Karierne možnosti naslednikov družinskih podjetij
Young people leaving school often face the dilemma of whether to seek employment or choose self-employment or entrepreneurship. Their peers who grew up in family businesses have the additional option of joining and taking over the family business, which is usually expected of them but not necessarily their preferred choice. This paper describes the various factors that influence young people\u27s choice of these three options. Using a sample of 7,775 participants from 18 European countries, we find that the most important factors are motivation, entrepreneurial intention, subjective norms, positive feelings toward the family business, and experience gained in the family business
Vloga porabniških stereotipov pri ovrednotenju blagovnih znamk
Consumer stereotypes have an important influence on consumer behaviour in purchase decisions. Using the stereotype content model (Cuddy, Fiske & Glick, 2007; Fiske, Cuddy, Glick & Xu, 2002), we identify brand stereotypes through perceptions of warmth and competence as warm/cold and competent/incompetent. Based on the research conducted as part of the project Monitoring consumer preferences through consumer stereotypes , we present a classification of 96 brands on the Slovenian market in terms of salience, warmth and competence, as formed on the basis of the assessments of 25 marketing experts from the Slovenian region. The findings on brand stereotypes form the basis for the formulation of marketing objectives and the corresponding positioning, marketing communication and other tools of the marketing network
Exploiting Firm Capabilities by Sensing, Seizing and Reconfiguring Capabilities: An Empirical Investigation
The aim of this paper is to study the exploitation of firm capabilities as dynamic capabilities through sensing, seizing and reconfiguring capabilities. Such a perspective enables us to better understand the logic behind the exploitation of dynamic capabilities. This study proposes that firms need to exploit all relevant firm capabilities according to the dynamic capabilities view. We also provide insights into positive practices that underpin dynamic capabilities as well as negative practices that cause rigidity in their deployment. Our paper highlights the importance of ensuring a continuous commitment to the sensing, seizing and reconfiguring capabilities
Novejši pristopi v analizi podatkov o smrtnosti
In the application of statistical methods and models, as well as other data analysis methods, we encounter a number of limitations that make it necessary to find new approaches. The purpose of this article is to highlight the rationale for seeking new approaches to the analysis of mortality data in European countries observed by sex, age, and cause of death, to briefly present some results of recent work, and to point to research being conducted in collaboration with other researchers on this information
Učinek dohodka in premoženja na subjektivno blaginjo starejšega prebivalstva
The influence of individual income is a topic that has received much attention from economists in research on subjective well-being. The aim of this paper is to contribute to this literature by shedding light on the causal effect of income and wealth on the well-being of the elderly population, i.e., a group of individuals that is becoming an increasingly interesting subject of economic research due to increasing life expectancy and demographic trends. Our results show that income and wealth have a statistically significant effect on happiness, and this effect is strongly enhanced when the endogeneity of the model is controlled by instrumental variables
Obveznice z družbenim učinkom
The article presents social impact bonds, which are an innovative way of financing social actions, and analyzes their possible use in Slovenia. We conclude that this type of financing could be successfully used as a complement to existing government measures and could also bring certain benefits to existing measures. Much remains to be done to successfully put the model into practice, as both the state and social service providers are very reluctant to involve private capital in the provision of social protection to the population
Spremna beseda uredništva k posebni številki EBR 2019 / Introductory note
The field of economics is an important part of the Slovenian academic and research environment. According to Sicris data (April 2019), there are a total of 1,517 researchers working in this field in Slovenia; 156 of them, or about 10%, are at the School of Economics and Business at the University of Ljubljana. The economy is a complex organism whose dynamics are shaped by many actors. In the current Slovenian issue of the Economic and Business Review, several authors shed light on numerous current aspects and current challenges of Slovenian development. By applying the latest theoretical findings to examples (mostly) from the Slovenian economy, the authors efficiently translate theoretical knowledge into efforts to improve economic development prospects in Slovenia
Vpliv gospodarskih razmer na zaposlovanje diplomantov
During the recent economic crisis, new generations of college graduates have entered the labor market each year facing lower labor demand, which has severely affected their transition into the labor market. In this article, we use the survival method to analyze the duration of unemployment, measured from graduation to first employment, for students who completed a college education or degree program between 2007 and 2011. Due to adverse economic conditions during the crisis, graduates in journalism, arts and humanities, and business and administration were most affected, while the recent economic crisis had no impact on graduates in education, health care, and social work
Organizational Design and Organizational Learning: The Moderating Role of Innovative Behavior and Team Psychological Empowerment in the Case of an International Sustainable Mobility Provider
We have investigated how organizational design facilitates organizational learning in the age of digital economy at exploring the cross-level interplay. In this inductive case study of a sustainable mobility provider, we conducted a three-level coding procedure. We found evidence for two moderators — innovative behavior at the individual level and team psychological empowerment at the team level — to propose the conceptual model of their interplay with regard to predicting organizational learning. Based on these findings, we developed a conceptual model of the cross-level interplay between organizational design and the moderating role of innovative behavior and team psychological empowerment in stimulating organizational learning. Specifically, we found support for three facets of innovative behavior — idea generation, idea promotion, and idea implementation at the individual level. In addition, we identified four facets of team psychological empowerment at the team-level — team potency, team meaningfulness, team autonomy, and team impact — which act as moderating mechanisms in predicting organizational learning
