The ability of Junior High School mathematics teachers writing Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) questions
This study is a survey research with a cross sectional survey design, which aims to describe the ability of junior high school mathematics teachers in writing HOTS items. The population of this study was junior high school mathematics teachers in Sleman Regency, while the sample was 21 teachers determined by non-stratified random sampling. The sample teachers came from 11 schools totaling 21 teachers. Each teacher created three HOTS items along with their grids. The question items made by the sample teachers were descriptive questions. The question items that had been prepared were then reviewed by two mathematics teachers from leading junior high schools in Yogyakarta. The next stage after validation is the trial. The number of respondents used was 263 students for testing teacher-made questions, namely 127 students in class VIII and 136 students in class VII. The results showed that the quality of the questions produced by the teacher based on the reliability estimation results obtained an estimate of 0.635 for class VII and 0.416 for class VIII. Likewise, the resulting differentiating power is less than 50% of the questions made by teachers who have differentiating power in the good, good, and very good categories. Factors that cause this include the lack of experience of teachers in writing HOTS questions. This is a special note to familiarize teachers with using HOTS questions in daily tests, UTS, and UAS proportionally so that the experience and ability of teachers to write HOTS questions increases

Although the internet provides benefits, teachers\u27 role as central figures in the learning process is imperative. Due to misuse and abuse of technology, promoting digital citizenship for student teachers was challenging. Using nine elements of digital citizenship by Mike Ribble, this study explores the knowledge and comprehension of digital citizenship (DC) among twenty student teachers involved in semi-structured interviews, observation, and documentation. The result of thematic analysis with Nvivo 12 Plus indicates that student teachers assume that DC incorporates digital literacy, the standard of behaviors, and moral guidance in an online environment. The study contributes to providing insight regarding appropriate behavior in technology use. Further studies may need to be conducted regarding teacher preparation in managing the integration of digital citizenship into the teacher education
Analysis of body type, dietary intake, and cardiorespiratory function in college soccer players
This study aims to analyze body type, dietary intake, and cardiorespiratory function of college soccer players. A total of 32 players (20 players from Yogyakarta State University and 12 players from Gadjah Mada University) were involved in this study. The study was carried out in April - June 2014. Body type, or somatotype, was calculated based on anthropometric measurements (weight, height, epicondylar humerus and epicondylar femur width, arm and calf circumference, and subcutaneous fat thickness). 24-hour food recall was used to measure the athlete\u27s dietary intake. VO2max was used to describe the athlete\u27s cardiorespiratory function, and it was measured by yo-yo intermittent recovery test level 2. The data were analyzed descriptively using statistical software. More than three-quarter of the players had normal nutritional status with body mass index=21.54±1.84. The majority player\u27s body type was balanced mesomorph (2.6-4.4-2.7). Balanced mesomorph players and ectomorphic mesomorph players had adequate energy and protein intake (2,623.83 kcal energy and 75.82 g protein for balanced mesomorph players; 2.724.68 kcal energy and 84.83 g protein for ectomorphic mesomorph players). Ectomorphic mesomorph players had the highest VO2max level (52.37±2.61 ml/kg/min). Soccer players with a mesomorph component supported by good energy and protein intake have the most optimal VO2max level
The effect of teaching style on affective and cognitive motivation in physical education
The theory of accomplishment-generating motivation only adopts a social cognitive method to research behavior and motivation in sports education settings, illuminating how achievement goal theory is useful for anticipating and explaining beliefs, reactions, and behaviors in achievement settings. This study aimed to investigate how different teaching approaches teacher-centered and student-centered affected the emotional and cognitive motivational responses of students during physical education classes. Using several Mosston and Ashworth teaching methods, including command style, reciprocal style, and guided exploration style, four teachers instructed 92 students. To evaluate teaching style, the Ames coding system was employed. In this inquiry, a strategy of mixed methods was used. By adjusting the work design, authority, recognition, grouping, assessment, and class time structure, the video data was evaluated. The hard disk software enables the recording of audio and video recordings as well as the real-time analysis of information acquired from course observations in physical education. An ANOVA analysis with the Bonferroni correction method was carried out to prevent Type 1 errors, and it produced an alpha level of 0.002 as a result. The command style, reciprocal style, and guided style all performed significantly differently, according to the Tukey test, in terms of total mastery and teaching style effectiveness. According to the findings, guided and reciprocal discovery styles were more effective than command approaches in terms of student mastery, less focused teacher behavior, and cognitive and emotional responses
Flipped learning as a learning method for students of sports coaching education during the COVID-19 pandemic: a systematic literature review
