The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Public Sector: Leadership Styles, Corporate Culture, and Corporate Performance
This paper aims to ascertain the leadership styles, corporate culture, and corporate performance of thepublic sector in The United Arab Emirates (UAE). Because this is conceptual research, no qualitative orquantitative technique was used to arrive at the result. To understand the manager’s involvement indeveloping and sustaining a positive culture, one must first identify the manager’s actions and behavioursand then relate them to the positive result in culture, performance, or both. A review of pertinentliterature confirms the study’s intuition. Additionally, the most critical characteristics of corporate cultureseem to be shared corporate values and beliefs, teamwork, collegiate support, admiration for leaders, professional growth, strong leadership, parent and community participation, organisation centricity, andacademic emphasis.
Leadership Practices and Entrepreneurial Performance of Malaysian Small and Medium Size Enterprises
The perception of entrepreneurial choice affects income distribution, not on the capital structure’spercentage. This study aims to ascertain the leadership behaviours and entrepreneurial performance ofMalaysian SMEs. This study used a quantitative research design. The research recommends and impliesthat SME company owners, senior management, shareholders, and entrepreneurial managers have activeengagement in the entrepreneurial decision-making of their particular firms, especially in choosing debtor equity financing choices. The sampling approach is shown, followed by explaining the researchequipment creation process. The sample size was determined to be 210 respondents who satisfied theestablished criteria for contributing meaningful information on corporate financing among MalaysianSMEs. The data indicate that managerial leadership and entrepreneurial performance and instructionalleadership and entrepreneurial performance are positively related. Similarly, transformational leadershipand entrepreneurial performance and servant leadership and entrepreneurial performance have apositive relationship. Finally, a positive relationship between authentic leadership and entrepreneurialperformance has been shown. This study proposes a new research paradigm that includes firmmanagerial leadership, servant leadership and growth, working capital, instructional leadership, andauthentic leadership as predictors of entrepreneurial performance.
Potential of Photonic Effects of Ion-Spec Medical Design in Controlling symptomatic characteristics in people with headache, high blood pressure and intraocular pressure
IONSPEC –A nanobiophotonic medical design incorporated negative ions and far infrared rays (FIR) was developed in helping patients in reducing their bifrontal discomforts, visual discomforts, and headaches. Both aerobic and not aerobic conditions help eye pressure at a healthier level, and their vision discomforts relief after wearing IONSPEC correction. The results suggest that materials emitting FIR, which are widely used in Asia for therapeutic and preventative purposes, appear capable of reducing bifrontal pains due to visual discomfort, and a headache without side effects. This study will hopefully enlighten professionals on spreading awareness regarding health hazards of computers and IONSPEC nanobiophotonic medical design has a potential to reduce eye pains, headaches, and othe visual symptomatic in many eye conditions
Changes of Refractive Errors Among Educators as Impact of Online Teaching during Covid-19 in Shah Alam
The online learning process during the Covid-19 has impacted the educator’s refractive error and visual functioning. This study aimed to determine the significance of refractive error changes among educators as impact of online teaching before and after Covid-19 in Shah Alam. A quantitative study design was done by administrating a purposive sampling technique that was applied to 24 educators aged between 30 – 50 years old, representing non-presbyope, pre-presbyope, and presbyope population. The data collection was done by performing the refractive assessments including retinoscopy, visual acuity using the Snellen chart at distance, Snellen near chart and subjective refraction. A total of 24 educators (16 females and 8 males) were enrolled in this study; out of which 19 (79.2%) were having myopia, 1 (4.2%) having hyperopia, 4 (16.7%) were emmetropic and 18 (75%) were found to have astigmatism. The significance of refractive error of emmetropic shift (-0.50 to +0.50D) was about 6(25%), myopic (>-0.50D) was high 17 (70.83%) and the hyperopic shift of (> +0.50D) were low about 1 (4.17%) after the Covid-19. Pre-presbyope and presbyope educators developed CVS symptoms, dry eyes, eye strain, blurry vision, and headache was reported by 66.6%, 58%, 50% and 45% of this study population. In conclusion, there is a negative effect on the educator’s vision due to myopic changes happening among non-presbyope, pre-presbyope, and presbyope. This should prompt the educational authorities to improve knowledge and awareness to prevent CVS symptoms among lecturers during online learning

