Nadškof iz Perzije podeli v Celju odpustek šmarnogorskim božjepotnikom: Listina nadškofa Janeza iz Sultanije, spisana v Celju leta 1411

    No full text
On 14 May 1411, in the first year of the pontificate of Pope John XXII, the Dominican missionary and Persian Archbishop Johannes of Soldania drew up a deed in which he stated his desire that pilgrims would regularly visit the church of the Blessed Virgin Mary at Mt. Šmarna gora, for which he also granted them an indulgence. This document presents three interesting questions: why is the year 1411 the first year of the pontificate of John XXII; why is the document written in Celje; and why is the indulgence granted by a Persian archbishop? This article attempts to answer these questions in a way that will place this document in its wider historical and geographical as well as political context.

    No full text
The article deals with the violent demonstrations that took place in Istria in 1894. The demonstrations were organized against the decree of the Ministry of Justice that required all judicial districts with a mixed population of Slovenes, Croats and Italians to place bilingual signs on court houses. In Piran, the demonstrations were so serious that the military had to intervene. With the evident help of the municipal authorities, the Italian population of Istrian municipalities succeeded in their demand that the decree be repealed and the previous state of affairs be restored. The decree on bilingual signs remained in force only for the town of Piran.Članek obravnava dogodke v letu 1894, ko so se v Istri odvijale nasilne demonstracije proti odloku pravosodnega ministrstva, ki je v vseh sodnih okrajih, kjer so živeli skupaj Slovenci, Hrvati in Italijani, na sodišča želelo namestiti dvojezične napise.

The article takes a phenomenological and comparative view of the figure of “Zeleni Jurij” as we know it in some parts of Slovenia and Croatia. Certain parallels to this part of our cultural heritage can be found in the wider European and non-European area, from the Middle East to India. These links are not only typological but often also genetic.Članek obravnava s fenomenološkega in komparativnega vidika lik Zelenega Jurija, kot ga poznamo ponekod v Sloveniji in na Hrvaškem.
