    No full text
This study aimed to investigate the beliefs among professionals in the field of physical education at the elementary level, more specifically in the context of Thailand. The participants were five exemplary elementary physical education (PE) teachers. All participants signed informed consent prior to data collection. We used semi-structured interviews to gather information on participants\u27 beliefs. Each interview lasted approximately 45 minutes. All interviews were audio recorded and later transcribed for analysis. Data collection occurred in two ways: (1) in-depth semi-structured interviews and (2) semi-structured follow-up interviews. Data were analyzed using a thematic coding procedure to find the significant statements related to research questions. Results showed three themes constructed from data analysis, including trends: (1) to teach the foundation of basic skills that moved beyond sport-oriented PE, (2) to consider physical education for Health and integrated physical education, and (3) to perceive limited time to deliver contemporary physical education. We conclude that the beliefs about the trends in physical education have been aligned with the global trends in physical education. These cover topic areas of skill development and health issues with a strong emphasis on physical education that serves the best interests of the children. Relevant stakeholders should then ensure that physical education will be delivered according to the interest of today\u27s children. Future research should seriously focus on this specific area of study, encompassing policy, program, and practice of physical education

    No full text
There are many virtual physics laboratory applications, i.e., Golabz and Crocodile Physics. This study aims to design online physics learning about RLC series circuits using Golabz, which integrates Crocodile Physics and investigates its effectivity on students\u27 understanding. The research method used here is the development research with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The online physics learning design based on an inquiry about the RLC series circuit using Golabz consists of three learning activities according to the learning objectives. Each learning has five steps, i.e., orientation, conceptualization, investigation, discussion, and conclusion. The research instruments are an observation sheet, evaluation, questionnaire, and validation sheet for the material and media. Based on the research above, the results of learning observation indicate that all respondents can follow the learning well with an average of 82% and gave positive responses to at least 70% of the statements with an average of 98%; some students were able to obtain evaluation results of more than 70% with an average of 71.88%. Thus, all indicators of success are achieved, and the online physics learning design about RLCseries circuits using Golabz is said to be sufficient to help students understand the material of RLC series circuits

Misconceptions are discrepancies between students\u27 understanding of concepts and concepts defined by experts. Misconceptions are indicated as latent dangers in the learning process. One of the topics in science that has a high level of misconception among students is the concept of work and energy. The SSCS model is an approach put forward as an effective way to train students\u27 conceptual understanding. This research aims to determine whether the misconceptions about the work and energy of grade 7 students will be reduced by applying the SSCS model (Search, Solve, Create, and Share) as a remediation approach. The experimental design was applied using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research sample comprised 32 students (15 boys and 17 girls). Profiling of students\u27 misconceptions before and after the action was measured using 14 two-level multiple-choice questions. There are four types of misconceptions based on initial measurements. The results show an average pretest score of 44.07 and an average posttest of 63.60. It can be concluded that the SSCS model significantly reduces student misconceptions. Further research on the types of errors present in mapping student profiles is recommended

This study aims to determine the correlation between nutritional adequacy, Fe content, body fat percentage, and muscle mass percentage with physical fitness in football athletes. Adequacy of nutrients (energy, protein, fat, protein and Fe) was obtained with a 2×24 hour recall. The Fe content value of Fe was measured using the cyanmethemoglobin method and sTfR was measured using the ELWASA method. The percentage of fat and muscle was obtained by using a Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis tool. Physical fitness was measured using the ACSPFT (Asian Committee on Standardization of Physical Fitness Test) test which includes long jumps, pull-ups, sit-ups, sprints or sprints, shuttle run tests, sit and reach and long runs. The bivariate statwastical test used was the Pearson and Rank-Spearman correlation test, while the multivariate test used the Linear Regression test. There was a correlation between carbohydrate adequacy and physical fitness (p = 0.008). Physical fitness related to carbohydrate adequacy was agility and hand muscle strength (shuttle run and pull-up). There was no correlation between adequacy of energy, protein, fat, Fe Content, fat percentage, muscle percentage and physical fitness of athletes. The results of multivariate analysis showed that the most influential on physical fitness was fat adequacy (Rsquwere=14,6%)
