    The prophylactic role of metformin in obese pregnant woman

    Introduction: Obesity in pregnancy is linked to complications such as gestational diabetes, pre-eclampsia, and preterm labor. This study aimed to evaluate the prophylactic effect of metformin in reducing these complications in obese pregnant women.Method: An interventional controlled trial was conducted at Bint-Alhuda Teaching Hospital in Iraq, involving 120 obese pregnant women (gestational age 14-16 weeks). Participants were randomly divided into two groups: one treated with metformin and the other not. Both groups were monitored monthly until delivery for outcomes including gestational diabetes, pre-eclampsia, preterm labor, congenital anomalies, mode of delivery, and postpartum hemorrhage. Statistical analysis was conducted using chi-square tests.Results: Although the metformin group showed reductions in preterm births, gestational diabetes, and gestational hypertension, these differences were not statistically significant (p > 0.05). However, a significant correlation was found between congenital anomalies and postpartum hemorrhage (p = 0.001).Conclusion: While metformin appeared to reduce certain pregnancy complications, the results were not statistically significant. Further research with larger sample sizes and varied dosing regimens is needed. Additionally, the significant link between congenital anomalies and postpartum hemorrhage warrants further exploratio

    Sentinel lymph node biopsy has revolutionized breast cancer treatment by offering a less invasive alternative to complete lymphadenectomy. This technique identifies the first lymph node that drains the tumor, minimizing morbidity by avoiding unnecessary removal of nodes. The introduction of neoadjuvant chemotherapy has added complexity but also improved the accuracy of sentinel lymph node biopsy. Technological innovations, such as advanced imaging techniques and molecular markers, have optimized the identification and evaluation of the sentinel lymph node. Recent studies show that sentinel lymph node biopsy is comparable to complete lymphadenectomy in terms of survival and recurrence, with additional benefits in patient quality of life.     Structuring Innovation Activities in Moroccan Public Universities: Proposal of a Procedures Manual

    In a context marked by the growing need for innovation and knowledge transfer within Moroccan universities, this article presents the development of a procedure manual aimed at guiding and optimizing the functioning of university innovation structures. The primary objective is to support the development of scientific research and innovation within these institutions, in alignment with "PACTE ESRI 2030," a national plan designed to transform the ecosystem of higher education and scientific research in Morocco. The procedures manual developed is the result of an empirical approach based on the practical experience of active participants within various segments of the innovation structures at the studied universities and the outcomes of questionnaires completed by key stakeholders involved in technological monitoring, invention disclosure, the maturation process, and technology transfer. This approach enabled the capitalization of the lived experiences and acquired knowledge of these actors, leading to the creation of a procedural guide that is both pragmatic and tailored to the specific realities of university innovation ecosystems. The aim is to optimize current practices and encourage more efficient and harmonized management of research and technological development activities. This contribution seeks to standardize key processes such as technological monitoring, invention disclosure, maturation procedures, and the stages of technology transfer. The main objective of this manual is to provide a structured and coherent framework for managing innovation activities, promoting modern governance, and ensuring transparent and effective resource management.

    Relationship between motivation and satisfaction with the commitment of university teachers in the mathematics education program: contributions to the climate from the management of organizational health

    Introduction: The study highlighted the relevance of the relationship between organizational climate management and the mental health of collaborators, as well as its connection to the success of educational organizations. Objective: The research aimed to relate the psychological variables of organizational climate among teachers in a mathematics education program at a Chilean university. Method: A quantitative approach and a non-experimental, cross-sectional design were used. The sample consisted of 27 teachers, equivalent to 85% of the total faculty in the program. Data collection was conducted through a validated Likert-type survey, and Cronbach\u27s Alpha coefficient was used to measure reliability, obtaining a value of 0.894, indicating high reliability. Results: The results showed a positive and significant correlation between the variables studied, with the exception of commitment and management. Thus, motivation, satisfaction, and commitment predict the organizational climate. The multiple linear regression analysis suggested that these variables directly influence teachers\u27 perception of the organizational climate and their commitment. Conclusions: In conclusion, the study emphasizes the importance of commitment management in promoting a positive climate in educational institutions, which is crucial for teachers\u27 psycho-emotional stability and the achievement of educational goals. Recent developments in deep learning have been of great use to the healthcare industry, notably diagnostic imaging technology, which is used to diagnose a wide variety of illnesses. There is a good chance that task CNN is the deep learning model that is applied the most frequently and extensively for image recognition. In a similar manner, images obtained from brain MRI scanning are classified by our research team through the utilization of CNN, data augmentation, and image processing approaches. Through the use of CNN, we tested the performance of the scratch CNN model. Despite the fact that the analysis was conducted on a relatively small dataset, the findings reveal that our model\u27s accuracy is quite successful and has incredibly low complexity rates.     Greening Organizational Culture in Relation to Employees\u27 Green Human Resources Management; The Mediating Role of Environmental Commitment and Citizenship

