Computer workers’ sedentary work, together with less active lifestyles, aggravated by the COVID-19 pandemic, represents a high risk for many chronic diseases, leading to a decrease in health related quality of life (QoL). Workplace exercises consist of a set of physical exercises, implemented during work breaks, that have multiple benefits for workers’ health. Aim: To assess the impact of online workplace exercises on computer workers’ perception of quality of life. Methods: Quasi experimental study with two groups: a control group (n = 26) and an intervention group (n = 13). The inclusion criteria were that participants must be aged between 18 and 65 years old and the exclusion criteria included diagnosis of non-work-related medical conditions. The interventions consisted of workplace exercises, which were applied for 17 consecutive weeks, each session lasting 15 min, three times a week. The exercise programme, performed online and guided by a physiotherapist, consisted of mobility exercises, flexibility and strength exercises, with the help of a TheraBand® for elastic resistance. The control group were not subjected to any intervention. A socio demographic questionnaire and the Health Survey Questionnaire (SF-36v2) were used in two assessment stages (M0—baseline and M1—final of intervention). A mixed ANOVA with interaction time*group was used to evaluate the effect of the exercise programme. Results: A good perception of the QoL was obtained in both stages. The exercise programme had a positive effect in the domains of Pain (ptime*group = 0.012, 2p = 0.158), Physical Function (ptime*group = 0.078, 2p = 0.082), Physical Performance (ptime*group = 0.052, 2p = 0.098), and Emotional Performance (ptime*group = 0.128, 2p = 0.061). Conclusion: After 17 weeks of workplace exercises, it became clear that the intervention group positively increased their QoL perception, with this improvement being significant in the Pain domain, which resulted in an improvement in their health condition. Therefore, further studies are needed to determine the optimal exercise for CWs, with detailed exercise types, different intensities and focused on various health conditions.9E1A-F9DD-3EB8 | Filipe Manuel ClementeN/

Context and objective: Aging is one of the great societal challenges of the 21st century, as more and more people worldwide are living longer (Rosa, 2020). Ensuring quality of life and well-being for the population is one of the goals to be achieved in this decade (WHO, 2020). Quality of life is defined by the WHO (1994) as an individual's perception of his or her life, taking into account the context of the culture and value systems in which they live and considering their objectives, expectations, standards, and concerns. Diener (2000) states that life satisfaction is a cognitive appreciation of life, through subjective judgment, according to the standard set by the subject. A person is understood to have high subjective well-being when he or she is satisfied with life and lives in a positive way. According to Ryff et al (2021), research shows that individuals as they age tend to prioritize positive emotions over negative ones (positivity phenomenon). As the day center is a social response, developed in equipment, which aims to maintain the elderly in their social and family environment, it is observed that research is scarce in this field (Orellana et al, 2020). This study aims to analyze the relationship between quality of life and life satisfaction/well-being in older adults who attend the day-care center. Method: this study forms an integral part of the CD.Living project, it is a quantitative, cross-sectional, descriptive-correlational study that includes the participation of 108 people aged 65 or over who frequent the Centro de Dia social response. Data were collected using: sociodemographic form; Portuguese version of the Lawton Index (AIVD; Araújo et al, 2008); Portuguese version of the WHOQOL-BREF (Canavarro et al, 2010); Portuguese version of the life satisfaction scale (Neto et al, 1990). Results: Data were collected from older adults attending day care centers in the northern region of Portugal. The results show that the 108 participants are mostly women (70.4%), with a mean age of 80.0 years (DP = 7.57; Min= 65; Max= 96), predominantly widows (54.6%), low education (61.1%), difficulty in ensuring expenses (75.9%). In general quality of life, the participants obtained a mean score of 49.3 (DP=20.9), translating into a low level of quality of life. In the domains of the WHOQOL-Bref scale the lowest mean value is in social relationships 47.6 (DP=16.4) and highest mean value is environment 53.2 (DP=16.1). There are statistically significant differences between Quality of Life and education in three domains, in general quality of life domain (U= 712; p = 0.002), psychological domain (U= 766.5; p = 0.008) and environment domain (U= 852, 5; p = 0.042). There are also statistically significant differences between Quality of life and marital status in three domains, in the psychological domain (χ 2(2) = 7.289; p = 0.026), the social relations domain (χ 2(2) = 8.904; p = 0.012) and the environment domain (χ 2(2) = 6.502; p = 0.039). Quality of Life as a function of income presents a statistically significant difference in the psychological ( t (85) = - 2.728; p=0.008) and environment ( t (85) = - 2.015; p=0.047) domains. Analysis of the relationships between variables, demonstrated positive and significant weak to moderate associations (Bryman & Cramer, 2003) between life satisfaction and overall quality of life (r= 0.422; p=0.01), as well as between life satisfaction and specific domains of quality of life- physical (r= 0.224; p=0.05), psychological (r= 0.605; p=0.01), social relationships (r= 0.524; p=0.01), environment (r= 0.538; p=0.01). Conclusion: Considering that quality of life and satisfacion are assocwith life iated and that these are the "outcomes" of active and healthy aging, we conclude that in gerontological practice these aspects must be considered in the design and implementation of programs in social responses, namely in Day Care Centers

