Challenges constraining diabetes management & insulin access in Pakistan and role of Novo Nordisk
Pakistan, type 2 diabetes affects approximately 32 million adults, making it a rising health concern. Due to a sharp rise in the disease\u27s incidence, Pakistan is now one of the most affected nations. It is now difficult to manage type 2 diabetes because of a number of socioeconomic and healthcare infrastructural issues. Patients face major obstacles due to the high costs of diabetes management and low level of diabetic awareness. Advanced diabetic drugs and insulin are costly. Individuals with diabetes have a substantial financial burden due to their high out-of-pocket medical expenses and the fact that over 24% of the population lives in poverty. In Pakistan, structural and economic problems impede the availability of insulin, impacting approximately 19.4 million individuals with diabetes. A low-income household\u27s monthly insulin expenses could make up as much as 30% of their whole income. Only over 50% of public health facilities have a regular supply of insulin, which exacerbates supply chain issues. Diabetic care is made even more difficult to access by inadequate healthcare facilities and a shortage of trained staff, particularly in rural locations. Resolving these issues requires focused approaches. It is critical to implement educational programs that help people become more aware of their diabetes and develop management strategies. Diabetes management can be enhanced by interactive training sessions and culturally adapted teaching materials. Increasing the number of qualified healthcare workers and fortifying the healthcare infrastructure can both be very important. With its sizable worldwide market share and sophisticated production capabilities, Novo Nordisk can play a crucial role in helping Pakistan address its insulin accessibility problems. Novo Nordisk can contribute to lowering the price of insulin and ensuring its best storage and transportation by utilizing their economies of scale and cold chain logistics. The study\u27s conclusion emphasizes the critical need for all-encompassing approaches to enhance diabetes care and low-cost insulin accessibility in Pakistan. To solve these issues and lessen the toll that diabetes has on individuals and the healthcare system, cooperation between pharmaceutical companies, medical experts, and the government is crucial. HR Policies and Practices to Determine the High Employee Turnover at The Bank of Punjab
This report examines the high employee turnover rate at the Bank of Punjab and its impact on the bank\u27s operational efficiency, financial performance, and its impact on the current employees. Employee turnover is a crucial issue, remarkably in the banking sector, whereby the loss of skilled employees can affect service continuity and increase recruitment and training costs. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the current HR policies and practices at the Bank of Punjab, identify the key factors contributing to employee turnover, and provide recommendations to enhance employee retention. The study employed a descriptive research design, using survey questionnaires to collect quantitative data from current and former employees of the bank. The survey focused on factors such as job satisfaction, career development opportunities, mentoring programs, rewards systems, and supervisor relationships. The data was analyzed through correlation analysis to identify a relationship between these factors and employee turnover intentions. Key findings from the survey indicate that the most important factors influencing employee turnover at the Bank of Punjab are uncompetitive compensation packages, limited career development opportunities, job and skills mismatch, poor working conditions, and lack of recognition for work done. These findings suggest that while the bank has established career development programs and mentoring initiatives, there is room for improvement in these areas to enhance employee satisfaction and loyalty. Additionally, the rewards system, including salary and bonuses, needs to be reviewed and adjusted to be perceived as fair and competitive within the market even though the general banking landscape in Pakistan is notorious for lower compensation and more focus on other benefits. The study concludes with several recommendations to reduce employee turnover at the Bank of Punjab. Some of which are enhancing career development programs by offering regular career planning sessions, improving the quality and accessibility of mentoring programs, optimizing the rewards system to ensure fairness and competitiveness, and fostering positive supervisor relationships through effective leadership training. By implementing these strategies, the Bank of Punjab can reduce turnover rates, retain skilled employees, and maintain its competitive edge in the banking industry

Informed sources said the federal cabinet during the PTI government had approved a major restructuring plan for the federal government and had decided to retain 325 federal government entities out of the total 441. However, despite the cabinet’s approval, the plan remained unimplemented because of bureaucracy’s reluctance

Status of disclosures is analyzed through comparison of both firms and the gap analysis using other international frameworks of environmental reporting. Data collection is done through published information and interviews from both companies’ representatives. Analysis is done through comparison of both companies and gap identification with international reporting. While both companies reporting initiatives are commendable, there are areas of further improvement in terms of reporting of Scope 2 & 3 emissions, improving gender diversity, ensuring sound practices for whistle blowing to improve the corporate governance and linking CEO remuneration to achievement on ESG targets
