Assessment of the electronic conductivity of core-shell, Fe-doped LSGM ceramics by impedance spectroscopy
The structure, microstructure and low-temperature electrical properties of core–shell-type mixed conductors based on lanthanum gallate with Fe-doped grain boundaries are analyzed in depth. Electron probe microanalysis revealed that the iron concentration in the grain-boundary regions (shell) is below 1 at.% and their thickness is no more than 1.5 μm. The low-temperature (b400 °C) electronic conductivity is enhanced by up to 2–3 orders of magnitude with respect to the corresponding undoped ceramics, as revealed by the analysis of impedance spectra combined with microstructural information. The electronic transport numbers lie in the range between 0.35 and 0.1 at 275 to 400 °C, decreasing at higher temperatures, where the influence of grain boundaries on the overall transport properties vanishes and the ionic conductivity increases.371C-9F16-EBDE | Eduarda GomesN/

The design thinking process in the development of an intelligent microscopic equipment
This article aims to demonstrate how the application of user-focused methodologies, namely through the concept of Design Thinking, within a multidisciplinary work team, were important tools for the development of the “μSmartScope” project in the field of intelligent microscopy. In particular, this article focuses on the description of the design process, techniques and tools used to obtain information, and how it was reflected in the designed solution. Carrying out this work, according to the Design Thinking methodology, had the obligation to be adapted to the pandemic context, namely through the use of digital means such as interviews and online meetings, without losing the true essence of this methodology. The results obtained were the sum of all detected needs, which are the means to justify conceptual and technical choices for the project, and thus validate the involvement of a methodology based on Human-Centred Design (HCD). This analysis served as a justification for introducing these types of concepts in learning opportunities, in order to develop projects more focused on users in a real context and their involvement within the project itself, resulting in the design of a product capable of promoting a safer, more efficient, and comfortable relationship with the target audience.101E-1BBD-F278 | João Carlos Monteiro Martinsinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
Secure services integration and edge computing for effective beekeeping
Many of the issues that require resolution are not easy to mitigate just from the technology perspective. The ancestral learned logic of processes, the people traditions, and many other variants define inner contexts that make the adhesion and efficient use of information technologies a delicate process. The enormous geographical dispersion of the beekeeping economic activity, the mostly amateur profile of beekeepers, and the specificity in the traditional way as the activity is managed, compromises the applicability of integrative measures based on ICTE. Efficient and integrated management of a no-professionalized economic activity depends on two basic principles: i) the existence of effective tools capable of managing that activity and its synergies with other related activities, and ii) an infrastructure (technological, procedural, legal) that supports services properly profiled for any actor in that activity. This paper describes the work-in-process sBee - Smart Beekeeping, an applied research project that sought to integrate emerging technologies on the innovative management of critical issues that beekeeping needs to overcome. Electronic devices, Internet-of-things, advanced management algorithms, and innovative visualization services were explored. The global system architecture, its supporting services, and the communication infrastructure are here described. The integration of both internet-of-things and communications services, with the common beekeeping’s management tasks, levered a proposal for improving this activity to become more effective. Furthermore, an advanced technological supporting platform was created and experimented, prepared for further developments, on mitigating emergent challenges that the digitization promotes, namely the security and traceability on food and related agriculture value-chains, as well as on the predictive and intelligent perception of current and future scenarios.911A-2C18-106F | Carlos Jorge Enes Capitão de AbreuN/
Symbolic approach to the general quadratic polynomial decomposition
In this work we deal with a symbolic approach to the general quadratic polynomial decomposition. By
means of a symbolic implementation, we investigate some properties of the components sequences like orthogonality and symmetry. We present some explicit results for a collection of well known orthogonal cases.4516-0A1C-E9CD | Teresa Augusta MesquitaN/
This report was developed within the scope of the curricular unit of Supervised
Teaching Practice, integrated in the master’s degree in Teaching the 1st Cycle of Basic
Education and Portuguese and History and Geography of Portugal in the 2nd Cycle of
Basic Education.
The empirical study was carried out in a 5th grade class at a public education
establishment in the district of Viana do Castelo, over eleven weeks. The research is
entitled “Learning Pre-History and Ancient History in the 5th Year of Schooling: visual
literacy experiences in the HGP school manual” and was part of the area of History and
Geography of Portugal. A qualitative methodology was favoured, and data were collected
through direct observation of the class, carrying out an initial survey, the different
proposed activities, and a final survey.
At first, the students carried out an initial survey to perceive their opinions in
relation to the subject and the manual and their knowledge in relation to the local and
cultural heritage. In a next phase, they carried out a set of activities, which made it
possible to work on different ways of approaching the manual and appealing to visual
literacy as a way of acquiring knowledge.
At the end, the students carried out a final survey, which aimed to know the
evolution of the students in relation to the taste for the subject, while working on
contents and appealing to the use of the manual and its iconographic sources as a form of
study. With regard to data analysis, this was based on the analysis of four categories,
namely, mobilization of cumulative contents within the scope of the History and
Geography of Portugal, use of new vocabulary related to HGP, integration of didactic
purposes and student involvement in activities, which made it possible to analyse the
evolution of students in terms of cumulative knowledge within the scope of the HGP and,
simultaneously, in the teaching-learning process. In turn, The intervention carried out proved that it is possible to work the HGP in a
dynamic way, appealing to iconography, visual culture, and its analysis as a way of
acquiring knowledge, and in an articulated way with the Portuguese curriculum, enabling
the motivating exploration of related contents with prehistory, archaeology and ancient
history
Nice payer - a software platform for registering debtors with past due debts

normativos (ex., desemprego); (2) acontecimentos normativos dentro e fora do timing (ex., perda
ABSTRACT Aging can be understood as a dynamic process with gains and losses throughout life, punctuated by normative and nonnormative life events. The type, timing, sequence, and combination of events influences the quality of life trajectories. The present study aims to understand the adaptive process, in the sequence of a comparative study – AgeNortC Project. The participants are 10 extreme cases that presented scores in the 75 percentile in Ryff’s well-being scales. Data collection was performed
with a semi structured interview and the content analysis followed the data analysis process
proposed by Creswell (2009), based on an inductive approach structured in five steps: preparing
data, conducting analysis, perceiving data, representing the data, and interpret its meaning. Globally,
the content analysis allowed the identification of: (1) normative (ex., school) and nonnormative life
events (ex., unemployment); (2) normative life events within and outside timing (ex., parent’s death
in childhood); (3) a cluster of events. These results point towards the relevance of human plasticity in
adaptive processes.
Paper folding for an active learning of mathematics: an experience with preservice teachers
ABSTRACT: Students are active individuals that build, modify and integrate ideas, interacting
with the physical world, materials and other students. Furthermore, not all students learn in
the same way, some learn better by seeing, others by listening, others by moving. So, we
developed an exploratory study of qualitative nature, with elementary preservice teachers,
where the emphasis was on a teaching approach based on problem solving, mathematical
communication and collaborative work that involved the manipulation of a sheet of paper.
We intended to identify the relevance of this approach with preservice teachers and what
were the main difficulties revealed, related to the proposed tasks. Preliminary results allowed
to identify several difficulties in terms of mathematical communication and the manipulation
of the sheet of paper to solve a problem. However, they reacted positively to the tasks,
expressing interest, motivation and recognition of its importance in mathematical learning at
any level.
