APPROACHING BEHAVIOUR TREATMENT ON A PLAYSET FURNITURE
Get PDFGood Dino is a concept that develops playset furniture to functions as educational equipment with storages, playground, and space decoration. The concept was approached through behaviour control to suggest kids keeping their things (like toys and equipment) and playing the slide as a reward. The Dino approach is recognised as a behavioural treatment for children who may have problems with attention span, following instruction, making careless mistakes, inattentive and hyperactive. Emotional Design concept from Interaction Design was adapted to conceptualise the approach. Referring to Don Norman’s emotional design concept, there is a need to have a good interaction between human and product. Three levels of Emotional Design by Don Norman are i) Visceral, ii) Behavioural, and iii) Reflective. This paper describes each level of the design concept that demonstrates the interaction between human and product.

Get PDFWaterfront developments have received attention from the Malaysian government for their East Coast Economy Region (ECER). Kuala Terengganu has transformed the urban master plan to be more comprehensive, especially for the Tourism industry. Furthermore, the construction of the new Terengganu Drawbridge has positive and some negative impacts on the village’s surrounding economy and the cultural heritage, especially Kg. Seberang Takir. This landscape development project at Seberang Takir, Terengganu, along the Terengganu estuary near Seberang Takir beach, is a 39 acres site. Kg. Seberang Takir is rich in its cultural heritage, such as Batik and Bot Penambang (boat transport). The site is by water bodies, i.e. Terengganu estuary, facing Kuala Terengganu town. This project aims to create spaces at Kg Seberang Takir in terms of cultural heritage, economy, and environmental aspects that have been affected by the fast development around it. The design concept is ‘Warisan Persisir Air’, literally meaning inherited coastal property by the sea. The design strategies of ‘Harborscape Tourism’ emphasise the three aspects - cultural heritage, economy and environment. The design proposals are Seberang Takir Resort and other tourism facilities such as boardwalk and restaurants. An enhancement imitative of the existing Bot Penambang jetty is made by proposing an art and craft centre for batik, boat craft and accommodating fisheries enhancement activities such as ikan bilis, belacan and keropok production centre. Health is one of the prevailing issues faced by senior citizens that needs consideration. Therefore, this project proposed implementing a sustainable landscape design that will promote a healthy environment for senior citizens that can give long term impacts to their quality of life. This project is located in a residential area (Section 24) where senior citizens live. Section 24 Shah Alam has a theme of vegetation, and the name of each street with both Roman and Jawi symbolizes the identity of Shah Alam as “Bandaraya Melayu”. Therefore, observation, literature review and phone interview used to produce a comprehensive literature review on elderly and the benefits of sustainable landscape design to their health. Forest plays a significant role in maintaining the balance cycle of the global ecosystem. The rainforest in Malaysia has a rich biodiversity, but it is now in danger of disappearing due to excessive deforestation. The proposed architectural solution comes in the form of an “Exploratorium,” an architectural project integrated with a rainforest research centre. This proposed architectural solution will enable the general public to learn and understand the significance of preserving the rainforest by encouraging them to experience the tropical rainforest ecosystem. The proposed Exploratorium will have facilities, such as interactive galleries, series of forest discovery spaces, treehouses, travel pods, and watchtowers. Indeed, designing the Exploratorium reconnects the division betweenhumans and nature and responds to the call of SDG16, which is to protect, restore, and promote sustainableuse of terrestrial ecosystems

Thoracica were used to study the nest structure and growth, foraging activity and morphometryof worker bee. This review covers all items pertaining to the whole state development strategies, policies and indicatives areas. The review also commences if there is new or alterations on national plan policies or sectoral policies, which incorporated the alterations onpolicies at state level. It is in a way to incorporate the change of development trend intervened. The review of Selangor State Structure Plan 2035 consists of 46 policies, 160 strategies and 25 high impact proposals.

UPCYCLING ECO-VILLAGE IN PERHENTIAN KECIL ISLAND
Get PDFUpcycling and recycling are among the components under solid waste management which needs to be carried out in order to make solid waste management successful in Malaysian marine park islands. Current issues at marine park islands are accumulation of solid waste in the sea which is destroying the marine ecosystem. In Malaysia, about 80% people are aware about the importance of recycling. However, not many people understand the concept of upcycling especially in marine park islands. Some may have misunderstood the difference between upcycling and recycling. This research focuses on what are the best and new solutions to educate islanders on the application of both upcycling and recycling at Perhentian Kecil Island. The aims of the research are to reduce solid waste in Perhentian Kecil Island and to provide a platform for people to learn the entire process turning waste into valuable products. An upcycling eco-village is proposed to improve the knowledge of upcycling and recycling. Interviews, questionnaires, observation and case studies techniques were used tocollect the data. The findings were used to formulate design brief and schedule of accommodation for upcycling and recycling centre. The centre will help to reduce the issues of solid waste accumulation on the marine park islands
