    Mathematical critical thinking and resiliency: Experiment of grade-7 students using scientific approah

    The purpose of this study was to describe the role of scientific approach on students\u27 mathematical critical thinking and resiliency. This study wass a pre test-post test experimental control group design and involves 66 seventh grade students as sample. Data collection was conducted by a mathematical critical thinking test, a mathematical resiliency questionnaire, and a perception on scientific approach questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive and inferential analysis. The study found that on mathematical critical thinking ability, students getting treatment by scientific approach attained better than students taught by conventional teaching, but both groups were still at low level. On mathematical resiliency, there was no different between students on both teaching approaches, and those groups were at medium level. The other findings, there was no association between mathematical critical thinking ability and mathematical resiliency, and students performed high perception toward scientific approach

    Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan latar belakang masyarakat Minangkabau yang terhubung dengan kerabat asal mereka. Bagi lelaki Minangkabau, bermigrasi berarti suatu keharusan, perjalanan awal untuk menjadi orang dewasa, mempersiapkan kehidupan yang lebih baik. Beberapa alasan untuk bermigrasi adalah (a) untuk kehidupan yang lebih baik; (b) untuk belajar; (C) perlawanan sistem matrilineal. Faktanya bahwa walaupun mereka merantau, mereka masih terhubung dengan kerabat aslinya. dalam beberapa bentuk, seperti bantuan keuangan untuk sepupu mereka, menjaga warisan leluhur, dan penggalangan dana untuk mengembangkan tanah leluhurnya.     Temperature and humidity have an important role in the cultivation of oyster mushrooms to obtain optimal growth of oyster mushrooms. The optimum temperature required ranges from 24 ° C - 27 ° C and 80% - 90% humidity. The watering of mushroom kumbung should be done regularly, in order to maintain the temperature and humidity of the surrounding air, then conducted research that aims to create a tool that can regulate the temperature and humidity kumbung mushrooms automatically to facilitate farmers keep the temperature and humidity stability continuously. This automatic adjustment system uses DHT-11 sensors as air and humidity and arduino uno gauges as tool controls. Tests conducted for 7 days with data collection in the morning at 06:00 AM, noon at 12:00 PM and afternoon at 4:00 PM. The test results prove that this system of temperature and humidity regulator can keep the stability of room temperature and humidity with an average 25°C of room temperature and 60% of humidity with set point temperature at 27°C and 55% of humidity

    Pengembangan asesmen biologi berbasis keterampilan berpikir kritis terintegrasi nilai Islam

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik dan kelayakan asesmen berbasis berpikir kritis terintegrasi nilai islam. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan. Produk yang akan dikembangkan berupa asesmen berbasis berpikir kritis terintegrasi nilai islam. Pengembangan yang dilakukan menggunakan model prosedural dengan mengadaptasi model penelitian dan pengembangan Mclntire & Miller (2007). Validasi ahli dilakukan oleh 3 validator ahli: 1) ahli materi; 2) ahli evaluasi pendidikan; dan 3) ahli nilai islam. Uji coba pertama dilakukan pada siswa kelas XI SMA Nadhatul Ulama dan SMA Muhammadiyah 4 Palembang sebanyak 70 siswa. Uji validasi tes dilakukan pada siswa Kelas X SMA Daarul Aitam, SMA Nadhatul Ulama, SMA Azhariyah, SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Palembang, SMA Muhammadiyah 4 Palembang, SMA Muhammadiyah 9 Palembang, SMA YP Nurfauzan, dan SMA Ashanadiyah. Hasil penelitian ini berupa asesmen biologi berbasis berpikir kritis terintegrasi nilai islam berbentuk soal pilihan ganda yang didalamnya terdapat materi biologi kelas X semester 1 & 2 yang dintegrasikan dengan indikator berpikir kritis serta nilai islam. Kelayakan asesmen biologi berbasis berpikir kritis terintegrasi nilai islam berdasarkan validator ahli hasilnya berkualifikasi baik sampai dengan sangat baik serta berdasarkan hasil validitas empirik butir soal dinyatakan valid dan reliabel sehingga dapat digunakan untuk mengukur keterampilan berpikir kritis terintegrasi nilai islam pada siswa

    Materi listrik (utamanya listrik dinamis) di SMP merupakan materi yang tergolong sulit. Kurangnya inovasi guru dalam membelajarkan materi ini merupakan salahsatu faktor penyebabnya. Demikian pula, kurangnya guru melatihkan kerja ilmiah sebagai ciri dari pembelajaran sains menyebabkan pemahaman siswa terhadap sains menjadi kurang bermakna. Dalam proyek ini telah dikembangkan pembelajaran berbasis kerja investigasi untuk membangun kerja ilmiah siswa, dan selanjutnya untuk meningkatkan literasi siswa secara utuh. Penelitian dengan metode kuasi eksperimen ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan satu kelas eksperimen dan satu kelas kontrol yang diasumsikan memiliki homogenitas yang sama. Kerja ilmiah siswa diukur dengan penilaian fortofolio keterampilan proses, menggunakan instrumen lembar observasi dan angket, serta format wawancara/lisan. Literasi sains diukur dengan menggunakan instrumen tes pilihan berganda beralasan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kerja investigasi dapat mendorong siswa untuk belajar lebih bermakna dan menyebabkan keterampilan proses siswa terlatih. Lebih lanjut pembelajaran yang mengakomodasi belajar aktif siswa dapat meningkatkan literasi sains siswa. Do scientific inquiry within group investigation enhance scientific work and science literacy of student? Abstract Dynamic electricity is one of the difficult topic of science for secondary school student. Lack of teacher innovation and less practicing scientific work to student make the learning is not something awaited and meaningless. The dynamic electricity learning based on group investigation on using scientific inquiry approach has developed to build students\u27 scientific work skills. By the project, it was also learnt the enhance of students\u27 science literacy as an impact of the treatment. The quasi experimental methods was used with the control group pre-posttest designed. The two groups of student were used, one group as a control class, and the other group was the experimental class. The two groups were choosen based on the homogenity of learning achievement. The scientific work skills were assessed on using portopolio of students\u27 process skills (observation sheet, questionaire, and interview). The science literacy was assessed on using multiple choice test elaborated with the description/reason. The research shows that group investigation with scientific inquiry drove student to learn meaningfull and it led to the enhancing of students\u27 science process skills. Moreover, students\u27 science literacy can be improved through the active student learning