    Background: The growing awareness of environmental issues is prompting organizations to proactively implement environmental management strategies. Green human resource management (GHRM) practices are being used to convert strategy into results.Methodology: Employing a quantitative approach, data were gathered from 271 faculty members through structured questionnaires. The analysis involved descriptive statistics using SPSS and SEM using AMOS to understand the relationships among green culture, environmental commitment, environmental citizenship, and GHRMP along with the mediating role of faculty\u27 commitment and environmental citizenship.Results: The study revealed that green organizational culture is significantly associated with both employees\u27 environmental commitment and citizenship. Specifically, green culture had a strong positive correlation with environmental commitment and environmental citizenship. Moreover, environmental commitment and citizenship were significantly correlated with GHRMP, indicating the pivotal role of green culture in fostering a supportive environment for green HR practices. The mediation analysis highlighted the significant indirect effects of green culture on GHRMP through environmental commitment and environmental citizenship. Conclusion: The study underscores the significant influence of green organizational culture on fostering environmental commitment and citizenship among employees. The mediating role of GHRMP is pivotal in translating this culture into practical and measurable outcomes. These findings suggest that institutions aiming to enhance their environmental stewardship, and sustainable practices should focus on nurturing a green culture and implementing robust green HRM practices.Implications: The results provide valuable insights for university administrators and policymakers on the importance of integrating green principles into organizational culture and human resource management. By doing so, they can significantly improve the commitment and active participation of staff in environmental sustainability initiatives

    Social network analysis using open-source software: the most used terms in Spanish during the Covid-19 pandemic

    Introduction: communication on social media is a reflection of the behavioral patterns of a society, allowing us to understand its community structure. The objective of this research was to identify the most used terms on social media during the COVID-19 pandemic in five Spanish-speaking countries to identify their social patterns.Method: a descriptive and quantitative approach was used, using web scraping techniques to collect 31 353 Facebook comments between July 2017 and July 2022. Through Data Wrangling and Text Mining methods, the data was processed by removing irrelevant words and applying lexical analysis using the POS Tagging technique. Five countries were selected: Spain, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, and Chile, to compare term frequencies.Results: the results revealed that the most recurrent terms were "bono", "delivery" and "distancing" in Peru, while "cuarentena", "bono" and "teletrabajo" dominated in Chile. The term “bono” was observed to be especially relevant in Peru and Chile, while the anglicism “delivery” was concentrated in Peru. In addition, a significant variation was noted in the use of terms before and after the pandemic.Conclusions: the analysis of terms on social media during the pandemic reveals significant patterns in social communication. Terms such as “quarantine” and “teleworking” not only emerged during confinement, but their use persisted, indicating a cultural change. This study demonstrates that social media is a valuable tool to understand community dynamics and the social impact of global events such as the pandemic

    Introduction: Recently, the CRES+5 meeting was held as a follow-up to the Regional Conference on Higher Education for Latin America and the Caribbean, addressing the most significant challenges faced by Higher Education Institutions in contributing to sustainable development. These challenges particularly impact medical education, aligning with the demands of University 4.0 to guide the training of physicians amidst current demands and the severe health problems in the Latin American region. Objective: To analyze the most important challenges of medical education in Latin America, derived from CRES+5 and University 4.0, to contribute to the responsible fulfillment of its social mission. Methods: The study relied on document analysis and theoretical methods such as analysis-synthesis, induction-deduction, and systemic approaches to systematize the theoretical-conceptual references of the study subject. This was based on a review of specialized literature and the professional experience of the participating authors. Results and Discussion: Medical education must prioritize teacher preparation, a relevant curriculum, and a focus on science and innovation as essential pillars to ensure quality. These efforts should align with the principles of University 4.0 and Education 4.0, which promote strategies to train competent physicians capable of responsibly fulfilling their social mission

    Mastitis on YouTube: analysis of Medical Information, Credibility, and Discursive Perspectives

    Introduction: mastitis, a breastfeeding-related inflammatory condition, presents significant health challenges. YouTube is a popular platform for health information, but its content quality and credibility are inconsistent.Methods: a qualitative content analysis was conducted on 51 YouTube videos about mastitis, selected by relevance, user engagement, and views. The analysis evaluated medical information, credibility, and discursive strategies, using predefined criteria such as technical language, source reliability, and narrative coherence.Results: of the 51 videos analyzed, 98% addressed symptoms (e.g., pain and inflammation), 94 % included definitions, and 82 % discussed causes. Treatment strategies were present in 78%, while only 63 % mentioned preventive measures. Emotional and sociocultural dimensions were overlooked in 86% of videos. Institutional channels achieved higher credibility scores, averaging 3.8/5, while independent creators averaged 2,4/5. Educational and narrative-personal tones dominated, appearing in 39 % and 45 % of videos, respectively. However, 27% contained commercial elements, potentially undermining credibility.Conclusions: youTube shows potential for health education about mastitis but requires stricter content quality standards. Enhancing emotional and sociocultural content through collaboration between health organizations and digital creators could improve the reliability and impact of information shared

    Application of traditional Chinese auspicious patterns in computer graphic design teaching

    Background: Computer graphicdesigners utilize technology to adapt and blend text, images, color, font, and music to produce emotions and suggest messages to viewers. It makes concepts easier to visualize, supports creative design processes, improves user interfaces, and helps to investigate simulations.Objective: This study aims to develop an innovative computer graphic design teaching model using traditional Chinese auspicious patterns. Traditional Chinese auspicious patterns are imbued with cultural consequence and symbolism that offer students deeper consideration of visual aesthetics and cultural heritage in computer graphic design. Methods: In this study, a novel horse herd optimized poly-kernel support vector machine (HHO-PSVM) is proposed to forecast student performance in computer graphic design teaching. Student data is collected and analyzed by monitoring and assessing their commitment with computer graphic design teaching activities. The data was preprocessed by normalization. Then features are extracted from independent component analysis (ICA) from preprocessed data. Results: The findings of this study demonstrate that Chinese auspicious patterns in computer graphic design teaching improve students\u27 understanding of cultural aesthetics and enhance creativity and engagement. A comparison of metrics\u27 numerical results pre and post pattern was implemented.
