Analysis of students\u27 initial scientific literacy of science in elementary school teacher education student
This study aimed to determine the level of scientific literacy possessed by prospective elementary school teachers at Yogyakarta State University. The method used in this research is a qualitative description. The research design used is descriptive quantitative research. The number of subjects in this study was 44 students of PGSD UNY. Data was collected through an online questionnaire survey. Questionnaire data were obtained through question items distributed to respondents in Google Form. The data collection was analyzed using Microsoft Excel and explained as a descriptive explanation. The results of this study indicate that the average scientific literacy ability in scientific competence as a whole is 66.08%, with the achievement category being good. The percentage of scientific literacy skills achievement on the indicator of identifying scientific problems is 58.33% with the enough category. The percentage of achievement on the indicator explaining scientific phenomena is 71.60% with the good category. In contrast, the percentage of scientific literacy achievement on scientific evidence indicators is 69.17% in the good category. Overall, the literacy level of PGSD UNY students is in the good category
The effect of science process skills of students argumentation skills
This study aims to compare students\u27 learning skills in each class and students\u27 argumentative abilities in each class and to determine the effect of students\u27 science process skills on students\u27 argumentation abilities. This type of research uses the mixed method with an explanatory design. The samples of this study were 70 students of class 11 science, with the sampling technique of simple random sampling. The results of data analysis using parametric statistics t-test (2-tailed) obtained sig. value 0.034 \u3c 0.05, so it can be said that the students\u27 argumentative abilities in XI A and IPA B are different, and for the variable science process skills, the sig. is 0.043 \u3c 0.05, so each class\u27s science process skills are different. The results of the regression test obtained the results of the sig value of 0.025 in class XI A, and class XI B obtained a sig value of 0.030, where the value of sig \u3c 0.05 which means that science process skills affect the students\u27 argumentation skills. The study confirms that the improvement of scientific skills will make student better at conveying arguments
The effect of digital literacy on student learning outcomes in chemistry learning
The study aims to determine the effect of digital literacy levels on learning outcomes of eleven-grade students in chemistry learning with a distance learning system during pandemic Covid-19. This study used a quantitative descriptive method with 74 students as a sample who took chemistry learning. The digital literacy level of students was determined through digital literacy instruments. Meanwhile, students\u27 chemistry learning outcomes consisted of the results of daily tests on buffer solution and solubility product chapter. Based on the results, the digital literacy level of students consisted of 57% of students in the high category, 43% of students in the medium category, and no students in the low category. The results of the Mann-Whitney test between groups of students with high and medium category obtained the following results: 1) there is a significant difference in learning outcomes in the buffer solution chapter between students with high and medium digital literacy levels (p= 0.003), 2) there is a significant difference in learning outcomes in the solubility product chapter between students with high and medium digital literacy levels (p= 0.001). These results indicate that the students\u27 digital literacy level has a significant effect on students\u27 learning outcomes in chemistry distance learning
The impact of overhead dumbbell squat towards swimming speed of Tirta Palm Swimming Club members
Swimming athletes compete by how fast they can swim at a certain distance. One of the most important things that affect the swimming speed was the muscle strength of the arms and legs. The swimming speed can be increased by doing the physical exercise that can affect the arms and legs muscles which was called overhead dumbbell squat (ODS) exercise. The purpose of this study was to find out if there was an effect of ODS on increased breaststroke swimming speed of Tirta Palm Swimming Club members. This study was an experimental study with one group pretest-posttest design that was implemented for a month about 16-20 years old that met the qualifications of inclusion and did the ODS exercise thrice a week for 4 weeks. The duration of each exercise was 10 repetitions, 6 sets, and breaks for a minute in each set. The result showed that the average pretest swimming speed was 67,84 seconds and the post-test was 59,07 seconds. The analysis result of paired sample t-test showed a value p\u3c0,001, so there was a significant difference between pretest and posttest. It could be concluded that overhead dumbbell squat exercises could enhance the swimming speed of Tirta Palm Swimming Club members
Elsinta radio\u27s social message to build the value of communication wisdom and citizens cultural identity
As an interactive media, a radio has social responsibility to the community on the understanding the policy of multicultural education from language diversity point of view. This study was to analyze the existence of radio as a type of electronic media that has a role and function as a medium of information, education, and entertainment for the community. We approached the study focus by using theory of multicultural education value, and supported by the theory of social media responsibility. The results of the study showed that Elsinta as one of the private radio stations in Indonesia through the broadcast content of RBI which had become a radio characteristic in presenting broadcast material that need to be used as a capital and model to develop multicultural communication education innovations. Therefore, to build a community perspective, it was necessary to be based on the value of the wisdom of the diversity of languages in Indonesia, packaged into learning materials for the community. This study contributes academically to the community as an effort to strengthen the value of the wisdom of language diversity
Obstacles and efforts to overcome them in protecting children\u27s rights against violence in elementary schools in the Sleman district
The aims of this research are: to identify obstacles in protecting children\u27s rights against violence in elementary schools in Sleman Regency and to describe efforts to overcome obstacles in protecting children\u27s rights against violence in elementary schools in Sleman Regency. This research is a descriptive qualitative research approach. The research subjects were four school principals, three teachers and two education staff. Data collection techniques with interviews and documentation. The technique of checking the validity of the data is done by using cross check data. Inductive data analysis which includes data reduction, categorization and unitization of data, presentation of data and drawing conclusions. The results of the research show that in carrying out these protection efforts the school revealed that there were several obstacles faced. These obstacles come from within (internal) and from outside the school (external). Internal barriers in the form of the lack of the role of educational staff or employees and parents who are less open. While external obstacles such as violence occur outside the school which causes ignorance on the part of the school. schools make efforts to overcome internal and external obstacles in prevention efforts by creating child-friendly school programs and recruiting Counseling Guidance teachers
