Objective: This study aims to examine the concept of ethics and accounting in the te\u27seng business in Bugis culture in the agricultural sector in Indonesia as a profit-sharing system based on trust between landowners and cultivators.Method: A qualitative ethnographic approach, influenced by Spradley\u27s methodology, was adopted to explore te\u27seng\u27s accounting and ethical practices. The researcher conducted participatory observations and interviews with stakeholders, including practitioners, cultural experts, and community members. The study\u27s focus was on capturing the interplay of cultural values and practices, supported by direct involvement in agricultural and livestock management. Results: The study finds that te’seng, which prioritizes moral and social values, can serve as an alternative model for a more equitable and sustainable economy. With its emphasis on solidarity and sustainability, the te’seng business presents a critique of neoliberal economics, which tends to foster inequality and environmental degradation. Core values of Bugis culture, such as lempu, pacce, reso, and siri, along with acceptance of divine will, constitute the ethical foundation of this business practice. Conclusions: These findings suggest that a culture- and morality-based approach can strengthen stakeholder relationships and promote socio-economic sustainability

Strengthening Gypsum Soils: The Role of Lime and CaCO3 Nanoparticles in Enhancing Suction and Compressive Strength

This study examines the characteristics and stabilization of two types of gypsum soils, known for their high gypsum content, which affects their physical and chemical properties. Gypsum soils pose challenges in construction due to their solubility in water, leading to instability. The research focuses on the interaction of moisture content, gypsum concentration, and soil structure under different climatic conditions. The study evaluates the relationship between soil total suction, measured by the filter paper approach, and unconfined compressive strength in both natural and processed gypsum soils. Stabilization techniques using CaCO3 and lime nanoparticles (NPs) were explored. The connection between compressive strength and total suction was established through the degree of saturation obtained from the soil water characteristic curve and optimal water content. Results showed that for SG50 soil, the maximum compressive strength increased with treatment ratios up to (L3% + N1%), which had the highest strength. Beyond this ratio, slight fluctuations were observed, while total suction continued to decrease. This is likely due to nanoparticle agglomeration at excessive treatment levels, reducing soil cohesion. In SG2% soil, compressive strength showed fluctuations, initially increasing, then decreasing until stabilization, while total suction was consistently reduced. The lower suction values in SG2% soil compared to SG50% are attributed to its lower gypsum content, which reduces chemical reactions with water and the formation of suction-enhancing compounds

ABSTRACT IntroductionPhilosophical intelligence refers to the ability to critically consider fundamental issues related to existence, values, knowledge, and purpose. It involves exploring abstract ideas, ethical dilemmas, and synthesizing different perspectives to form a coherent worldview. This intelligence promotes wisdom, introspection, and the ability to approach life’s challenges with logical discernment. The current study aimed to assess the philosophical intelligence of graduate student teachers in Kerala and examine if gender, location, or socioeconomic status influenced their philosophical intelligence. MethodsThe study employed a quantitative approach, using a survey to assess the philosophical intelligence of graduate student teachers in Kerala. The sample was categorized by gender, location, and socioeconomic status to analyze potential differences. Data were analyzed to determine the overall level of philosophical intelligence among participants and to identify any significant differences across the subgroups. ResultsThe results indicated that the philosophical intelligence of graduate student teachers was average or mediocre. No significant differences in philosophical intelligence were found across the subgroups based on gender, location, or socioeconomic status. ConclusionsThe findings suggest that the current teacher education curriculum should emphasize the practical application of diverse philosophical schools through creative assignments and practicums, rather than focusing solely on rote memorization of theoretical concepts. This approach could foster a deeper understanding and development of philosophical intelligence among student teachers

An Advanced Deep Learning Framework DeepLungNet with Global Average Pooling for Precise Lung Cancer Classification

IntroductionLung cancer remains one of the deadliest diseases worldwide, with survival rates heavily dependent on early and precise detection. However, existing diagnostic methods face challenges in accuracy and efficiency. This research introduces DeepLungNet, an enhanced deep learning framework designed to improve lung cancer classification using Global Average Pooling (GAP). GAP is immensely important in reducing model complexity and overfitting, making it ideal for imaging in healthcare  where datasets  happen to be constrained. By preserving critical spatial information, it enhances model generalization and ensures reliable predictions. MethodsTo develop a robust classification model, chest X-ray images were gathered from varuious origins, ensuring high diversity and quality. The dataset includes five categories: Bacterial Pneumonia, COVID-19, Normal, Tuberculosis, and Viral Pneumonia. DeepLungNet was evaluated against standard CNN architectures, including CNN, ResNet-50, and VGG16. The GAP layer proved instrumental in improving training efficiency, reducing computational overhead, and boosting classification accuracy. This makes it a strong candidate for real-world clinical deployment, particularly in resource-limited settings. ResultsDeepLungNet achieved 100% accuracy, outperforming conventional models: CNN (93.40%), VGG16 (94.25%), and ResNet-50 (95.75%). The model also attained perfect precision, recall, and F1-score, reinforcing its reliability in lung disease detection.ConclusionDeepLungNet demonstrates exceptional performance, making it a viable solution for accurate and efficient lung disease classification. Its 100% accuracy and reduced computational demands make it ideal for clinical applications requiring fast, dependable diagnoses.

Strengthening personal data protection through the creation of a regulatory body

Introduction: The protection of personal data has become a central issue in the digital era, especially in Ecuador, where the Organic Law on the Protection of Personal Data seeks to guarantee the privacy of information. However, the law\u27s implementation process has been the subject of debate due to its perceived inadequacy in ensuring effective protection. Therefore, this research seeks to strengthen the protection of personal data in Ecuador through the creation of a regulatory entity dedicated to applying sanctions in the legal field in Ecuador. Methods: A quantitative approach was used, as well as a digital survey applied to lawyers in the Republic of Ecuador to evaluate their knowledge, perception and experience regarding the regulations. As well as identifying areas for improvement in legislation and its application. Results: The results revealed that, although a large majority of respondents are aware of the LOPDP, only 30% have considered that the law adequately protects their data. Furthermore, 90% supported the creation of a regulatory entity, and 85% considered it necessary to have judges specialized in computer law. Conclusions: It has been concluded that the Organic Law on the Protection of Personal Data presents deficiencies in its application, highlighting the priority of creating a regulatory entity and training judges specialized in the subject. Likewise, the need to improve education and awareness in the protection of personal data was identified to achieve effective implementation
