might require persistent prescription with different medications. Unfortunate consistency in this age bunch represents medicine wastage with the inflated cost of medical care and significant deterioration of the sickness with disability of death. A large portion of the human and financial expenses related to non-adherence can be tried not by further developing prescription adherence. Typically, geriatric patients have different co-morbidities, which can antagonistically influence drug consistence. Our review recognizes different reasons liable for low adherence.
Aim: To assess the level of medication compliance in the geriatric patients with chronic conditions and also analyze the reason behind the non-adherence.
Materials and methods: The study subjects were assessed by using 8 structured questionnaires as per modified morisky medication adherence scale(MMAS).
Results: A total of 88 subjects of geriatric patients with chronic conditions were assessed for the level of compliance for long term medications. The compliance level was assessed by interviewing patients with 8 item structured questionnaires as per Modified Morisky Medication Adherence Scale (MMAS). The level of compliance was high in 34 and moderate in 39 and low in 15 of the study subjects.
Conclusion: To further develop drug adherence it is fundamental to recognize the purposes for the non-adherence like confounded systems, obliviousness about the sickness and inconveniences, physical and financial problems, forgetfulness, accessibility issues and absence of section of land providers and so on. Geriatric patients particularly tend to quit taking drugs by their own this can make it hard to anticipate improvement in the adherence. So, medication consistency is a vital element which increments helpful result
Flexural Behavior of Reinforced Concrete Beams with Openings Created by PVC Pipes: An Experimental and Numerical Study
It is a very common practice in several countries to find service pipes passing through beams transversely and vertically during construction. This practice has the potential of threatening the full-strength capacity of the structural element. This paper presents an experimental and numerical investigation on the flexural, deflection and crack performance of reinforced concrete (RC) beams with embedded conduit pipes. A total of ten (10) reinforced concrete beams were made and tested. Two of the RC beams served as control beams while the remaining eight RC beams had embedded conduit pipes of different sizes (50mm and 100mm) and at different positions (vertical and transverse). Loads were applied in increments of 2kN to the beams until failure. From the experimental results, the two control beams had an average failure load of 50kN, while the RC beams embedded with conduit pipes had an average failure load capacity of 44.75kN, which represents a 10.5% reduction. Similarly, the control beams had an average experimental first crack load of 17kN, whereas the conduit pipe embedded beams averaged 16.88kN first crack load. The RC beams with conduit pipes inserted transversely recorded an average failure load of 43kN, lower than RC beams with conduit pipes inserted vertically, which had an average failure load of 46.5KN. Reinforced concrete beams embedded with PVC pipes were observed to produce more cracks than the control beams, especially at the openings due to stress concentration. The embedment of PVC pipes in the beams resulted in a significant 20.47% increase in the average mid-span deflection. The numerical simulation of the beams performed with ABAQUS software demonstrated an adequate estimate with the experimental results obtained. The percentage variation between the ultimate load results obtained from the experimental test and finite element analysis ranged from 2% to 9%
Visitor Satisfaction of Agritourism on the Island of Lombok, Indonesia
This research aims to analyze the level of visitor satisfaction, the factors that affect visitor satisfaction, and the visitor satisfaction index, and design a strategy for developing agritourism attractions on the island of Lombok. The method used in this research is quantitative, supported by a qualitative approach. The respondents were 150, and the sampling technique used convenience sampling. Data analysis used included Structural Equation Modeling - Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS), Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI), and Importance Performance Analysis (IPA). The results showed visitor satisfaction, with the highest percentage in the manager\u27s friendliness indicator and the lowest percentage in the information media facilities indicator. Factors directly influencing visitor satisfaction include price, manager services, and the agritourism environment.
