A NOVEL ANALYTICAL METHOD FOR TIME FRACTIONAL CONVECTION-DIFFUSION EQUATION THROUGH CLIQUE POLYNOMIALS OF THE COCKTAIL PARTY GRAPH
This paper is devoted to providing a new approach to solve time fractional convection-diffusion equation (TFCDE) by utilizing Clique polynomials of the Cocktail party graph and collocation points. The main advantage of this method is converting the TFCDE into a system of ordinary fractional differential and algebraic equations. At this stage, Residual power series method (RPSM) is used to determine the unknown functions of the obtained system. Convergence analysis is given to substantiate the importance of the suggested method. Two numerical examples are presented to illustrate the implementation and effectiveness of the proposed method
Experiences of Turkish nurses volunteering in the disaster zone following the 2023 Türkiye–Syria earthquake
Aim: The study aimed to determine the experiences of Turkish nurses who volunteered in the disaster zone following the 2023 Türkiye–Syria earthquake. Background: The earthquake devastated 11 cities in Türkiye, which required a comprehensive humanitarian response. Despite the crucial role of nurses in crisis management, limited research exists on their experiences in earthquake zones. Introduction: Nurses experience difficulties in disaster areas, such as physical conditions, lack of disaster plans, and inadequate disaster training before being deployed to earthquake areas. Methods: This study used a qualitative research model and case study design. Data were collected through in-depth qualitative interviews. Nine participants who had worked in earthquake zones for at least 5 days were included in the study. The discussions were recorded, transcribed verbatim, and analyzed thematically. The purposive sampling method was used, and the Consolidated Criteria for Reporting Qualitative Research guidelines were followed. Results: As a result, 4 themes, namely physical conditions, psychosocial conditions, professional conditions, and organization, and their 14 subthemes were determined. This study revealed that nurses encountered difficulties related to physical conditions in earthquake zones. Moreover, the emotional burden expressed by the nurses highlighted the profound psychological impact of disaster response. Conclusion: This study determines that disaster preparedness and support for nurses should be enhanced to improve the arrangement of health services in future calamities. Implications for nursing policy: The results of this study can be used by nurse managers and healthcare policymakers to create nursing training programs that focus on disaster-related competencies
Tensile performance of carbon fibre-reinforced 3D-printed polymers: Effect of printing parameters
The mechanical performance of fibre-reinforced 3D-printed composites is highly dependent on slicing and processing parameters, yet a systematic understanding of these effects remains limited. This study aims to systematically evaluate the influence of infill pattern, infill density, bed orientation, and layer thickness on the tensile properties of short carbon fibre-reinforced Nylon (Onyx) and unreinforced Nylon fabricated using Markforged 3D printers. Tensile testing was conducted to assess tensile modulus, ultimate tensile strength, elongation at break, and Poisson’s ratio across varying slicing parameters. Various raster angles (0°, 90°, 45° and −45° relative to the x-axis), three infill patterns (rectangular, triangular, hexagonal), and multiple densities (17 %–92 %) were examined to assess their influence on mechanical behaviour. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and fibre volume fraction ignition testing were used to quantify void content and fibre distribution in Onyx composites. Furthermore, the Rule of Mixtures (ROM) was applied and demonstrated strong agreement with experimental results, providing a predictive framework for tensile performance across different infill densities. The findings of this study contribute to the optimisation of fibre-reinforced additive manufacturing by identifying key parameters that enhance mechanical properties, supporting structural applications in aerospace, automotive, and lightweight engineering systems.The mechanical performance of fibre-reinforced 3D-printed composites is highly dependent on slicing and processing parameters, yet a systematic understanding of these effects remains limited. Dworkin’in Hukuk Kuramının Gadamerci Kökenleri: Bir Anayasa Mahkemesi Kararının Hermenötik Eleştirisi
