Agile Sales: An Exploration of Agile Methodologies in Sales

    No full text
In today’s highly dynamic environment, companies not only need new products and servicesbut also an innovative functional sales process. Companies that have an agile environment cancreate more innovative products and services. Over the past 25 to 30 years, agile methodologieshave drastically altered the process of software development. Recently, they have started tospread across a broad range of industries and functions. Yet, scant research has investigated theuse of agile methodologies in the sales industry. Hence, this paper contributes to the researchon agile methodologies by extending the context into sales and by providing important mana-gerial implications. The findings are based on in-depth interviews with sales representatives andagile experts across four countries. Benefits and impediments of agile methodologies in salesare outlined and success factors are described

Switching Fractioned R-CHOP Cycles to Standard R-CHOP Cycles Guided by Endoscopic Ultrasonography in Treating Patients with Primary Gastric Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma

    Get PDF
Primary gastric diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (PG-DLBCL) is a common subtype of extranodal non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), with rituximab, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine and prednisone (R-CHOP) as the commonly used treatment regimen. However, full cycles of standard R-CHOP present the risk of severe bleeding or perforation, even leading to emergency surgery, especially for those with deep lesions in their first 1–2 cycles of treatment. This study aims to explore the safety and efficacy of fractioned R-CHOP (rituximab d0, 50%dose of CHOP d1 and d5) followed by standard R-CHOP cycles in PG-DLBCL patients guided by endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS)

The Alignment of Top Executive Team Compensation with Company Performance

    No full text
Claims of excessive top executive team compensation irrespective of company performance resulted in a law allowing shareholders to approve compensation. The approval, called say-on-pay, was supposed to help align compensation with performance. Since say-on-pay was implemented in 2011, little has been done to test its efficacy. This study looks at the potential efficacy of say-on-pay by looking for evidence that compensation aligns with performance six years after say-on-pay was first implemented. Say-on-pay may have had its intended effect if, by 2017, compensation aligns with performance. Compensation is measured as all forms of pay given to the top five executives of a company. Performance is measured by company stock prices or factors that support stock prices, such as sales and earnings. A close alignment between compensation and performance should be possible because compensation is mostly company stock and stock options. However, agency costs and managerial power may overwhelm say-on-pay oversight so that compensation still does not align with company performance. This paper examines compensation and performance in S&P 500 companies in 2017 and finds little evidence that say-on-pay has aligned compensation with performance

Hiding in Plain Sight: The Globally Distributed Bacterial Candidate Phylum PAUC34f

    Get PDF
Bacterial candidate phylum PAUC34f was originally discovered in marine sponges and is widely considered to be composed of sponge symbionts. Here, we report 21 single amplified genomes (SAGs) of PAUC34f from a variety of environments, including the dark ocean, lake sediments, and a terrestrial aquifer. The diverse origins of the SAGs and the results of metagenome fragment recruitment suggest that some PAUC34f lineages represent relatively abundant, free-living cells in environments other than sponge microbiomes, including the deep ocean. Both phylogenetic and biogeographic patterns, as well as genome content analyses suggest that PAUC34f associations with hosts evolved independently multiple times, while free-living lineages of PAUC34f are distinct and relatively abundant in a wide range of environments

Building on the work of Sarah Allred, a faculty/student research team studied the impact of an Inside-Out course on academic self-efficacy at a maximum-security men\u27s prison on North Alabama. Attention was also given to the demographic backgrounds of the students so that researchers could examine what, if any, role demographics played in the results
