Digital storytelling in EFL teaching in Kazakhstan
Get PDFThe purpose of this paper is to study the use of digital storytelling in teaching English as a foreign language in Kazakhstani educational institutions. To examine English teachers’ experiences, practices, and attitudes towards using digital storytelling in the teaching process, we utilized semi-structured interviews. The study was conducted among in-service early career English teachers working in public and private secondary schools. The findings suggest that English teachers use digital storytelling in their teaching but not very frequently. Study participants also indicated that they would benefit from additional training and experience with using digital storytelling as a teaching technique in their work. According to the participants, the main barriers to using digital storytelling in the classroom are the lack of technology, teachers’ methodological preparation, and time limitations. Despite these barriers, the teachers who participated in the study appreciate the substantial benefits of using digital storytelling in teaching English such as enhanced opportunities for developing students’ speaking skills, creativity, and critical thinking

The purpose of the research is to study the influence of game forms of teaching on increasing students’ activity in mathematics lessons in a distance mode and on increasing students’ activity through the use of game forms. The study involved 51 students in grade 7, 25 teachers shared the types of games used in the lesson, as well as methods. Having online lessons in a playful way allows the teacher to set learning objectives outside the box, which increases students’ interest in learning and application in the classroom, contributing to the rapid achievement of learning goals. Based on the results of the analysis of pedagogical literature, the definition of game technology in relation to mathematical disciplines was formulated: it is a complex of pedagogical tools, methods, and forms that contribute to an increase in the cognitive activity of students, the main of which will be original tasks, a variety of didactic and methodological techniques and game situations in practical classes

This paper makes comparison research and discusses four different types of sorting algorithms: bubble sort, quick sort, insertion sort, and merge sort. TIME SERIES ANALYSIS TO FORECAST COVID-19 CASES IN CENTRAL ASIA
No full textAbstract. According to the study, the cases are expected to increase in the upcoming days. An exponential rise in the number of cases is also noticeable in a time series analysis. The current forecast models are expected to help the government and medical professionals plan for future circumstances and enhance healthcare system readiness. The proposed study employs a support vector regression model for forecasting the overall number of deaths, recovered cases, cumulative number of reported cases, and regular case count. The starting information is retrieved from the Ist of March to the 30th of April, 2021 (61 Days). The model predicts deaths, recoveries, and the total number of confirmed cases with an accuracy of over 97 percent, and regular new cases with an accuracy of 87 percent. The findings point to a Gaussian reduction in the number of cases, which may take another 3 to 4 months to reach the bare minimum of no new cases registered
SPEECH RECOGNITION BASED ON CONVENTIONAL NEURAL NETWORKS
Get PDFAbstract. In this research work, the problem of speech recognition is considered in the form of an analysis of the numbers from 1 to 10 recorded by the speaker on the dictaphone. The paper uses the method of recognizing the spectrogram of an audio signal using convolutional neural networks. Also written and implemented an algorithm for processing input data, and an algorithm for recognizing spoken words. In this work, the quality of recognition was assessed for a different number of convolutional layers. A comparison of the recognition quality is made in cases when the input data for the network are the spectrogram of the audio signal or the first two formants extracted from it. The recognition algorithm was tested using examples of male and female voices with different pronunciation lengths
TEACHING ENGLISH TO NON-NATIVE STUDENTS BY LESSON STUDY METHOD
No full textAbstract. This article examines the effectiveness and effects of the lesson study method on University non-native students and Lecturers. The participants of the study were 10 University students and three lecturers from a nearby University. The research questions formulated were the effects of the lesson study method on students, the effects of the method on lecturers, and the advantages and disadvantages. The information gathered mainly involves the qualitative research method: surveys, observations, Student works, and questionnaires. Close analysis of the data obtained reflected that the lesson study method improved the teachers' instructional strategies as far as self-reflection, corporative learning, and problem-solving is concerned. However, on the part of students, lesson study recorded positive remarks on some subjects but did not bear many fruits on the students' understanding and achievement

No full textAbstract The given article deals with the essence of the integrated lessons and their value in the modern educational process. The necessity to conduct the integrated lessons is shown on the basis of concrete examples. Characteristics of the structure of the integrated lessons are revealed in the article. In today's information society, the ability to use modern information technology is equivalent to the necessary reading and writing skills for every member of society. Accordingly, the key task is the formation of the information culture of students, that is, to teach them to effectively use information in everyday life, developing the skills of searching, analyzing, processing, storing and disseminating information. This article shows the benefits of using integrated lessons. In addition to engaging students in an appropriate curriculum, encouraging students to discover the connections between mathematics and science helps show students why learning mathematics is valuable. Opportunities for the comprehensive teaching of mathematics and computer science were identified

Тіпті, түркі тілдері жататын түрік тілінен алынған кірме сөздер, алдымен орыс тіліне, одан кейін орыс тілінің фонетикалық ерекшелігі бойынша қазақ тіліне енген. Бірақ бұл сөздердің фонетикалық құрамы алдымен түрік тілінің төл дыбыстарынан жасалған, одан әрі түрік тілінен орыс тіліне ауысқан шақта орыс тілінің төл дыбыстары арқылы игеріліп орфографияланған.