Character Education Integration in Distance Learning System Based on Multiple Intelligence Theory: Case Study at SMKN 2 Malang
This study aims to determine how the strategies carried out by Public Vocational High Schools in Malang City, Indonesia, implement character education in the distance learning system. This research occurred at the 2nd PublicVocational High School (SMKN 2 Malang), Computer and Network Engineering Department. The design of this research is an interactive qualitative analysis model, i.e., reduction, data presentation, and deduction. Data collection techniques are in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation for six months. Data documentation consists of diagnostic tests, Learning Management System (LMS) screenshots, and discipline time records during distance learning. This study shows that from knowledge aspect, teachers can understand students\u27 character well so that the application of multiple intelligence strategies by utilizing diagnostic tests and LMS can be realized. However, the implementation of character education often experiences problems or lacks student technical support, so its implementation is carried out consistently by incorporating character values in every learning activity. This study recommends that observation activities be carried out when learning activities need to be optimized with synchronous learning activities
A Brief Study of The Use of Pattern Recognition in Online Learning: Recommendation for Assessing Teaching Skills Automatically Online Based
Online learning has become a trend for the current generation of students who have been exposed to advanced information and communication technology. Smart education can use pattern recognition. Manual assessments are subjective and inconsistent. To overcome these problems, pattern recognition can be used in the non-verbal aspect assessment system. This study describes pattern recognition in online learning about the functions, modalities, and algorithms and specifically related to the recognition system of non-verbal aspects of teaching skills. The literature study was carried out through the stages of planning, selection, extraction, and selection. There are 86 articles reviewed. The first result is the functions of implementing pattern recognition in online learning are engagement recognition, attention detection, emotion recognition, learning behavior, learning activity recognition, authentication, teaching training, etc. using four classifications of modality: visual, audio, biosignal, behavioral, and CNN as the most widely used learning algorithm. Secondly, all modalities (except behavioral) and CNN algorithm can be used for assessing teaching skills. Early development of the non-verbal aspect assessment system can use Facial Expression Recognition (FER) and Hand Gesture Recognition (HGR). The future analysis needs to focus on technology characteristics, the meaningfulness of the content, and the proper teaching mode. In the end, hopefully, prospective teachers will acquire technology that can make it easier for them to practice teaching and get objective assessments
Edupreneurship implementation through teaching factory on mechanical engineering competence
This study aims to (1) Describe how the edupreneurship implementation through Teaching Factory (TEFA) on the mechanical engineering expertise competence at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Sukoharjo; (2) Describe the factors supporting the successful implementation of edupreneurship through teaching factory on the mechanical engineering expertise competence at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Sukoharjo; and (3) Describes the contribution of the edupreneurship implementation through the teaching factory in fostering an entrepreneurial spirit in mechanical engineering students at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Sukoharjo. This qualitative research used a descriptive approach. The data were collected by interview, observation, and documentation. The informants comprised principals, vice-principals of curriculum, heads of engineering expertise programs, productive teachers, and students. The data analysis technique employed interactive analysis techniques, starting from data collection and then the data were reduced; after being reduced, the data were presented, and the last was verification. The data validity was then tested by triangulation of sources. The findings in this study revealed that (1) In terms of planning, organizing, implementing, and monitoring/evaluating, the edupreneurship implementation through teaching factory on the mechanical engineering expertise competence at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Sukoharjo has been going very well by producing medical device products, especially patient beds that were produced and have been marketed to PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital in Central Java; (2) The factors driving the success of edupreneurship through technology factory comprised: quality educator resources, adequate infrastructure both in quantity and quality, standard operating procedures according to industry standards, quality products, and a well-established product marketing network; and (3) The edupreneurship implementation through the teaching factory contributes to fostering an entrepreneurial spirit by directly involving students in planning, production, and marketing
Development of e-wallet application DASIGU - based teaching factory
The trend of non-cash or cashless payments through e-wallet applications is increasing because the application presents the ease of transacting features accompanied by discounts and cashback that are attractive to its users. Not realizing it increases people interest in transacting and shopping both it increases their interest in transacting and shopping online and offline, which will encourage the country\u27s economic growth. So many start-ups and institutions are vying to develop digital wallet applications. Likewise, SMK YPM 3 Taman Sidoarjo is an educational institution based on vocational or expertise to support teaching factory learning and facilitate consumers in transacting it is necessary to develop e-wallet applications in schools. The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of the importance of developing e-wallets in schools aimed at improving the quality of schools through online transactions on products by students. This type of research and development (R&D) with a 4D development model. The stages in this research are defined, designed, developed, and disseminated. The application\u27s assessment instrument uses a Likert scale questionnaire distributed online. A sample was randomly selected from users of the e-wallet application, some teachers and students. The results of the digital wallet application product trial DASIGU to 173 students responded with 26 user experience questionnaire indicators resulted in a figure of 73.4% and belonged to the category of Worth use. Through the development of this e-wallet application, it will be easier for the school community to transact support products in the form of student services and goods