The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in the inability to carry out face-to-face lectures in all universities, including courses for sports science students. It results in less than optimal learning outcomes during the pandemic. Since the closing of face-to-face lectures, most universities in Indonesia have used virtual classrooms in the implementation of learning. However, the data shows that lessons in virtual classrooms without appropriate learning methods can result in a learning loss. This literature review study aims to analyze the effectiveness of flipped learning as a learning solution during the pandemic. The technique used in this study was a literature review. A systematic search of literature regarding the implementation of flipped learning during the pandemic, and the obstacles to the teaching and learning process for sports science students during the pandemic, were conducted on the PubMed, Scopus, Google Scholar, and Semantic Scholar databases. The literature analysis used the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) method. A total of seven articles were selected for review. The article review results revealed that implementing flipped learning increased students\u27 motivation, participation, and learning performance. To conclude, flipped learning can be applied to students in sports science to increase their motivation, participation, and learning outcomes
Effectiveness of sports biomechanics module based on literacy skills to improve student concept understanding
This study aims to determine the results of developing a sports biomechanics module based on literacy skills to improve conceptual understanding and determine how student responses affect student concept understanding. This module was developed using the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Before testing, the module must be validated. The results of the material expert validation obtained a score of 4, which was in the excellent category. The media expert validation obtained a score of 4, which was in the excellent category. Moreover, the results of language validation also obtained a score of 4, which means excellent. The results of trials conducted on 90 students showed a positive response where 60% of students stated that this product was good to use. The results of the product effectiveness test were carried out by looking at the effect of the response with the understanding of students\u27 concepts using regression testing. The results of the simple linear regression test showed results of 54.1% on the coefficient of determination which indicated that there was an effect of student responses on understanding the concept. So that the use of this biomechanics module is effective for use in the learning process
Physical exercise as cytokine modulator in inflammatory immune response: a systematic review
Physical exercise contributes to maintain our health, through its role in inflammatory immune response. Cytokines are proteins that mediate communication between immune cells, either as pro- or anti-inflammation agents. Nonetheless, the dominance of pro- over anti-inflammatory cytokines during a workout, is harmful to health. This systematic review aimed at determining the effect of physical activity in modulating pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines during immune response. Following Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews (PRISMA) guideline, literature searching was conducted in 3 databases which were PUBMED/MEDLINE, DOAJ and GARUDA, using keywords, citation tracking and snowballing. Inclusion and exclusion criterias were used to screen, while the Newcastle Ottawa Scale (NOS) was used to assess the quality of the articles. Data extraction and analysis were conducted descriptively. There were 376 articles identified, of which 329 were sorted and 82 were retrieved. Thirty articles underwent quality assessment, resulting to 12 inclusion studies. In conclusion, physical exercise influences the modulation of cytokine, whereby IL-6 and TNF-α (pro-) which increase at the beginning of exercise, are balanced by the increase of IL-10 (anti-inflammatory), which appears later in exercise or during recovery. For this purpose, physical exercise is recommended as a combination of aerobic and resistance exercise performed regularly at moderate intensity
Tinjauan Matematis Waktu Tundaan pada Model Covid-19 dengan Vaksinansi
Article ini membahas pemodelan matematika penyebaran Covid-19 dengan vaksinasi yang melibatkan waktu tundaan. Waktu tundaan merepresentasikan waktu individu mengalami penurunan kekebalan tubuh sehingga kembali rentan terhadap Covid-19 setelah sembuh. Kita tahu bahwa individu yang dinyatakan sembuh dari Covid-19 dapat terinfeksi kembali. Penelitian ini menganalisa titik ekuilibirum beserta kestabilannya, menentukan bilangan reproduksi dasar untuk melihat penyebaran penyakit, menentukan jenis bifurkasi yang muncul yang diakibatkan oleh waktu tundaan, dan melakukan simulasi numerik untuk melihat perilaku penyebaran penyakit. Di samping itu juga dilakukan kajian analitik untuk menentukan bilangan reproduksi dasar dan analisa perbandingan kestabilan lokal untuk model tanpa waktu tundaan dan dengan waktu tundaan. Hasil dari analisis terhadap model didapat dua titik ekuilibrium, yakni satu bebas penyakit dan satu endemik. Pada model dengan waktu tundaan diperoleh bahwa waktu tundaan tertentu dapat menyebabkan munculnya solusi periodik artinya akan terjadi fluktuasi banyaknya individu yang terinveksi pada periode waktu tertentu. Simulasi numerik dengan mengubah ubah parameter waktu tundaan dan tingkat vaksinasi menunjukkan pada kondisi endemik model dengan waktu tundaan akan menyebabkan lebih banyak individu yang terinveksi dari pada model tanpa waktu tundaan.
