    Green Synthesis and Characterization of Silver and Zinc Nanoparticles Using Pyracantha coccinea M. Roem and Their Biological Activities

    In this study, silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) and zinc nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) were synthesized using extracts prepared from the fruits of Pyracantha coccinea M. Roem with a green chemistry method. Synthesized nanoparticles were characterized using UV–visible spectrophotometry, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction technique (XRD), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). After characterization studies, antibacterial, antibiofilm, antiquorum sensing, and anticancer activities of AgNPs and ZnO NPs were investigated. According to the results of antibacterial activity tests performed using the broth dilution method, ZnO NPs were found to be effective against Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 29213 (MSSA) and S. aureus ATCC 43300 (MRSA), and AgNPs were found to be effective against Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27853. Besides, AgNPs and ZnO NPs showed 88.5% and 39.98% antibiofilm activity, respectively. The synthesized nanoparticles did not show any antiquorum sensing activity. L929 (mouse fibroblast cell line) used as a control healthy cell line, and MCF7 (breast cancer), C6 (rat glioblastoma), and HT-29 (colon cancer) cells were used in cell culture studies as cancer cell lines. As a result of the cell culture studies, it was determined that the two nanoparticles had cytotoxic effects on both the MCF7 and HT29 cell lines. However, both nanoparticles did not show a cytotoxic effect on glioma cells. Flow cytometry studies were performed with the structures found to be active. Apoptosis and cell cycle studies also gave results parallel to the MTT results and proved the activity of the new synthetic structures. The findings indicate that AgNPs and ZnO NPs synthesized by Pyracantha coccinea M. Roem with an environmentally friendly approach can be evaluated as potential antimicrobial and anticancer agents in various biomedical applications

    AbstractBackgroundThe ERAS protocol consists of evidence-based interventions designed to accelerate postoperative recovery. Given their active role in surgical care, nurses play a crucial part in the adoption and implementation of this protocol, thereby positively influencing patient outcomes.AimThis bibliometric study provides a comprehensive and integrative review of global literature on the use of the postsurgical Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocol in nursing research.DesignBibliometric analysis.MethodsData were retrieved from the Web of Science and Scopus databases on December 31, 2024. No time restrictions were applied, and all available records up to the search date were included. Analysis was conducted using the Biblioshiny application within the Bibliometrix R package.ResultsThe search identified 201 publications in Web of Science (first in 2001) and 201 in Scopus (first in 1979). In Web of Science, the most productive country was the United States, the leading institution was Linköping University, the most prolific author was A. Broström, and the most cited article (94 citations) was Silver JK’s 2015 study on cancer prehabilitation. The most frequent keywords were “enhanced recovery,” “surgery,” and “care.” In Scopus, China was the most productive country, The University of Texas was the leading institution, J.     Bu araştırma, Türkiye'deki hayat dışı sigorta endüstrisinde faaliyet gösteren şirketlerinin finansalperformansını ölçmek ve değerlendirmek için Gri LOPCOW ve Gri PIV yöntemlerini entegreeden yeni bir gri karar alma modeli önermektedir. Modelin uygulanabilirliğini ve etkinliğini testetmek için hayat dışı sigorta şirketlerinin finansal performansını karşılaştırmaya odaklanan birvaka çalışması gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu vaka çalışması, 2021-2023 yıllarını kapsamaktadır.Belirlenen finansal kriterlerin önem ağırlıkları Gri LOPCOW metodu kullanılarakhesaplanmıştır. Sigorta alternatiflerinin sıralanması sürecinde ise nispeten yeni bir yöntem olanGri PIV prosedürü tercih edilmiştir. Gri LOPCOW ağırlıklandırma sonuçlarına göre, sigortaşirketlerinin finansal performansına etki eden en önemli üç performans ölçütleri sırasıyla netalınan primlerin brüt alınan primlere oranı, faaliyet giderlerinin brüt alınan primlere oranı veözkaynak karlılık oranı olarak tespit edilmiştir.
