THE LACK OF GAMIFICATION METHODS IN E-LEARNING
E-learning is rapidly growing as an essential part of our life due to the pandemic. The lack of involvement and motivation within students during lessons is the main weakness of distance learning. Due to engagement issues at online conversations, students often do not attend classes or tend to mute lessons on the hardware level. Ignoring these problems can cause a decline in the level of education and the emergence of untrained personnel. This article discusses problems of E-Learning such as the lack of motivation and involvement, then examines the need for research on gamification in education that would be one of the solutions to these problems. Also, it considers the method of using virtual reality in education as a possible solution. The article aims to analyze these issues and appropriate studies on this subject to identify the lack of proper research on gamification in education. The majority of the proposed researches were conducted at the pre-pandemic time. Therefore, this field requires researches to identify new methods of the learning process that would be applicable in the modern world of online education
PUBLIC SCHOOL TEACHERS’ ATTITUDE TOWARD TEACHING MATHEMATICS WITH TECHNOLOGY
Abstract The 21st century is impossible to imagine without technology. Everyone knows that online learning is not surprising in the current pandemic. However, is the use of these technologies always convenient for the teacher and how effectively can teachers use the technology in their lessons? The article discusses the approach of secondary school teachers to the learning process using digital technologies. The main forms of teaching mathematics using digital technologies are also presented. In particular, I will consider the problems faced by teachers and the benefits of digital learning. In this article, we used a survey tool, during which we see that many secondary school teachers in Kazakhstan have a positive attitude to digital education and that since the beginning of the pandemic period, teachers have developed professionally in the process of using technology. Analyzing the responses to the survey, it was shown that teachers are highly qualified in the use of technology and actively use technology in their lessons
Application of TPB on the Saving Intention among the Students of Community Colleges: Moderating Effect of Mobile Applications
The main objective of this study is to examine the saving intention among the Community College students from the Planned Behavior Theory (TPB) perspective and to investigate whether the proposed relationships are contingent upon their perceptions towards mobile applications. In order to achieve the objectives, a survey study was conducted among 117 community college students in Kedah, Selangor, Perak in Malaysia. PLS test results revealed that attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavior control 'have' significantly influence students' intention to saving. However, mobile applications do not has moderate direct relationships. In conclusion, this study is significant as the understanding of saving behavior is essential not only for future retirement and investment plans of younger generations but also for their financial resilience when exposed to adverse shocks such as COVID-19
Estimation of Vaccination Price through Mathematical Epidemic Models to Optimize the Government Cost
These days, humanity is faced with a global Coronavirus pandemic problem, which entails a financial crisis, so the governments want to minimize their financial loss. In this project work by using the epidemic mathematical model we consider on the basic reproduction number, which is important parameter in the epidemiology and also on the optimization problem about how much should be a discount for the vaccination to optimize the government revenue. During this study, we get acquainted with the following topics: mathematical modelling, dynamical systems, epidemic models, stability analysis, optimization methods, simulations on software and etc. Initially, we constructed the epidemic model for COVID-19 and separated infectious individuals by two groups, based on the compartmental SIR model and after that by using two different approaches to analyze the model, namely, Linearization (Hartman-Grobman) and Next Generation matrix method, we obtained the most important formula in epidemiology: the basic reproduction number 1.3. To solve the government cost, we constructed the government cost function which takes into account the cost of vaccination, the cost of treatment, the average wage of citizens. By using the software we solved numerically the system of nonlinear differential equations of our epidemic model, also we optimized the governmental cost function depending on a vaccination discount and obtained the main result of applied part of our project work 1.6, that the government cost is minimized with making the vaccination fully free of charge for citizens. The study will be useful for the Government of Kazakhstan in predicting the number of infectious individuals as well as in planning the income revenue. By changing the initial parameters in our epidemic model, it is easy compute the basic reproduction number and Government cost function for any country
POST-SOVIET ERA NEOLIBERALISM AND PRIVATIZATION IN KAZAKHSTAN’S HIGHER EDUCATION SYSTEM
Abstract. By applying grounded theory as a methodological tool and using higher education policy documents and the speeches of the former president of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev (1991-2019), I examined the changes that occurred in higher education system in Kazakhstan based on neoliberalism. Kazakhstan has transition to higher education policies based upon core neoliberal ideas, such as privatization, meritocracy, individualism, self-reliance, and competition. However, neoliberal policies in Kazakhstan has been influenced by the local political and governance system. Specifically, as it was found, the first president of the Republic of Kazakhstan has maintained a crucial position in shaping the contemporary higher education policies. With Nazarbayev’s initiative, significant educational projects that meet core neoliberal ideas have been introduced and financially and politically prioritized despite the lack of evidence of their effectiveness. The analysis of the policy documents has revealed that higher education policy changes were informed by autocratic and leader-centric neoliberal system
DEVELOPMENT OF MOBILE APPLICATION FOR HEALTHY MATERNAL BEHAVIOR IN ORDER TO REDUCE FETAL MORTALITY
Abstract Pregnant women are not sufficiently analyzed in scientific studies, which leads to deficiencies in evidence-based treatment guidelines. There are more than two billion smartphone users in the world, which allows researchers to easily and inexpensively conduct large-scale studies using mobile applications, especially among pregnant women, whose use is extremely high, especially as an information channel. This is the first application for pregnancy research, that is, a popular application for them, for self-monitoring and training of expectant mothers. Due to the large-scale and simplified collection of data obtained through surveys, using the application, we strive to improve our understanding of the factors contributing to a healthy pregnancy, both for the mother and the developing fetus. In Kazakhstan, there are many mobile applications that provide only basic data, such as a reminder of a meeting with a doctor, a list of medical institutions, nearest pharmacies, surveys of consumers of medical services, etc. And our application is different in that pregnant women will receive useful information in addition to monitoring, as well as answers to their questions, that is, recommendations on their questions. And also this application will be sent for our country, namely for our mentality, but in the future we are considering, by improving this application, to try to launch them abroad
ABUNDANCE OF PLASTIC: AN IGNORED TOXIN IN FOOD INDUSTRY
Abstract Access to sufficient amounts of safe and nutritious food is key to sustaining life and promoting good health. The presence of toxins and chemicals in food is an emerging concern. Food gets contaminated either naturally or through certain unwise activities in the food industry. Contamination by heavy metal in food occurs mainly through pollution of air, water and soil. The continuous use of plastic in food and beverage packaging has exposed the humans to numerous health hazards. We are using the plastics in one or the other form, at homes, offices, functions and at most in the delivery of the food items. All plastic, from macro to nano scale are concerned to leach and adsorb hazardous substances. Single-use plastic is one of the dangerous things used world-wide. The harmful chemicals associated with plastics can be divided into three categories: ingredients of the plastic material, byproducts of manufacturing and chemicals adsorbed from the environment. The possible toxicological responses caused by plastic can thus be a combination of all of these chemicals. Discussing the harmful effects of its use on the human health is an objective of the study. The paper concludes that various kinds of plastic are not only harmful for the environment, but directly affects the human health. The release of toxic compounds has shown to lead to health complications in non-humans as well. It is high time that the policy-makers take strict action at earliest and protect the health of the society
