    Effects of stress on oral health

    This project was developed using a qualitative approach, which is characterized by the collection and analysis of non-numerical data, aimed at understanding concepts, opinions and experiences related to the influence of stress on oral health. To do so, tools such as web pages, scientific journals and articles by recognized professionals were used, ensuring that all the information collected was scientifically and provenly supported. The data obtained were organized in a table, which facilitated the analysis and allowed the identification of the main conditions that affect the oral cavity. Stress has been shown to have a significant negative impact on oral health, contributing to the appearance of diseases such as bruxism, dental caries and periodontal diseases, which are aggravated by the decrease in oral hygiene. In addition, the research highlights the limited awareness of the population about this problem, which underlines the need to implement educational and preventive strategies to reduce the impact of stress on oral health. Various practical recommendations are proposed to improve oral hygiene and adequately manage stress levels, with the aim of promoting a better quality of life and preventing associated oral diseases. This research seeks not only to contribute to scientific knowledge, but also to raise awareness and provide effective tools to address this problem

    Review of techniques for pneumatic maxillary sinus lift in dental implant placement

    The purpose of this article was to comprehensively analyze the techniques used for maxillary sinus elevation, considering the degree of pneumatization observed in dental care procedures. The methodology adopted included a systematic review of recent scientific literature, covering a total of 12 articles published between 2019 and 2024. The databases consulted were PubMed, ResearchGate and Scopus, ensuring the selection of relevant and high scientific quality studies. Among the identified techniques, lateral windows and osteotome-assisted transcrestal techniques stand out, both applied with or without bone graft placement, depending on the anatomical characteristics of the patient. Likewise, alternative techniques were described, such as drilling and hydraulic pressure, piezoelectric surgery and the use of membrane balloon devices for maxillary sinus lifting, which present specific advantages in certain clinical scenarios. The results underline the importance of personalizing the choice of surgical technique based on the particularities of each case, highlighting the need for a thorough evaluation using computed tomography. Factors such as the remaining alveolar ridge, the degree of pneumatization and the anatomical conditions of the maxillary sinus play a crucial role in treatment planning. In conclusion, the success of maxillary sinus lift procedures lies in the appropriate selection of the surgical technique, based on an accurate diagnosis and the clinical experience of the professional, which contributes to improving the functional and aesthetic results in the placement of dental implants

    Educational Strategies for Addressing Student Anxiety and Depression through Artificial Intelligence: A Bibliometric and Conceptual Analysis

    Introduction: La tecnología de inteligencia artificial (IA) ha transformado la educación, impactando positivamente diversas tareas académicas, incluidas las experiencias de aprendizaje y el apoyo a la salud mental del estudiantado. Sin embargo, factores relacionados con los usuarios, en particular los estudiantes y educadores, han influido en la implementación exitosa de la tecnología de IA. Diversos estudios han reportado impactos negativos, tales como ansiedad y depresión, durante el aprendizaje en línea, los cuales requieren una mayor investigación.Method: Este estudio tuvo como objetivo identificar tendencias, patrones de agrupación y análisis temáticos con respecto al impacto de la tecnología de IA y el papel del profesorado en la mitigación de los riesgos de ansiedad y depresión. Se empleó un enfoque de revisión sistemática de la literatura (RSL) utilizando el protocolo PRISMA para realizar una exploración en profundidad. Se recuperaron un total de 33 artículos de la base de datos Scopus entre 2017 y 2024 utilizando las palabras clave "inteligencia artificial", "IA", "ansiedad" y "depresión". Los datos fueron analizados mediante VosViewer, Biblioshiny y análisis temático.Results: The main findings indicated that AI technology posed several disadvantages when implemented without proper preparedness and control. These included reduced social interaction, technological complexity, dependency, and loss of autonomy, biased feedback, and the misuse of information—all of which reinforced students\u27 anxiety and depression. Proposed strategies involved early detection of stress indicators, the creation of inclusive and pressure-free learning environments, the integration of mental health awareness into curricula, access to information and counseling services, fostering positive and open relationships, balanced use of AI technologies, fair empathy and concern, and professional development for educators.Conclusions: This study provides a theoretical framework and practical strategies for educators and policymakers to promote balanced or hybrid uses of AI technology. Future research should ensure that AI is utilized appropriately, particularly in reducing the risks of emotional disturbances and mental health issues.