    The future orientation for novice teacher induction program in vocational education

    This paper presents the discussion with purpose to identify the orientation of teacher induction program in vocational education that is in line with changing times and future challenges. The problems associated with the teacher induction program in vocational education are whether the program has been oriented towards changes and future challenges. This research was conducted explanatory sequential mixed method approach. This study applies a six-step on research procedure. Respondents consisted of 52 novice teachers, 115 mentors, 15 principals, and 24 school supervisors. The subject of the qualitative research was nine resources persons. The respondents were given a Likert scale questionnaire to gather opinions and to be interviewed about the implementation of induction programs in vocational schools. Data were analyzed using PASW-18 and Atlas.ti software. The results of the study indicate that the future orientation of the induction program for novice vocational teachers involves many aspects in teacher professional development. These aspects include understanding of new target groups, developing job markets, technological developments, business/industry cooperation, regional development, new learning paradigms, and vocational education policy

    The effect of Lectora inspire-based interactive learning media in vocational high school

    The objective of research was to reveal: (1) the learning outcome of students in experiment class, (2) the learning outcome of students in control class, (3) the effect of lectora inspire-based interactive learning media on the learning outcome of students. This study was a quasi-experiment research with Pretest-Posttest Control Design with students of SMK Negeri 6 Surakarta being the subject of research. The instruments used in this research were questionnaire and test. The result of research showed that: (1) the learning outcome for experiment class indicated mean posttest value of 84.53, (2) the learning outcome for control class indicated mean posttest value of 71.73, and (3) there was an effect of Lectora Inspire-based interactive learning media on the learning outcome of students, as can be seen from the result of t-test calculation with t statistic 0,000\u3c t table 0.05. The conclusion of research was that there was a difference of effect of lectora inspire-based interactive learning media application on the learning outcome of students between control and experiment classes

    Development of massive open online course (MOOC) based on addie model for catering courses

    Nowadays, innovation for teaching aids is an important requirement to ensure the teaching and learning process can run smoothly. Coinciding with the Malaysia Education Blueprint 2013-2025 (Ministry of Education) through the ninth surge of Global Online Learning, the development of the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) was built. The ADDIE model has been adapted for this development. The study aims to develop an appropriate interactive learning for Food and Beverage Presentation subjects based on the Vocational College (VC) syllabus. In research development, researchers use Richey and Klein research recommendations, using Alpha and Beta tests in the evaluation phase of the study. The population of the study involved 155 Catering students at Muar Vocational College and the sample of the study were 60 of third and fourth-year Diploma students. The sampling method used is the purposive sampling and the instrument used in the form of the questionnaire. Data collected were collected and analyzed descriptively using Statistical Packages for Social Science (SPSS) version 23.0. Based on the analysis, the reliability value of the instrument is 0.997 and shows that the reliability of the instrument is at a high level. The findings show that the use of MOOC can increase computer literacy (3.75), interest (3.78) and student learning styles (3.75) and make the learning process more interesting. In addition, the findings show that the use of the MOOC application can help students in improving the performance and achievement of students in learning and thus can be an alternative to diversifying the teaching and learning process in VC

    Lesson study in competence development of accounting teachers

    This research aimed to find out and explore the lesson study practice in developing the accounting teacher\u27s professionalism. This research employed qualitative research using a single instrumental case-study strategy. The data were collected using in-depth interview, observation, and documentation. Then, they were analysed using interactive model. The results of the research showed that with the implementation of the lesson study in schools, it succeeded in improving the four teachers\u27 competencies. The improvement of the pedagogical competence can be seen from the well preparation of learning, the selection of teaching strategies according to the characteristics of the students and the implementation of memorable learning for the students. Professional competence can also be seen from the teacher\u27s preparation in choosing relevant and up-to-date materials, teaching them by connecting to daily practice and always evaluating the material taught to maintain the quality of the material. The improvement of the social competence can be seen from the more effective communication between the teachers and students and their colleagues. The improvement of the personality competence is indicated by the teachers\u27 attitudes that are increasingly wise and prestigious in responding to the conditions related to their work. The research implication is that the practice of lesson study can form accounting teacher learning groups that serve as a place for sharing and discussion in developing their professionalism

    Managerial competency evaluation of vocational school principals in Magelang

    The purpose of this study was to discover the implementation of managerial competence of vocational school principals in Magelang from the perspective of (1) planning, (2) implementation, and (3) result. This study had a form of evaluation research with discrepancy method. The subjects of this study were four principals and thirty teachers of SMK Ma\u27arif 1 Ngluwar, SMK Ma\u27arif Salam, SMK Ma\u27arif Kota Mungkid, and SMK N 1 Salam. The data were collected using questionnaire and interview. This study used analysis of quantitative descriptive as analysis data method. The result of this study indicated that the planning of principals\u27 managerial competence acquired from questionnaire was in very good category with average score 52.70; the implementation of vocational school principals\u27 managerial competence in Magelang based on the questionnaire result was in very good category with the average score 127.25; and the result of vocational school principals\u27 managerial competence in Magelang based on the questionnaire was in very good category with the average score 34.20