In recent years, there have been transformations not only in terms of infrastructure, but also in terms of logistical locations. With economic growth, new approaches have emerged to transport, logistics and infrastructure location models that are seen as critical to the value creation of economic zones. Infrastructures play a very important role, and their development and implementation have a direct influence on location decisions. On the one hand, infrastructure can have positive aspects such as increasing accessibility, reducing costs and attracting people, on the other hand it can have externalities such as increased traffic, increased pollution and increased noise. The decision to locate any infrastructure must be strategic, reducing installation costs and satisfying customer needs. It should be noted that location and infrastructure interact with each other to determine the direction and size of flows. To determine the location of the infrastructures, several methodologies can be used. In this present dissertation, the center of gravity method will be used, whose objective is to find the best point for the installation of a charging station, taking into account several variables. The results obtained reveal that we must always take into account more than one methodology so that our result is as reliable as possible

Purpose: To determine the effects of maturation stage (eg, classified in the same intervention protocol as early-, and late-mature) on linear sprinting speed adaptations to plyometric jump training (PJT) in youth (aged <18 years) male team sports players. Patients and Methods: Eligibility criteria was determined based on PICOS: (P) healthy youth male team sport players classified in the same intervention protocol in ≥2 maturation-related categories, based on a recognized maturation stage-determination method, including (but not limited to) Tanner stage; peak height velocity (eg, Mirwald method); radiography-based method (eg, Fels method); (I) athletes exposed to PJT with a minimum of 4 weeks duration; (C) athletes non-exposed to PJT (non-dedicated intervention, ie, only field-based regular training) or performing a parallel intervention not-related with PJT organized by maturation levels; (O) sprinting speed (eg, time, maximal sprint speed) measured in any linear sprint test trajectories before and after the intervention; (S) only randomized controlled and/or parallel trials. Searches were conducted on December 2021 in EMBASE, PubMed, Scopus, SPORTDiscus and Web of Science, restricted to Portuguese, Spanish and English languages, with no restrictions regarding publication date, and no filters applied. The PEDro scale was used to assess the risk of bias in the included studies. Meta-analysis was computed using the inverse variance random-effects model. The significance level was set at p < 0.05. Results: The search identified 1219 titles. From those, four studies were selected for qualitative and quantitative synthesis. Four studies provided data for sprinting performance, involving 10 experimental and 8 control groups showing a small effect of trained participants on sprinting performance (ES = 0.31; p = 0.064; I2 = 41.3%) when compared to controls. No significant moderator effect was noted for somatic maturity (p = 0.473 between groups). Conclusion: PJT had no significant effect on sprinting performance, although the inclusion criteria partially may explain that.9E1A-F9DD-3EB8 | Filipe Manuel ClementeN/

