    Get PDF
The tourism industry is one of the largest industries in the world. In the increasingly competitive domestic tourism market, the emergence of various new tourism destinations with infrastructure and beauty gains a competitive advantage through repeated visits. As established, Melaka is recognized as the Historic State and has been declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage City (World Heritage). This is due to the strategic position along the Strait of Malacca that had made Melaka an important trading empire around the years 1300 to 1500. However, there were reports that recorded the decreasing number of tourists to Melaka during the first quarter of 2019 due to negligible branding, causing tourists especially domestic tourists, to switch to other states such as Penang and Sarawak. Thus, this study was conducted to identify the perceptions of domestic tourists to Melaka through factors such as destination, food, and infrastructure facilities. The research sample was consisted of 300 domestic tourists visiting Melaka. Data collection was done through a questionnaire form and distributed to domestic tourists visiting the state of Melaka. The data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 25.0 with the mean scores and independent t-test.  The findings of the t-test in this study are consistent with the finding made by the domestic tourists of Melaka, which indicated that there is no difference between male and female factors that attract domestic tourists. The studies revealed that gender does not bring change to the factors that attract domestic tourists. The results of this study can be utilized in facilitating the tourism industry, especially in Melaka, to grow more rapidly. Indeed, it is the responsibility of all of us as citizens not to overlook the tourism sector and to contribute to the process of running the tourist sector in our country. Get PDF
Academic research has ignored the needs of breast cancer patients for fit in garment selection, in contrast to disability individuals. This type of consumer, it is suggested, warrants special attention in study. After treatment, the majority of breast cancer patients experience a variety of changes, including physical alterations, psychological concerns, and social concerns. These alterations result in stigma or a poor image. This report presents the findings of an exploratory study that aimed to learn more about breast cancer patients\u27 preferences for garment fit. During the interview, ten informants\u27 spontaneous speech was audio/visually recorded, and sketches were used as an artefact probe. Inductive thematic analysis was used to examine the data, and three significant themes emerged: loose cutting, true size, and flexibility. These breast cancer women had a love-hate connection with clothing fit and sizing, particularly ready-made apparel, and used well-fitting garments to boost self-confidence, hide defects, and appear as normal as possible. Ideas for future study directions in these areas are discussed.  &nbsp

    Get PDF
Water plays an important role in everyday life. Water is vital to our health, communities and economy. Rapid industrial development and population growth contribute to water pollution The purpose of this research is to study the impact of aquatic plants in purifying the river and lake water. The aquatic plant used is duckweed which is easily found in the irrigation system in Malaysia. The importance of this study is to find an environmentally friendly method in purifying water. The study was conducted in two stages; the first stage was breeding the duckweed on the surface of water samples. The test was conducted in a laboratory and the water samples are in a stagnant condition. The second stage was conducting the laboratory test on water quality. Test parameters are Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), color and turbidity. The BOD result is improved to 3 mg/l and from Class IV to Class II. The biological activity of the biofilm from algae and bacteria that stick to the plant stems and roots has improved the BOD. After treatment, the COD result is improved to 11.75 mg/l but still in the same Class which is in Class IIA. COD is higher than the BOD because more elements can be biologically oxidized than chemically oxidized. Although no significant change for color and turbidity of water after the treatment process. As a conclusion duckweed can improve the physical properties of water and has a high potential in improving the water quality naturally. The limitation of this study is the duckweed is done in the laboratory where the water is in a stagnant condition. These as a result show that duckweed can improve the water quality for lakes or ponds

    Get PDF
Soil stabilization is the process by which a soil physical property is transformed to improve the geotechnical properties of the soil as well as the strength of the soil especially for the construction of subgrade for soft clay. The nature of soil strength is dependent on the characteristics of shear strength, bearing capacity as well as capacity in the strengthening process. Therefore, this study was conducted for the effect of soft clay, bearing capacity on cement-lime stabilization by performing a California Bearing Capacity (CBR) test with curing periods of 4 days, 7 days, 21 days, and 28 days. The study was conducted with a mixing ratio of 3% cement and 4% lime with an addition of 4% cement-lime according to the weight of the soil sample. The test was carried out by laboratory tests and mathematical descriptive. As a result, the CBR value increased by 1.5 to 3.90 to 7 days of curing and increased by 16.82 from the CBR value of 3.0 to 28 days of curing period at a 4% cement-lime mixture ratio. This increase gives a difference of up to 460% of the control sample. Thus, the cement-lime stabilization against soft clay achieves a significant increase in soil bearing capacity