Makale, Ronald Dworkin’in hukuk kuramını Hans Georg Gadamer’in ‘felsefi hermenötiği’ odağında inceliyor. Hermenötik kökenler Dworkin’in kuramının doğru bir şekilde anlaşılması için önemlidir. Bu çerçevede makalenin amacı, Gadamer’in felsefi hermenötiğinin Dworkin’in hukuk kuramına ve yorum pratiğine etkisini incelemek ve sözkonusu teorik tartışmanın pratik sonuçlarını örnek bir mahkeme kararı ışığında irdelemektir. Gadamer hermenötiğine göre anlam, dilin, tarihin ve geleneğin etkisi altına ortaya çıkar. Yorumda, yorumcunun geleneğin etkisi altında gelişen tarihsel ufku ile metnin kendi ufku kaynaşır. Dolayısıyla yorum, metinde saklı anlamın keşfinin ötesinde, yorumcu ile metin arasındaki bir diyaloğu içerir. Gadamer’in etkisiyle Dworkin, hukuku gelişen bir hermenötik faaliyet olarak kavrar ve hukuk kuramını topluluğun hukuk pratiğinin “kurucu” yorumu olarak yeniden yapılandırır. Hukuku hermenötik bir faaliyet olarak kurmak, yaratıcı yargıç sorunu ve hukuk-ahlak ilişkisi gibi hukukbilimin önemli çağdaş sorunlarını yeniden formüle etme, bu sorunlara hermenötik yorum çerçevesinden bakarak çözüm önerme imkânı sağlar. Çalışmada, teorik açıklamaların ardından hermenötik bileşenlerin hukuki muhakemeye nasıl yansıtılabileceğini göstermesi açısından Anayasa Mahkemesinin bir kararı irdelenmektedir. Karar incelemesinin odağı, Anayasa Mahkemesinin kararının Dworkin’in “kurucu yorum” pratiğine ve Gadamer’in “ufukları kaynaştıran” hermenötik yaklaşımına uygun olup olmadığıdır. Varılan sonuç, Anayasa Mahkemesinin çoğunluk kararının, her ne kadar hermenötik muhakemenin unsurlarını içeriyor gözükse de nihayetinde yasa koyucu otoritenin niyetini ve hukuki metnin dogmatik anlamını yineliyor olduğudur. Mahkeme, bir metin olarak hukukun tarihsel anlamını toplumun çağdaş ufku ve ihtiyaçlarıyla bütünleştirebilecek yeni bir yaklaşım geliştirmemiş; sorunu, toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliğini hedefleyen ahlaki ve siyasi ilkeler temelinde ele almamıştır.This article examines Ronald Dworkin’s legal theory through the lens of Hans-Georg Gadamer’s “philosophical hermeneutics.” Hermeneutic foundations are crucial for a proper understanding of Dworkin’s theory. The main aim of the article is to explore how Gadamer’s philosophical hermeneutics influenced Dworkin’s legal theory and interpretive practice, and to evaluate the practical outcomes of this theoretical relationship by analyzing a specific court decision. According to Gadamer, meaning emerges under the influence of language, history, and tradition. In interpretation, the historical horizon of the interpreter -shaped by tradition- merges with the horizon of the text. Therefore, interpretation goes beyond discovering a hidden meaning in the text; it involves a dialogue between the interpreter and the text. Influenced by Gadamer, Dworkin presents law as an evolving hermeneutic activity and reconstructs legal theory as a “constructive” interpretation of a community’s legal practice. Understanding law as a hermeneutic activity allows for a reformulation of major legal issues -such as the role of the creative judge and the relationship between law and morality- from a hermeneutic perspective. After laying out the theoretical background, the article analyzes the decision of the Turkish Supreme Court to show how hermeneutic elements may be reflected in legal reasoning. The focus of the analysis is whether the Court’s decision aligns with Dworkin’s practice of “constructive interpretation” and Gadamer’s hermeneutic approach of “fusion of horizons.” The conclusion is that, although the majority opinion of the Court appears to include elements of hermeneutic reasoning, it ultimately repeats the legislator’s intent and the dogmatic meaning of the legal text. The Court did not offer a new approach that integrates the historical meaning of law as a text with the current needs and horizon of society, nor did it address the issue on the basis of moral and political principles aimed at achieving gender equality.</p