Mathematical Overview of Time Delay on Covid 19 Models with Vaccination
Abstract
This article discusses the mathematical modeling of the spread of Covid-19 with vaccination which involves a time delay. The time delay is represented when an individual experiences a decreased immune system so that he is declared susceptible to Covid-19 after recovering. Because we know that individuals who are declared cured of Covid-19 can be reinfected, this study analyzes the equilibrium point of the model and its stability, determines the primary reproduction number to see the spread of the disease, determines the type of bifurcation that appears due to the time delay, and performs numerical simulations. To see the behavior of the spread of the disease. In addition, analytical studies were carried out to determine the primary reproduction number and local stability comparison analysis for models without time delay and with time delay. The model analysis results obtained two equilibrium points, one free of disease and one endemic. In the time-delayed model, the value of the time-delay parameter is obtained, which causes the emergence of a periodic solution, meaning that there will be fluctuations in the number of individuals infected in a certain period. Numerical simulations by changing the time delay parameters and vaccination rates show that in endemic conditions, models with time delays will cause more individuals to be infected than models that do not use time delays
Specialized Content Knowledge Lower Secondary School Teachers on Quadrilaterals
The teachers\u27 knowledge of specific content has a positive relationship with the students\u27 mathematics achievement. Mathematics teachers must have an appropriate level to ensure mathematics learning effectively. The quadrilateral is one of the essential contents in geometry. However, many teachers did not successfully deliver and teach this content in classroom instruction. Therefore, this qualitative study explores the specialized content knowledge of lower secondary teachers in defining and classifying quadrilaterals. Four teachers, two male and two female teachers, were recruited to become participants in this work. All participants have similar teaching experience and do not hold an educator certificate. A test and semi-structured interviews were assigned to obtain specialized content knowledge of the teachers on quadrilaterals. The interview data were analyzed in three stages: data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that only one teacher understands hierarchically in defining and classifying quadrilaterals, two teachers are at the partial prototype level because they cannot see the hierarchical relationship between the quadrilaterals, and another teacher is at the prototype understanding level because it relies on the prototype of quadrilaterals\u27 shape. These findings suggest that lower secondary teachers\u27 special content knowledge of quadrilateral needs to be strengthened through workshops and training professional development
An evaluation of the vocational skill learning program at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri of Yogyakarta Special Region
This study aims to evaluate the vocational skills learning program at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) of Yogyakarta Special Region with components that include: (1) learning plans (antecedents); (2) Implementation of learning (transactions); and (3) Learning outcomes (outcomes). This study uses a quantitative approach and a Countenance Stake evaluation model. The evaluation was carried out at MAN 1 Sleman, MAN 2 Bantul, and MAN 2 Kulon Progo from February to June 2020. The data collection instruments in this study used observation sheets, document review sheets, and questionnaires. The validity used is in the form of content validity and construct validity, while for reliability, Cronbach\u27s Alpha and Intraclass Correlation Coefficient were used. The results show that: (1) planning (antecedents) of learning skills in MAN of Yogyakarta Special Region is in a good category with a percentage of 66.21%; (2) the implementation (transaction) of learning, the results using the observation technique reach excellent category (86.11%), and the questionnaire technique is in good category (78.49%). Meanwhile, in the implementation of the learning assessment, both document review and questionnaire techniques obtained good categories (68.35% and 75.05%); (3) the outcomes of students\u27 final semester exams on skills learning in MAN of Yogyakarta Special Region reach 100% of passing the standard of each madrasah
