Tests and assessment of quality of the packagings in the aspect of their application in transport processes
No full textPackagings play an important role in economy. In transport, they are used to secure all kinds of products from sender to consumer. Due to growing and changing needs of the market, packagings must have appropriate aesthetic qualities and resistance to external factors that may occur during transport. Therefore, it is important to constantly adapt packagings in the context of complying with standards of transport of products. The goal of the article was to analyse and assess selected properties of packagings of cosmetic products in the aspect of transport processes. Strength tests (compression test, tensile test), test of resistance of the packagings to high temperature and test of changes of properties of the packagings using an immersion method were conducted. An analysis of conducted tests gave an answer for the question whether packaging properly protect products in a transport process

Using the shuffle algorithm the fractional descriptor linear system is reduced to the equivalent standard system and the system is decomposed into dynamic and static parts. Procedure for computation of the matrices of equivalent standard system and of the dynamical and static parts of the system is proposed
Multi-criteria multi-stage game optimization
No full textThe article presents a mathematical model of a multi-stage game of the process of safe control of a transport object in possible collision situations with other encountered objects, containing a description of state variables, state and control constraints, and sets of permissible object strategies. Multi-criteria optimization tasks were formulated in the form of positional and matrix games under the conditions of playing non-cooperative and cooperative control as well as non-game optimal control. The multi-criteria control algorithms corresponding to these tasks were computer simulated in Matlab / Simulink on the example of a real situation
Modelling and simulation of Adhesion of the RAIL vehicle
No full textIn the paper we consider the issue related to the phenomenon of wheel-to-rail adhesion. This issue concerns self-excited vibrations in the area of wheel-rail contact, caused by unstable friction. Such friction is characterized by decreasing values of the friction coefficient with increasing slipping velocity. The paper includes mathematical formulation of the problem and presents the method for solving it. In addition, a simulation of elementary vehicle driving was performed. During the simulation, self-excited vibrations arose during wheel slip caused by high driving torque. The paper presents graphs illustrating the tangential force and the slipping velocity during these vibrations

Jedną ze strategicznych barier, mających wpływ na ich rozwój są ograniczenia kapitałowe. Deficyt kapitału ma ogromny wpływ na konkurencyjność firmy oraz na generowane przez nią dochody. Kierowanie działalnością na teraźniejszym rynku wymaga systematycznego dostosowywania się do warunków, które się zmieniają. Aby osiągnąć te wymagania, podmioty gospodarcze wdrażają innowacje. Umożliwia to osiągnięcie oraz za-chowanie przewagi konkurencyjnej, a także stanowi podstawę sukcesu przedsiębiorstwa. Jednak inwestowaniu w organizację towarzyszy zwiększony poziom ryzyka jak również podwyższone zapotrzebowanie finansowe. Celem pracy jest próba oceny istotności i znaczenia środków pochodzących z kredytów. W artykule dokonano przeglądu literatury przedmiotu oraz przeprowadzono badania ankietowe i dokonano ich analizy. Dodatkowo scharakteryzowano najważniejsze rodzaje kredytów, jakie są aktualnie dostępne dla przedsiębiorstw w Polsce

Teaching English to upper primary learners with ADHD
Get PDFThe article begins with the presentation of students with special educational needs based on the Regulation of the Minister of National Education. Then, it discusses the general principles of working with such students, giving specific tips for English teachers. Subsequently, it presents the results of the occurrence of the phenomenon based on various studies on the territory of the United States and selected European countries. In addition, it focuses on the three main characteristic symptoms of students with ADHD (attention deficit, impulsiveness, hyperactivity) and explains the subtypes of ADHD. The author also adds characteristics of students with ADD. Particular attention is paid to presenting ways of adapting the English language teaching environment in the primary school to the needs of students with ADHD and the most effective rules of cooperation with them. Finally, it describes selected practical tips for working with students with ADHD at the second educational level of the primary school, giving examples of exercises developing various language skills
Fuel lubricity and its laboratory evaluation
No full textThis literature review paper discusses the subject of lubricating properties of liquid hydrocarbon-based fuels and laboratory bench tests applied in lubricity evaluation. The analysis was made in order to highlight the importance of fuel lubricity evaluation, especially application of relatively rapid laboratory tests. Inadequate lubricity may lead to an excessive wear of fuel injection system components and in some cases ? even to catastrophic failure what, in turn, manifests itself in higher replacement costs, shortened service life, inefficient engine performance and increased tailpipe emissions. Nowadays, when more and more rigorous emissions standards for transportation fuels are continuously established, the satisfactory fuel lubricity is of great importance. Lubricity determines the antiwear behaviour of the lubricant over the regime of boundary lubrication when the moving surfaces are separated only by a very thin fluid film adhering to them. The most important role in forming such films is played by polar compounds and aromatic hydrocarbons that are naturally present in crude oil derived fuels. However, the refinery processes applied in fuel production remove them, thus reducing the lubricity. Fuel lubricity problems were first defined in the mid-1960s and resulted from more severe refining and treatment processes applied in the production of aviation kerosene. In those days, injection equipment failures in aircraft turbine engines were reported. Then, in the late 1980s, similar problems were revealed after the implementation by US and NATO forces of ?The Single Fuel Forward? policy which mandated that all military vehicles must be operable with kerosene-based fuel. Lubricity problems regarding diesel fuel emerged in the late 1990s when some countries set limits on the sulphur and aromatic hydrocarbon content in this fuel. The paraffinic diesel fuel produced by the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis or hydrotreatment process that is more commonly applied nowadays also possesses very low lubricating properties. Generally, to provide good fuel lubricity, various additives are applied and bench tests are mostly employed to estimate their effectiveness. Since 1960 many test rigs have been developed. Several inter-laboratory test programs were carried out to select the best bench tests that would show good correlation with field experience. Among them, only BOCLE, HFFR, and SLBOCLE test methods become industry standards