The Effects of Organisational Leadership and Interpretive Paradigm on Coping Strategies in Malaysian Manufacturing Sector
The purpose of this study is to determine the effects of organisational leadership and interpretiveparadigm on coping strategies in Malaysian manufacturing sectorin a real-world situation. The currentstudy included employees at the level of General Managers and Deputies who are in positions with a clearchain of decision-making authority. By using a random sampling technique131 manufacturingorganisations were surveyed which are situated in Kuala Lumpur. Out of 155 surveyed companies 131returned their forms, and these forms were utilised for data entry and analysis by employing structuralequation model (SEM). This study focuses on critical elements determining leaders’ effectiveness and onaspects affecting workers’ inventiveness and negligence in their organisations. Additionally, recommendations were made in response to these issues. As a consequence, leaders acquire knowledge, which benefits the organisation by increasing their leadership and cross-cultural public relations skills, aswell as their ability to maintain authority and social responsibility
Amplitude of Accommodation in Malay, Chinese, and Indian Population in Malaysia
AbstractThe objective of this study was to compare the mean Amplitude of Accommodation (AA), the expected Amplitude of Accommodation (Hofstetter, 1950) and to determine if there is a racial preponderance. 138 subjects between the age of 20 and 39 years were grouped into two age groups: 20-29 age group and 30-39 age. AA was measured using a RAF near point rule. Three push-up (PU) and three push-down (PD) amplitudes were measured and recorded. The mean AA was calculated and compared with the expected AA, as predicted by Hofstetter’s equation. The expected AA (Hofstetter, 1950) for the age group (20-29) was 11.15D ± 0.91D, while for the age group (30-39) was 8.15D ± 0.91D. The mean AA in (20-29) age group was 10.17D ± 1.64D (Malay), 10.15D ± 0.90D (Chinese), and 10.25D ± 1.88D (Indian). For age group (30-39), the AA were 6.73D ± 1.21 D (Malay), 6.53D ± 1.72D (Chinese), and 7.61D ± 1.54D (Indian). There was no significant difference in AA between three races in age group of 20-29 and 30-39, except only significant difference in AA was noted among Chinese and Indian in age group (30-39). Our study proved that; the mean AA is lower than the expected AA (Hofstetter, 1950).
Evaluation of Subjective Satisfaction with Orthokeratology: A Pilot Study
Background: This study evaluates subjective satisfaction levels among Singapore-based OK lens wearers and investigates what motivated them to go for OK.
Methods: A customised survey form was administered. Participants’ perceptions were assessed along the dimensions of vision, facial appearance, satisfaction, activity, and symptoms. The participants also had to indicate what motivated them to go for OK. The remaining questions focussed on the participants’ demographics and OK related routines since the survey was designed to be a stand-alone questionnaire that is suitable for a specialised optometry setting.
Results: OK participants (n=100) demonstrated an overall positive experience across vision, facial appearance, satisfaction, and activity dimensions. Most participants either did not experience or only occasionally experienced the surveyed symptoms. Seeing clear throughout the day (71%), myopia control (70%), and convenience for school/occupation (65%) and sports (59%) were the most popular reasons why participants were on OK. Better appearance (36%), and discomfort with spectacles (34%) and contact lenses (11%) were the other motivating factors.
Conclusion: Orthokeratology is associated with high levels of satisfaction rate. Seeing clear throughout the day, myopia control and convenience for day-to-day activities are the key reasons why participants are on OK treatment. Optometrists, while ensuring rigorous compliance to lens care regimen and good adherence to routine follow-ups, may positively recommend orthokeratology not just for children for the purpose of myopia control but to potentially anyone, who wants to be free of day-time myopic refractive correction
Curcumin in Turmeric as Treatment for Eye Inflammation
AbstractThe research wants to find out if curcumin in turmeric is effective in treating inflammations of the eye. The research also aims to determine if curcumin is an irritant. To answer these questions, curcumin was extracted and eyedrops were made to be tested on animal models of eye inflammation. Results show that signs of inflammation was alleviated with the use of the eyedrops made from curcumin. The study also found out that curcumin is practically non-irritative. The study shows the potential use of curcumin as an ophthalmic drop, capable of eliminating eye inflammations