    Relationship between quality of life and optimism in cancer patients from Chillán-Chile

    Introduction: Cancer can profoundly impact the quality of life of those who suffer from it, influencing their environment and altering their perception, structure, goals, and life purpose. The way individuals cope with the disease largely depends on their level of dispositional optimism.Methods: A correlational quantitative study was conducted using the EORTC QLQ-C30 and LOT-R questionnaires, applied to 66 oncology patients who met the inclusion criteria. Statistical analysis was performed using Jamovi®. To explore associations between qualitative variables, the Chi-square test was used; for quantitative variables, Pearson’s correlation coefficient was applied; and to examine the relationship between independent qualitative variables and dependent quantitative variables, the Kruskal-Wallis test was employed.Results: A total of 66.7% of participants reported low overall health, and 51.5% presented with high symptom burden. A low positive correlation was found between dispositional optimism (LOT-R) and global health status (p = 0.006; Rho = 0.333). Significant associations were also identified between functionality and symptom items from the EORTC and various LOT-R items, particularly regarding pain, insomnia, irritability, and perceived health variation in relation to optimism levels. Additionally, a significant association was found between the total LOT-R score and EORTC questions 12, 28, and 29 (p < 0.05).Conclusions: The results indicated that a high level of dispositional optimism is associated with better quality of life, whereas low optimism is linked to reduced quality of life

    Global Research Trends on Productive Struggle Students in Primary Scholl: Bibliometric Analysis (2016-2025) using VOSviewer

    This study focusses on trends in existing research and creates a bibliometric map of articles discussing the productive struggle of elementary school students using the VOSviewer application from a psychological perspective. It also examines the influence of productive struggle on the quality of elementary school students\u27 mathematics learning. Data collection was conducted using reference management software, specifically Publish or Perish, to facilitate a literature review focused on the topic of productive struggle. This approach provides insights into the scope and depth of existing studies, highlighting patterns and gaps for further investigation. The keywords "elementary school students" and "productive struggle" were used throughout the data collection process. For the analysis, 175 articles published between 2016 and 2025 were selected. The results show that research on productive struggle has become a global trend from 2016 to 2018. However, from 2019 there was a decline, this trend increased again from 2020 to 2022. However, in 2023 there was a drastic decline to only 11 publications. The peak of research on productive struggle occurred in 2024 with 30 publications, and then it declined again in 2025 with only 7 publications. Based on the results of the bibliometric analysis, the term productive struggle has 143 links. It can be concluded that research publications on productive struggle are still limited to research and have great potential for further studies on students\u27 productive struggle from a psychological perspective in the future, especially on emotional intelligence, motivation, learning, and anxiety in mathematics learning

    Evaluating Holland’s Career Theory to Enhance Career Decision-Making in Beauty Vocational Education Students

    The beauty industry’s diversity presents both opportunities and challenges for vocational students in making informed career choices. This study evaluates the effectiveness of Holland’s Career Theory in improving career decision-making among Beauty Studies students at SMK Negeri 3 Payakumbuh. Utilizing a quantitative, true-experimental posttest-only control design, 67 students were randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. The experimental group received personalized career counseling using the RIASEC model, while the control group followed standard guidance. A career decision-making questionnaire, validated for the Indonesian vocational context through expert review, pilot testing, and reliability analysis (Cronbach’s α = 0.82), was used to measure post-intervention outcomes. Findings show that the experimental group scored significantly higher on the post-test (M = 89.45) compared to the control group (M = 77.82), with a high effect size (d = 0.77), confirming the intervention’s practical significance. These results underscore the value of aligning personality traits with career environments to facilitate more confident and informed career decisions. The study recommends adapting Holland’s theory across other vocational fields to test its versatility and suggests longitudinal research to evaluate the sustained effects on career satisfaction. Furthermore, by addressing societal stereotypes and offering a structured, theory-driven approach to career counseling, this research contributes to elevating vocational education as a pathway to meaningful and fulfilling careers, particularly in fields traditionally undervalued. Integrating Holland’s model into career counseling curricula can support students\u27 long-term career development and improve their transition into the workforce

