INSTAGRAMABLE BACKDROP FOR KAED HERITAGE LIVING LAB
This research aims to study the backdrop design features of Rumah Kutai, a living Malay heritage lab of Kulliyyah of Architecture and Environmental Design (KAED) for the university project. The objectives of the study are to identify the existing backdrop design elements for the project references and to formulate the appropriate backdrop design that applies to the context. The rapid development of information technology nowadays and the domination of the internet as the medium to the contemporary human activities are the factors in the transformation of this heritage living lab into an ‘instagramable architectural’ place. Methodologically, three case studies were selected based on different purposes; as a signage and landmark of a place, a monument of a place, and a public gathering space. The attributes of the design elements, materials, techniques of installation and colour selection were studied with respect to the contextual issues and requirements.

SELANGOR STATE STRUCTURE PLAN (SSP): A WAY FORWARD TO 2035
State Structure Plan (SSP) is a document that prepare a planning framework that will guide and control the state’s physical development as required under the Town and Country Planning Act 1976 (Act 172). The study area is the Selangor State, located on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia. This study adopts the process of state structure plan preparation in accordance toPlanMalaysia’s Manual. The development concept proposed in the plan is “Interdependent Polycentric Economic Regionâ€, defined as economic corridor and growth centres that are depending on one and another. There are 5 development thrusts with 32 policies that are being proposed. From the policies, a total of 9 high impact projects being proposed for the state ofSelangor. Figure 1 below depicts the process and stages involved in the preparation of a State Structure Plan.

NATURE & STRUCTURE: MERGING BLUE & GREEN LANDSCAPE FOR HOLISTIC WELL BEING AT METROPOLITAN BATU PARK
This project is about enhancing the holistic well-being of the community around Metropolitan Batu Park and Sungai Batu Retention Pond that might have facethe urban issues in term of environment, social and economy aspect. Therefore this project is proposed to create an integration of the blue and green landscape element, infrastructure and technology in merging these two area into one family park that can give the platform in spreading the positive wellbeing effect to the users. The project is located at Metropolitan Batu Park which is 33 acres and Sungai Batu Retention Pond which is 253 acres. The total area is 286 acres. Figure 1 shows the key and location plan of the selected site. Both area is classified as zone A (Sungai Batu Retention Pond) that consist of natural retention pond area that is not accessible to public engagement, and Zone B (Metropolitan Batu Park) which is a lake park consist of few recreational activities however is not being fully utilized due to maintenance problem Both water bodies of these two area is from the exmining open pit that have turned into beautiful lakes. Figure 2 shows the zoning area between these two parks throughout the planning process and the demographic data of the community area. This two zone is separated by Jalan 1/18D, a newly constructed road crossing the area connected to the main road
BITARA – SIDECAR MOTORCYCLE FOR SERVICE-ORIENTED MOBILEPRENUER
This project aims to develop an innovative sidecar motorcycle for a mobile entrepreneur or mobileprenuer who runs a service-oriented business. There are three kinds of data collection methods: line-up study, a questionnaire survey and interviews. The line-up study has been done to identify 10 existing sidecar motorcycles with their various characteristics such as material, designfeatures, and colour. The questionnaire survey was carried out among 100 mobile entrepreneurs in Kuala Lumpur to obtain the mobile render perception towards the design features. The questionnaire has four main sections: demographic, issues, design features and comments. The interview session was done with one representative from the industry to obtain the latest information on the sidecar motorcycle. The line-up study found that aluminum is one of the suitable material, which is used for sidecar motorcycle because of its practicality. Various design feature ideas can be applied further for sidecar motorcycle inthe local market. The survey outcomes showed that the existing sidecar in Malaysia does not have the wide space for business purposes such as storage system and other required design features. From the case study, it is found that refurbishment on the sidecar motorcycle has been made by the mobileprenuer, which is lacking in safety and other design features. As a finding, there is a need to propose a sidecar motorcycle with new design features that will not compromise the safety requirement and can fit various types of business. BITARA is a sidecar motorcycle for mobileprenuer. BITARA has a potential as the start-up kit in mobilepreneur in improving the existing mobileprenuer business in Malaysian’s rural, sub-rural and city area.

PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT OF ECO-PARK AT UNIVERSITI PUTRA MALAYSIA (UPM)
The following project paper puts forward a proposal for an Eco-Park in Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), a higher educational institute located in the state of Selangor in Malaysia. The proposed site has a strategic location because of its proximity to the highway, a commuting line and is situated near to a major city (i.e. Kuala Lumpur). The natural features present are namely a lake, a stretch of river and a secondary forest. The potential social benefit from the development of the Eco-Park is that it can serve as a recreational space that is easily accessible by residents, students and the general public. Meanwhile, the environmental benefits of the Eco-Park are that it will serve as a governed space for the preservation of the natural features (i.e. vegetation and water bodies), which will potentially improve the ecosystem services in the proposed location. An added benefit of the park is that it can promote a scenic view for the public commuting through the area. Presently, a Metro Transit Line (MRT) is in construction next to the proposed site; thus, source of funding can be channelled by the MRT developer as a means to strike a balance for clearing of the area

ABLUTION FURNITURE FOR MULTIPLE USER (AFME)
Many mosques in Malaysia have several different types of ablutions platform; with a seat or without a seat. The ablution platforms are designed to assist Muslim ritual activity, which are a pre-requisite before performing their 5 times prayer daily. Thus, it is important to has an ergonomic, safe and hygiene ablution platform including its furniture to ensure the effectiveness of the ablution activity. This research recommended AFME as one of the option to help the Muslim users in their ablution activity
HOUSING FOR 3 GENERATION WITH APPLICATION OF UNIVERSAL DESIGN (SENTUL, KUALA LUMPUR)
The main objective for this paper is to obtain a framework to allow adaptable and flexible housing solution for multi-generational living by applying universal design approach to make it more user friendly. Malaysian population shall reach 32 million by 2020, and almost 70 percent will be in urban area by 2020, today, 63.8 percent is urbanized. Malaysia will also reach ageing nation and the projection of 15 percent of the population will be aged 60 and above in 2050. This calls for a new housing trend that will address these issues. Application of universal design during pre-construction should be encouraged. The methodology applied is by using table research and literature review. Primary data from qualitative approach, including interviews, observation and questionnaire will be analysed. Secondary data from literature, using content analysis will be carried out. This paper will conclude by producing a set of design criteria for three generation housing, which applied universal design approach, which promote financially rewarding to both developers and residents, and to create as a catalyst for the future housing development in Malaysia
URBAN DOCKLAND
South Port Klang is previously known as Port Swettenham. It is a National Load Centre and being managed by the Port Klang Authorities (PKA) which handle all sort of developments in this area. It also has linkages with 600 ports across 10 countries. Thelocation is very strategic as it is only 40km from Kuala Lumpur and become one of the main gateways into Malaysia. This area is very active with the load and unloading cargo and passengers every day. However, South Port Klang is still struggling with some issues such as lack of heritage value, lots of abandoned areas and flooding. As for that reasons, this design thesis have the goal to rejuvenate Port Klang as an useful Urban Dockland which does not only help in promoting trade and commerce activities but also creating a green corridor for the users as well as for surrounding environment. In order to achieve the goal of this design thesis, several objectives have been listed to guide the design thesis process such as to rejuvenate heritage value in this area as to highlight its unique identity, to revitalise abandoned area by transforming it to be green space for the benefits of users & environment and to provide green infrastructure in creating a sustainable and conducive living for this area. Thus, this study articulates the strategies for a proposal on South Port Klang derived from several methods which are direct observation, document analysis and direct interview on special person and public. As a result, a concept of “Antiquarian Fusion†has been implemented in this design proposal to achieve the objectives and giving a new breath by mixing urban and heritage value to this area. Therefore, there are some solutions formulated through landscape design to cater all the needs of this site as well as the needs for target users and also the environment.
