    No full text
The rapid technological advancements and evolving job markets present a pressing need to understand how academic experiences shape the career outcomes of engineering graduates. This understanding is crucial for educational institutions aiming to align their curricula with industry demands and for graduates seeking to maximize their career prospects. Notably, the role of financial support, academic performance, and early career experiences in influencing graduate prosperity remains underexplored. This study aims to analyze the correlation between finance support, GPA, study period, job waiting times, salary details, and the prosperity of graduates from the Faculty of Engineering at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. The prosperity of graduates is defined as earning wages equal to or exceeding the Indonesian minimum average wage. Using data from a tracer study questionnaire, the research employed logistic regression and correlation analysis to investigate these relationships. The data underwent several stages of filtering, resulting in a refined dataset of 70 records for analysis. This study used SPSS software for statistical analysis, focusing on descriptive statistics, correlation, and logistic regression models. The results highlighted significant predictors of graduate prosperity, including GPA and types of financial support, while illustrating the limited predictive power of early career experiences on long-term earnings. The study also indicated that extended study periods do not necessarily correlate with higher wages. In conclusion, the study underscores the importance of targeted educational strategies and student support systems that are responsive to the dynamics of the job market, enhancing the readiness and prosperity of engineering graduates

How physical exercises ameliorate dysmenorrhea in adolescence

    No full text
Dysmenorrhea is frequently reported by adolescents. Physical exercises is one method of overcoming the symptoms of primary dysmenorrhea. Consistent physical activity has been shown to induce the synthesis of endorphins, which function as analgesics within the body. This study presents a comprehensive review to synthesize evidence regarding the relation between physical activity or exercise with dysmenorrhea and how exercise can ameliorate dysmenorrhea in adolescents. This study followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) method to identify articles published within the last three years (2021-2023) via PubMed, Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar. This process yielded seven pertinent studies. The studies have demonstrated that engaging in physical activity can effectively alleviate the symptoms associated with menstrual discomfort. Physical exercise in regular time for a minimum of thirty minutes, three times per week, can also contribute to the alleviation of pain associated with menstrual discomfort among adolescent females diagnosed with primary dysmenorrhea. Isometric exercise, massage therapy, yoga, electrotherapy, connective tissue manipulation, stretching, kinesio tape, progressive relaxation exercise, aviva stretching exercise, stretching exercises, core strengthening exercise and aerobic exercise are the recommended forms of physical exercise in reducing the impact of primary dysmenorrhea. However, the extent to which one experiences these benefits is contingent upon the nature and intensity of the exercise

Proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) is the latest method used in flexibility training. This study shows something different from other studies. The purpose of this study was whether there were differences in flexibility in male and female students as a result of the static stretching training method and the PNF stretching training method. The samples in this study were 80 male and female students, which were taken randomly from the male population of 56 people and the female population of 45 people, so that a total of 101 people. The results showed that the two methods showed a significant improvement. However, the PNF stretching training method was more effective than the static stretching training method in increasing flexibility. Both applied to male students and female students. Although the PNF stretching training method has been proven to increase flexibility in both males and females, students and physical education teachers need to pay attention to this training method and do it regularly and continuously by considering the advantages and disadvantages of each method. The suggestions for further research are to carry out further, complete research, which is related to this research, by taking into account the essential differences between males and females, such as physical and physiological growth and development

    No full text
The development of electronic media may increase screen time (ST) duration, cause students to develop sedentary habits, and decrease their physical activity (PA). Lately, this has been thought to be the cause of the problem of low physical fitness (PF) among students. This study aimed to analyze the correlation between screen time, physical activity, and students\u27 physical fitness. The design of this study was correlational, with a total of 88 subjects in grades 4 and 5 at Primary Laboratoy School (Labschool) Unesa 1. The sampling technique was simple random sampling. Nusantara students\u27 physical fitness test (TKPN) was employed to assessed physical fitness, screen time-based sedentary behaviour questionnaire to assessed sedentary behaviour, and physical activity questionnaires for older children to assessed physical activity level. Data were collected in alignment with the physical education schedule for each class. Multinomial logistic regression was employed for data analysis. Findings revealed a significant simultaneous correlation among sedentary time (ST), physical activity (PA), and physical fitness (PF) (p = 0.017). However, partial analysis indicated no significant correlation between ST and PF (p = 0.517), while PA demonstrated a significant correlation with PF (p = 0.013). The results of the descriptive analysis showed that 73.9% of participants had very poor levels of physical fitness, and 43.18% of participants had low physical activity levels, with an average daily screen time duration of 3.03 hours. Participants accessed electronic media mostly to play games on smartphones, with an average of 2.28 hours. This study concluded that screen time was not directly affecting physical fitness but could reduce physical activity and student fitness. Despite screen time having no direct impact on physical fitness, this study recommends continuing to monitor screen time duration and increasing physical activity levels to mitigate potential risks associated with excessive screen use
