EKSU Journal of the Management Scientists: Effect of Economic and Social Sustainability Reporting on Firm Value of Listed Manufacturing Companies in Nigeria: Moderating Role of Information Asymmetry
No full textThis study investigates the moderating role of information asymmetry in shaping the effect of economic and social sustainability reporting on the firm value of listed manufacturing companies in Nigeria. Utilizing an ex-post facto research design, the study draws on a stratified sample of 29 manufacturing firms from a population of 43 listed on the Nigerian Exchange Group as of December 31, 2022. Spanning from 2007 to 2022, the study collects secondary data from annual reports, Nigeria All Share Index reports, and sustainability reports. Employing descriptive and inferential statistics, along with multiple regression techniques, the analysis considers Firm value (FV) as the dependent variable, Economic sustainability reporting (ECO) and Social sustainability reporting (SOC) as independent variables, and Information asymmetry (IA) as the moderating variable. Results indicate that economic sustainability reporting has a positive but insignificant effect on the firm value of listed manufacturing companies in Nigeria. In contrast, social sustainability reporting displays a negative and significant impact on firm value. Notably, information asymmetry shows a positive and significant effect on the relationship between social sustainability reporting and firm value, while it exhibits a positive but insignificant effect on the relationship between economic sustainability reporting and firm value. The study recommends that Nigerian manufacturing should enhance social sustainability reporting to mitigate information asymmetry and bolster firm value and should also improve economic sustainability reporting through the implementation of measures to reduce information asymmetry for long-term sustainable value creation
EKSU Journal of the Management Scientists: An Investigation of Socio-demographic Factors Influencing the Adoption of e-commerce: Perspective of Residents within Lagos State Metropolis
No full textThis study investigated socio-demographic factors influencing the adoption of electronic commerce (abbreviated as e-commerce). The study used descriptive research design, using quantitative technique. A total of 421 respondents were selected through purposive and convenience sampling techniques. Self-completed questionnaire was used to elicit responses from the respondents’ who are residents within Lagos state metropolis. Data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Generalized Linear Model. Results of the analysis revealed that all the four socio-demographic factors, namely: gender, age, level of education, and income significantly predicted adoption of electronic commerce. Specifically, gender (β= .110, X2=4.741, p= .029), age (β= .152, X2=39.969, p= .000), educational qualification (β= .374, X2=50.738, p= .000), and income (β= .110, X2=31.098, p= .000). The study concluded that consumer socio-demographic factors can promote or hinders adoption of online shopping and symbolizes important trend concerning consumer behaviour. Findings of the study offer analytical approach for assessing how consumer socio-demographics influence adoption of electronic commerce. The study contributed to the literature and business practice by incorporating a vital aspect of consumer (socio-demographic) towards online shopping. The study recommends that online vendors should repeatedly update their knowledge and understanding of basic consumer socio-demographic characteristics so as to strengthen consumer adoption of online shopping

This, we intend to achieve by using a wide range of research methods, including statistical tools, analytical work, case studies, field research, literature surveys and historical analysis. Articles accepted will be published in the issue of the current volume. Only manuscripts that adhere to the guidelines below will be accepted for publication in the Journal of Human Kinetics and Health Education:
The manuscript should be typed in double line space on A4 size paper with Microsoft words, Times New Roman, 12 point font size, preferred manuscript length is 12 typewritten pages.
The title of article, author\u27s name and affiliation and the full address, showing e-mail address and mobile phone number to which correspondence should be sent must be submitted on a separate sheet.
The abstract must not be more than 200 italicized words with focus on the purpose, methods, findings and recommendations; and a maximum of five key words.
Tables and figures are to be fixed appropriately in the manuscript. Tables should be in 2 decimal places and levels of significance clearly stated, where applicable.
Materials forwarded to the Journal for consideration should be original and not have been submitted to another publication or published elsewhere.
The current APA style of referencing should be adapted. Visit www.apastyle.org
Paper acceptance notification will be made known to contributors within 2 weeks after paper submission.
The Journal does not charge submission fee like other journals.
It is expected that the publication will be out by December, 2020.

As part of the mandate of Ekiti State University, Office of Research, Development and Innovation (EKSUORD) to periodically exhibit and advertise the potentials of research results within the University as well as promoting the dissemination of intellectual publications generally, EKSUORDI announces the publication of a Science and Engineering based University journal EKSU Journal of Science and Technology (EJST). The Journal which is an international academic journal provides a platform natural, agricultural, environmental, medical scientists and engineers as well as technologists to share and expand the knowledge of scientific advancements in the myriad disciplines of science and engineering and applied aspects.
AIMS AND FOCUS
EKSU Journal of Science and Technology aims to publish and disseminate original papers that:
address ethical or socioeconomic issues relating to modern agricultural and environmental science as applicable to developing countries;
contribute to the development of science and technology for economic advancement;
innovate near market or market ready technologies and processes
publish research findings on current topical issues in science and engineering of interest to both public and private
SCOPE
EJST will publish peer reviewed original research and critical reviews on agriculture, human nutrition or human health, scientific or technological information, with particular emphasis on interdisciplinary studies that explore the intersection of agriculture, science, engineering and environment.

REVIEW PROCESS
There shall be a review process of manuscripts by independent referees who are conversant and versatile in the pertinent subject area.
Authors should strive for maximum clarity of expression. Material which is not essential to the continuity of the text (e.g., proofs, derivations, or calculations) should be placed in Appendices Materials which have been previously copyrighted, published, or accepted for publication will not be considered for publication in the journal.
The editorial board is highly committed to the quick review process of the paper, but not with the sacrifice of the right judgment of a paper. The review process takes maximum of six weeks.
PROCEDURE FOR MANUSCRIPTACCEPTANCE FOR PUBLICATION
The manuscript would be sent to three (3) reviewers, of which two (2) of the reviewers\u27 comment must be positive before acceptance, and the authors would have to effect all the corrections pointed out by the reviewers in the reviewers form.
PAGE CHARGE PROOFAND REPRINTS
Manuscript should be submitted as e-mail attachment to the corresponding author who will be contacted via e-mail on the corrections of the manuscript. This volume of EJST is sponsored by Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund). With the exception of minor typographical errors, no changes will be made on the manuscript at the proof stage. A hard copy of the appropriate section and five (5) off prints would be provided for the corresponding author of each paper.

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION
Full Length Article:
Only original articles that have not been published elsewhere are invited.
The officially recognized medium of communication in the Journal is British English Language.
Manuscripts should not exceed 15-20 pages.
Title should be written in initial capitals and boldened with no full stop at the end
An abstract of 100-200 words (written in single line spacing in italics) should be included
Keywords should not be more than 5(five)
Manuscripts should be typed in double-line spacing using Microsoft Word on A4 size paper using 12 font size (Times News Roman Type)
All quotations should be in single-line spacing and should be of the same font size and style as in the main paper.
Author\u27s name, designation, affiliation and contacts (e.g. cell-phone lines, e-mail addresses) should be written on a separate and first sheet of the article sent to NIITH for review
Tables should be clearly typed using the MS Word Table Template. All illustrations (photographs, drawings, graphs etc.), excluding tables should be in 2 decimal places and levels of significance clearly stated. Where applicable, the SI units should be used.
