Navigating Between Worlds: Cultural Isolation Among Third Culture Kids

    No full text
This research explores a range of experiences of Pakistani-origin Third Culture Kids (TCKs) who have lived in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. With much of the existing research on Third Culture Kids focusing on Western contexts, this study aims to shed light on the experiences of Third Culture Kids from South Asia, especially Pakistan, living in the unique socio-cultural environment of the GCC. Using a qualitative approach involving in-depth interviews, this research examines how varying levels of exposure to Pakistani culture, family involvement, and age influence the identity formation of Pakistani-origin Third Culture Kids. The findings reveal that that Pakistani-origin TCKs in the GCC face significant challenges in balancing their dual cultural identities during their adolescence, often experiencing feelings of cultural isolation and dissonance from both cultures. However, they eventually develop resilience through cultural hybridity around young adulthood, creating unique identities that allow them to navigate their multicultural environments. The study found the importance of the role of family support and its ability to help Third Culture Kids foster a positive relationship with their cultural identity and sense of self

In today\u27s fast-paced digital landscape, financial services have evolved significantly, with digital wallets becoming a cornerstone of modern banking. As such, D-Wallet Journey aims to delve deep into the realm of digital wallets to uncover the intricate patterns and behaviors that shape user experiences. At its core, our project involves data generation and modelling and seeks to unravel the unique threads of data woven within the vast tapestry of financial transactions. With each tap, swipe, and view, users leave behind breadcrumbs of data that hold invaluable insights into their preferences and experience. By employing advanced analytical techniques including Pareto analysis, multi-service usage patterns exploration, and user personas analysis, our goal is to drive tangible business impact by guiding businesses towards making informed decisions to optimize service offerings, enhanced customer experiences and strategic directions. The insights generated from this project using BI tools will serve as invaluable resources for product managers and the business alike. Armed with a comprehensive understanding of user preferences and behaviors, product managers can tailor their strategies to better meet the evolving needs of their target audience, leading to improved user satisfaction and retention. Additionally, insights into performance metrics such as GTV (Gross transaction value), AOV (Average order value), and ARPU (Average revenue per user) will enable business leaders to gauge the effectiveness of their initiatives, identify areas for improvement, and drive overall business growth

A new challenge has emerged regarding the re-conduct of the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) ordered by the Sindh High Court. The IBA Karachi has refused to conduct the test due to a lack of expertise and capacity, as confirmed by its Acting Executive Director Dr. Shakeel Ahmed Khoja. IBA Karachi\u27s Board of Governors had decided in 2002 that the institution would not engage in testing services unless it acquired the necessary resources. In contrast, IBA Sukkur has agreed to conduct the test. Despite the Sindh High Court\u27s order, a meeting between IBA Karachi and IBA Sukkur failed to resolve the issue. The test was originally managed by IBA Karachi but was discontinued in 2002. The Sindh High Court had previously declared the MDCAT conducted by Dow Medical University null and void, ordering a retake of the test by IBA Karachi and IBA Sukkur