    Analysis of habits of mind through online learning in prospective biology teacher

    The paradigma shift from face-to-face learning to online learning post-COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on students\u27 learning behaviors, especially their thinking habits. This study aims to analyze the formation of mind habits among prospective biology teachers after four years of involvement in online learning. A total of 301 biology education students (49 males, 252 females) from a university in West Java, Indonesia, participated in this descriptive quantitative study. Data were collected using a validated mind habits questionnaire consisting of 21 items based on 16 indicators and analyzed using percentage categorization. The findings revealed that 60% of students exhibited very strong habits of mind, and 38% had strong levels, indicating a generally high adaptation to an online learning environment. The highest score indicators include responding with amazement and awe, metacognition, empathy, and openness to continuous learning. On the contrary, the lowest are creativity, imagination, and innovation. No significant differences were found between the sexes or across the academic year. In conclusion, online learning contributes positively to the development of mind habits in prospective biology teachers. It is recommended that higher education institutions continue to design online and hybrid learning that supports reflective and adaptive thinking, while incorporating more creative and innovative components to enhance students\u27 holistic development

    Transforming critical and creative thinking: the impact of generative artificial intelligence on higher education

    Generative artificial intelligence (GAI) has revolutionized university teaching by offering tools that promote the development of critical and creative thinking in students. This study analyzed its impact on higher education through a literature review and a quantitative analysis based on surveys applied to teachers and students in Latin America. A mixed methodological design was used, combining the analysis of academic literature with data collected from structured surveys. The results showed that GAI facilitated the personalization of learning, improved formative feedback, and promoted student autonomy in knowledge construction. However, challenges are also identified, such as the variable quality of the generated content, technological dependence, and ethical implications in academic assessment. A differentiated perception will be observed according to the role of the respondents: students highlighted the usefulness of AGI in problem solving and idea generation, while teachers expressed concerns about its impact on originality and the development of analytical skills. It was concluded that the integration of AGI in higher education required pedagogical strategies that would enhance its benefits and minimize its risks. Furthermore, the importance of specific teacher training for effective implementation was highlighted. Longitudinal studies were recommended to assess the long-term impact and evolution of the educational community

    An Analysis of The Effectiveness of Digital Authentic Assessment Integrated With Virtual Reality in Electrical Power Distribution Courses

    Vocational education plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of Human Resources (HR). However, based on a needs analysis, 82 % of students reported not understanding what had been taught, indicating a gap between classroom learning and the assessment process. This study used a development method with a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative data, following the Borg and Gall model through six stages: research and information collecting, planning, developing a preliminary product, preliminary field testing, main product revision, and main field testing. The resulting product, a Digital Authentic Assessment assisted by Virtual Reality (VR), was validated as "Valid" by experts and rated as "Very Practical" by both lecturers and students. To measure effectiveness, a t-test was conducted comparing the learning outcomes of experimental and control classes, with results showing a significant improvement in the experimental group. The study concludes that the Digital Authentic Assessment with VR is valid, practical, and effective for the Electric Power Distribution course in vocational education

    The Contribution of Education to the Correction of Preanalytical Errors in Laboratory Testing: A Systematic Review

    Introduction: laboratory medicine generates clinical information by analyzing various analytes in body fluids. This process requires trained personnel capable of developing strategies to prevent errors that could compromise patient safety. Recent studies highlight the importance of training and the implementation of protocols to reduce these errors.Objective: to identify available evidence on the contribution of education to correcting preanalytical errors in clinical laboratory testing.Method: a systematic review was conducted using Google Scholar and PubMed, including articles in English, Spanish, and Portuguese published between 2020 and 2024. Only peer-reviewed journal articles were considered.Results: three main thematic categories were identified: Impact of Training in Laboratory Settings, Educational Interventions on Preanalytical Errors, and Methodologies to Reduce Preanalytical Errors Linked to Education.Conclusion: Reducing preanalytical errors in the laboratory depends on continuous training and protocol adherence. Initial and ongoing education is key to improving sample quality and patient safety.