Degenerative knee pathology is one of the most frequent causes of disability in Western populations. The clinical manifestations of the disease have obvious repercussions on people's lives, and Total Knee Arthroplasty is the most common treatment option in cases of advanced knee arthrosis. Goal to evaluate the influence of a Rehabilitation Nursing programme on the functional capacity of people undergoing TKA. Methodology Quasi-experimental and longitudinal study, based on a quantitative paradigm. The sample, composed of 40 participants, underwent a Rehabilitation Nursing programme. The period of intervention and data collection occurred between December 2022 and February 2023, in which each participant was the target of the Rehabilitation Nursing care intervention. Data were collected in three different moments by completing the selected instruments. Results The study reveals that patients undergoing TKA have better functional capacity in walking, stair climbing/stairs and joint range of motion (flexion/extension) at admission than at clinical discharge. However, if there is a reduction in this capacity, between 48 hours and clinical discharge, there is an improvement in walking, stair climbing/climbing and joint range of motion (flexion/extension). It also reveals that the person submitted to TKA presents a higher level of pain at admission than at 48 hours postoperatively and at discharge. Conclusion The results of the study indicated that there are statistically significant differences in the walking, stair climbing/stairs and knee joint range of motion (flexion/extension) of the person undergoing TKA, indicating that the Nursing Rehabilitation programme translates into health gains. No statistically significant results were found regarding pain, but a decrease was observed from admission to clinical discharge

This retrospective cohort study aimed to analyze the effect of a 9-week detraining caused by COVID-19 lock-down on the maximal aerobic speed (MAS) of youth soccer players. The study included twenty-two under-16 male players competing at the national league level (15.4 ± 0.7 years old) who were analyzed pre and post the detraining period. The MAS was estimated using the Bronco’s test. Moreover, the self-regulated physical exercise performed by the players during the lockdown was monitored using a questionnaire. Considering the training volume per week, the players were grouped into those working more (>180 min/week) and those working less (<180 min/week) during the lockdown. Within-group changes revealed no significant differences (p = 0.122; d = 0.381) in the group that self-trained less than 180 min/week started (pre-lockdown) at 3.97 ± 0.29 m/s and ended (post-lockdown) at 3.85 ± 0.34 m/s, corresponding to a decrease of 3.02%. For those who self-trained more than 180 min/week during the lockdown, they started with 4.33 ± 0.28 m/s and decreased by 1.62% for 4.26 ± 0.28 m/s (p = 0.319; d = 0.250). The team as a whole (pooled data, all players included) decreased 2.27% from 4.15 ± 0.34 to 4.06 ± 0.37 m/s (p = 0.077; d = 0.321). Between group analysis revealed that the group of players that trained more than 180 min/weeks were significantly better than players working below 180 min/week in both pre-lockdown moment (+9.01%; p = 0.007; d = 1.263) and post-lockdown moment (10.6%; p = 0.006; d = 1.323). Home-based training can be a good strategy to mitigate the detraining effects caused by a lockdown.9E1A-F9DD-3EB8 | Filipe Manuel ClementeN/

an explanatory model as a function of weekly physical activity

Adolescence is a key developmental period from a health, physical and psychological perspective. In view of this, the present research aimed to establish the relationship between emotional intelligence, Mediterranean diet adherence, BMI and age. In order to address this aim, (a) an explanatory model is developed of emotional intelligence and its relationship with Mediterranean diet adherence, BMI and age, and (b) the proposed structural model is examined via multi-group analysis as a function of whether students engage in more than three hours of physical activity a week. To this end, a quantitative, non-experimental (ex post facto), comparative and cross-sectional study was carried out with a sample of 567 students (11.10 ± 1.24). The instruments used were an ad hoc questionnaire, the KIDMED questionnaire and the TMMS-24. Outcomes reveal that participants who engage in more than three hours of physical activity a week score more highly for emotional intelligence than those who do not meet this criterion. Furthermore, it was also observed that, whilst the majority of the sample was physically active, improvement was required with regards to Mediterranean diet adherence.9E1A-F9DD-3EB8 | Filipe Manuel ClementeN/
