    Get PDF
Improving telemedicine services and making virtual care more patient-centered depend on personalised health informatics systems.  These platforms leverage innovative technologies such artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics as healthcare systems evolve to fit a digital-first world to provide tailored treatment plans, real-time monitoring, and future-use health information.  With an eye towards how they may enhance patient outcomes, improve healthcare services, and reduce running costs, this article explores how tailored health information systems might be employed in telemedicine.  These instruments help to give accurate, tailored treatment that is more effective and sensitive to each patient\u27s requirements by utilising knowledge on each patient\u27s medical history, genetics, habits, and real-time biometrics.  Combining artificial intelligence with machine learning enables constant data analysis. This gives us predictive analytics that can find early signs of health problems and help us make better decisions about care.  Personalised health informatics systems also encourage patient participation by giving them tools for self-monitoring and communicating with healthcare providers. This leads to better relationships between patients and providers and better obedience to treatment plans.  As remote care gets better and easier to use, doctors and nurses can take care of more patients without lowering the level of care.  Also, using safe ways to share data protects patients\u27 privacy and makes it easy for patients, carers, and healthcare teams to talk to each other.  Even though there have been improvements, problems like data protection, interoperability, and following the rules are still stopping these platforms from being widely used.  This paper talks about these problems and suggests ways to make them less severe.  Personally tailored health information systems are a huge step forward in telemedicine. They could change the way online medical services are provided, making them more effective, easier to access, and focused on the patient

Semantic Interoperability in Medical Information Science for Enhancing Electronic Health Record System

    Get PDF
Without semantic connectedness in healthcare, it is difficult to improve the speed, quality, or convenience of access to medical knowledge exchange. In Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, semantic interoperability guarantees that, independent of technology, various healthcare systems may effectively communicate, comprehend, and use patient data across platforms. This essay discusses, mostly in terms of how it enhances electronic health record systems, the significance of semantic sharing in medical information science. We examine the issues resulting from various data types, classifications, and standards and provide a solution when attempting to aggregate healthcare data from several sources. Using modern technologies such natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning coupled with standard models like SNOMED CT and ICD-10, semantic interoperability makes it feasible for data to be exchanged readily. The paper also discusses how semantic interoperability helps clinicians make better judgements, lowers errors, and accelerates clinical procedures so enhancing patient care. We also discuss the ongoing efforts towards creating health information systems capable of communicating with one another and providing ideas for next research. This work aims to use semantic interoperability to enable the development and configuration of robust, patient-centered, next-generation EHR systems

Examining Advances Challenges and Patient Outcomes in Immunotherapy for Cancer Treatment

    Get PDF
Immunotherapy has changed the way cancer is treated and given people with many types of cancer new hope. Immunotherapy works very well on some types of tumors, like melanoma, lung cancer, and blood diseases, by using the body\u27s immune system to find and attack cancer cells. This abstract talks about the progress made in immunotherapy, the problems that come up when it is used, and how it affects the results for patients. New developments in immunotherapy include immune checkpoint inhibitors, CAR T-cell treatment, and monoclonal antibodies. These have made a big difference in many patients\u27 chances of surviving and quality of life. These treatments can have long-lasting effects, even on cancer that is very far along, showing that long-term recovery is possible. Clinical studies have increased the conditions that these treatments can treat, which has led to the approval of a number of new drugs and combining tactics that make them work better. Even with these improvements, the area of immunotherapy still has a ways to go. The reaction of patients is very different; some people get big benefits, while others show little or no response. Tumor variety, the tumor microenvironment, and the presence of immune-suppressing processes are some of the things that affect this variation. Additionally, dealing with immune-related side effects is very hard. To reduce toxicity without losing therapy effectiveness, careful tracking and treatment plans are needed. Access to immunotherapy is still a problem because some people can\u27t get these medicines because they are too expensive, not available, or don\u27t meet certain requirements. Inequalities in access to care can lead to unequal results from treatment

Alcohol consumption among university students is a growing public health concern due to its potential impact on academic performance, mental health, and overall well-being. This study aims to analyze alcohol consumption patterns among university students using the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT) and determine if significant differences exist based on gender and academic discipline. A cross-sectional study was conducted among university students. Data was collected through surveys incorporating the AUDIT test. The results were categorized into four levels: low risk (0-7 points), risk consumption (8-15 points), harmful consumption (16-19 points), and dependence (20+ points). Chi-square tests were applied to assess the association between alcohol consumption, gender, and academic discipline. The majority of students fell into the low-risk category, but significant differences were observed based on gender and academic discipline. Engineering students exhibited higher alcohol consumption levels compared to medical students. Chi-square tests confirmed a statistically significant association between gender and alcohol consumption, as well as between academic discipline and alcohol consumption levels. The findings indicate a significant correlation between a student’s field of study and their alcohol consumption levels. Targeted interventions are necessary to reduce risky drinking behaviors among university students

    Get PDF
This research analyzes the incidence of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) in Panama during the years 2021-2023, highlighting its growing impact as a public health problem. Using data from the Health Events Surveillance System (SISVIG), 56 deaths attributed to AMI were identified in the period studied, with a significant concentration of cases in the last months of the year, particularly in October, November and December. This trend suggests possible seasonal influences and acquired behaviors in the population, such as changes in diet and lifestyle during the holidays, which could be contributing to the observed peaks in AMI incidence in the region. The descriptive study also revealed limitations in the coverage and consistency of data reported by hospitals to (SISVIG), which could be underestimating the true magnitude of AMI cases. This deficiency highlights the need to improve epidemiological surveillance and access to quality information to optimize public health intervention and prevention strategies against cardiovascular diseases in Panama

    Get PDF
The study analyzed the importance of formative feedback in the self-regulation of learning by high school students in Ecuador. It was found that, despite the educational reforms that promoted active methodologies, their effective implementation still faced obstacles. Among the main factors that hindered their application were teacher overload, lack of training in feedback strategies, and resistance to methodological change. These elements limited the possibility of students reflecting on their learning and improving their study strategies. From a theoretical perspective, it was shown that self-regulation of learning was key to academic and professional success, as it allowed students to plan, monitor and evaluate their performance. It was evident that structured feedback favoured metacognition and autonomous learning, in contrast to traditional strategies. In the Ecuadorian context, the lack of didactic approaches based on feedback affected the development of critical thinking and student autonomy. Finally, it was concluded that the implementation of formative feedback strategies could improve the quality of education. It was suggested that teacher training and the use of technologies to personalize feedback would be essential to overcome existing barriers. In addition, the need to design educational policies that would facilitate their adoption was highlighted, with the aim of transforming education and preparing students for future academic and professional challenges
