    Neuroscience of Music: Impact of Musical Stimulation on Brain Plasticity and Education. A Literature Review

    The impact of musical training on brain plasticity has been extensively researched, demonstrating its influence on crucial aspects such as cognitive development, memory, executive function, and language acquisition. This review highlights the main scientific findings that show how musical education strengthens neural connections, induces both structural and functional changes in the auditory cortex, and enhances the integration of fundamental brain networks, such as the salience network.Studies indicate that musical training during childhood enhances verbal memory, auditory discrimination, and reading ability, which in turn facilitates second language learning and the development of mathematical skills. Furthermore, musical training stimulates neuroplasticity in adults and has been successfully used in the neurorehabilitation of patients with cognitive and motor impairments. Recent research also suggests that live music triggers greater brain stimulation in the affective domain compared to recorded music, emphasizing its importance in therapeutic contexts.From an educational perspective, the implementation of music education programs can significantly contribute to students\u27 holistic development, improving their academic performance and emotional well-being. These findings support the inclusion of musical strategies in public education and health policies, promoting their access as an essential tool for human development. In conclusion, musical training not only promotes cognitive development but also presents significant therapeutic applications for diverse populations.

    Echoes in the Genome: Smoking’s Epigenetic Fingerprints and Bidirectional Neurobiological Pathways in Addiction and Disease

    Smoking remains a global health crisis, contributing to addiction and diverse diseases through complex biological mechanisms. This study explores the hypothesis that smoking induces epigenetic modifications and alters bidirectional neurobiological pathways, perpetuating addiction and disease progression. Leveraging a dataset of 55,692 individuals with 27 health metrics, we analyze associations between smoking status and physiological markers (e.g., lipid profiles, blood pressure, liver enzymes) to infer potential epigenetic and neurobiological mediators. Preliminary data reveal significant correlations between smoking and elevated triglycerides, LDL cholesterol, and liver function markers, suggesting systemic inflammation and oxidative stress as plausible intermediaries. We propose a methodology integrating bioinformatics and systems biology to map smoking-associated phenotypic changes to epigenetic loci (e.g., DNA methylation) and neural circuits (e.g., dopaminergic pathways). This work aims to bridge clinical observations with molecular mechanisms, offering insights into personalized interventions targeting smoking’s epigenetic "fingerprints" and their neurobiological consequences

    Pedagogical strategies for teaching computing in technical education: A sociocultural approach

    Introduction: The study examines the role of information technology as a fundamental discipline in the training of industrial maintenance workers. Based on Activity Theory and Engeström\u27s Expanded Triangle, the research analyzes the impact of mediating artifacts, such as Moodle and other digital tools, on the learning process.Methods: A qualitative-descriptive approach was applied, focusing on students enrolled in the Industrial Maintenance University Technical Degree. Data collection included performance records, academic evaluations, self-perception surveys, and semi-structured interviews with students and instructors. The analysis was conducted using content analysis and descriptive statistics.Results: Findings indicate that digital tools facilitated learning, but students tended to overestimate their knowledge of information technology. Conductivist models proved more effective for acquiring technical skills, while constructivist approaches supported deeper learning. Student interaction in forums was a key factor in collaborative learning, whereas participation in videoconferences was minimal.Conclusions: Teaching information technology in industrial maintenance education requires a flexible methodological approach that integrates mixed learning strategies. The establishment of clear community norms and the adaptation of pedagogical models to students\u27 needs are essential to optimize learning processes. Future research should explore hybrid methodologies to enhance IT education, fostering autonomy and knowledge appropriation among students.

    Pedagogical innovation in the 21st century to improve inclusive educational processes in Latin America

    The aim of this article was to examine the relationship between pedagogical innovation and inclusive education, taking the Latin American region as a starting point; therefore, a qualitative review was carried out with a focus on grounded theory, using Bibliometrix, through RStudio with information extracted from Scopus during the period 2019-2023. The data were processed and analyzed in formats compatible with Excel. The results showed the scientific production on pedagogical innovation in education, the main sources on this topic, the scientific production of the best journals, the most relevant affiliations, scientific production by region and a thematic mapping of key descriptors. It is concluded that higher education institutions and companies headed by governments in Latin America must take advantage of the advancement of technology to encourage individuals to continuously innovate, for the benefit of education and society in general

    Inverted Classroom as a Tool for Civic Education and Electoral Participation

    IntroductionThe research analyzed the implementation of the Inverted Classroom as a methodology for training in the exercise of the optional vote in second year high school students at the Unidad Educativa Particular Sudamericano, in Santo Domingo de los Colorados, Ecuador. We examined how this innovative strategy could strengthen the knowledge and electoral participation of students in a context where voting is optional for young people from 16 to 18 years old. The need to improve civic education through the use of digital resources and active methodologies was identified.DevelopmentThe study addressed the Inverted Classroom as a tool that allows transferring theoretical learning outside the classroom, using information and communication technologies (ICT). International and national antecedents on its application in different disciplines were reviewed, finding that this methodology fosters critical thinking and autonomy in students. In addition, the challenges in its implementation were highlighted, such as the digital divide and the need for teacher training in the use of technological platforms. A comparative analysis was made with previous experiences of Inverted Classroom in Latin America, highlighting its positive impact on student motivation.ConclusionThe study concluded that the Inverted Classroom represents an effective alternative for teaching optional voting, promoting civic participation and critical reflection in young people. However, its success depends on the availability of technology and teacher training. It is recommended that its implementation be accompanied by educational policies that guarantee equity in access to digital resources

    Throughout history, educational psychology underwent a significant evolution, giving rise to various paradigms that influenced teaching and learning. The cognitive paradigm emphasized information processing and meaningful learning, highlighting the role of memory and the organization of knowledge. Jean Piaget, Jerome Bruner and David Ausubel proposed models that emphasized the importance of mental structures and prior knowledge in the assimilation of new information.On the other hand, Piaget\u27s psychogenetics approached the development of thought through evolutionary stages, emphasizing the interaction between the subject and his environment. Subsequently, Vygotsky\u27s sociocultural paradigm introduced the relevance of context and social interaction in learning, formulating the concept of the Zone of Proximal Development (ZDP) as a means to enhance cognitive development through the mediation of other more experienced individuals.Constructivism consolidated the idea that learning was not a passive process, but an active construction of the subject in interaction with his or her environment. David Ausubel emphasized the need for meaningful learning to achieve lasting understanding. With the advance of technology, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) acquired a fundamental role in education, facilitating new teaching and evaluation strategies. In conclusion, psychoeducational paradigms transformed education, allowing the application of innovative approaches to improve the learning process and the formation of competencies in students

    Proposal for a system of teaching aids for the basic clinic integration of endocrine-metabolic diseases

    Introduction. The need for basic-clinical integration in the teaching-learning of Basic Biomedical Sciences in the Medicine career corresponds to contemporary trends in medical education, and the transformations of the Cuban National Health System. Objective. Develop a system of teaching aids for the basic clinical integration of metabolic endocrine diseases. Method. A technological development investigation was carried out, where theoretical methods such as historical-logical, systemic-structural and empirical were also used, as well as the documentary analysis that supports the study. Results. The system of teaching means developed, establishes a support material for teaching in the Medicine career, for students, and motivates them to search for information, and at the same time, the construction of their own knowledge, accepting a active position in their learning, the teacher acting as a facilitator of their learning, manifesting in turn the current demands of higher medical education. Conclusions. The teaching media system on endocrine-metabolic diseases, which uses information technology and communications, will allow students to develop clinical reasoning skills, on scientific bases, favoring developer learning, relating the transfer of subject contents biomedical basics and morphofunctionally basing clinical situations

    The National University of Pilar (UNP), founded in 1991 and formalized by Law Number 529/94, is a key institution in higher education in Paraguay. In an environment of rapid change and high competition, ensuring the quality and sustainability of its programs is a fundamental challenge. This study uses Porter\u27s five forces model to analyze UNP\u27s competitive position, assessing the threat of new competitors, the bargaining power of suppliers, the bargaining power of students and their families, the presence of substitute products, and rivalry in the sector. The objective is to analyze how these forces affect UNP\u27s competitiveness. To this end, five specific objectives are established. The research is descriptive and explanatory, with a qualitative approach. Data are collected through interviews and documentary analysis with participants including students, teachers, and directors and coordinators. The findings indicate that UNP faces increasing competition from private universities that offer similar programs with greater flexibility. The threat of substitutes, such as online courses and technical training programs, also affects the demand for its programs

    Introduction: Leadership has been the subject of multiple studies due to its impact on organizational management and team management. Different theorists, such as Krieger, Chiavenato and Yukl, analyzed leadership from an interpersonal influence perspective, highlighting its role in decision making and employee motivation. This research focused on the analysis of leadership characteristics, its styles and its influence on organizational dynamics.  Development: The study made it possible to identify the essential features of leadership, such as the ability to influence, strategic vision, service vocation and humility. Also, different leadership styles were analyzed, from autocratic to transformational, and their effect on team motivation and performance. Decision-making was presented as a key factor in organizational management, showing that effective leaders knew how to adapt their approach according to the circumstances and the level of commitment of their followers. In addition, the importance of motivation within leadership was highlighted, pointing out that recognition, training and personalized attention were decisive in improving productivity and strengthening job satisfaction.  Conclusions: It was concluded that leadership does not respond to a single ideal model, but must be adjusted to the needs of the organization and its members. Successful leadership is characterized by the ability to inspire, guide and empower human talent. Finally, it was recommended to continue researching the relationship between leadership, innovation and job satisfaction in order to improve management strategies in different organizational environments

    Development of linguistic skills through the theatrical theater

    Early childhood education required innovative strategies to enhance the comprehensive development of children, especially at the preparatory level. According to the Ministry of Education (2016), teachers had to implement methodologies that transcended the simple transmission of knowledge, focusing on linguistic and communicative skills. In this context, the theatrino was presented as an effective tool, integrating visual, auditory and kinesthetic elements to improve oral expression and social interaction.At the Carlos Cisneros Educational Unit, there was evidence of insufficient development of language skills in high school students, reflected in their lack of confidence in public speaking, difficulties in verbal communication and poor participation in class. This problem was attributed to traditional teaching methodologies, focused on memorization and theory, without encouraging experiential learning.The research was based on a quantitative approach with a sample of 132 students, determining that the theatrino facilitated linguistic learning through dramatization and storytelling. It was concluded that the use of the teatrino promoted the children\u27s oral development, verbal fluency and social interaction. As a result, its implementation was proposed as a pedagogical strategy to improve the students\u27 participation and linguistic performance, thus strengthening their communication both in the classroom and in their family environment
