    No full text
This study presents the synthesis of a biobased hydrogel composite (CC-PANI) using nanofibrous cellulose and polyaniline via in situ polymerization, designed as a biodegradable and non-toxic adsorbent for the efficient removal of rifampicin, a model antibiotic micropollutant, from aqueous solutions. Comprehensive characterization revealed significant physicochemical modifications in the composite, including enhanced surface morphology and porosity. Response surface methodology was employed to optimize critical parameters, achieving a maximum removal efficiency under 30 mg/L initial drug concentration, 20 mg adsorbent dosage, pH 7.0, and 55 degrees C. Adsorption kinetics, thermodynamics, and isotherm models confirmed CC-PANI's superior performance, with a Langmuir adsorption capacity of 117.02 mg/g. Reusability studies showed consistent performance, maintaining over 90 % removal efficiency across six adsorption-desorption cycles. These findings highlight the potential of CC-PANI as an innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective solution for micropollutant removal, significantly contributing to wastewater treatment technologies and environmental sustainability

Cârullah’ın sünnete dair iddiası, olumlu bazı düşünceleri çağrıştırsa da onun sadece bir teori olarak kaldığını ifade etmek yanlış olmayacaktır.Mûsâ Jārullāh Bīgīyef (d. 1949) is one of the most prominent Islamic scholars produced by the Kazan Turks in the last century. Bîgî lived during a period when Islamic societies and states were undergoing a complete collapse in political, military, economic, and cultural terms. He devoted himself to finding solutions rooted in the Qurʾān and Sunna to help the Islamic world emerge from this crisis. The subject of this article, Kitāb al-Sunna, envisions a novel approach to the relationship between the Qurʾān.and Sunna and was written as a response to the Qurʾānists discourse, which emerged in the modern era initially in the Indian subcontinent and sought to marginalize the Sunna. Bîgîyef could not remain silent in the face of the excessive stance of the Qurʾānists and proposed a different theory that placed the Sunna above the Qurʾān. According to him, the Sunna of the Prophet Muhammad holds primacy among the four foundational sources of Islamic legal and theological authority. In his view, every ruling in Islam was first established by the Sunna, and subsequently, the Qurʾānic verses confirmed, validated, and even eternalized the Prophet’s words, actions, and approvals. The essential principles of faith and religion, as well as all obligatory rules and regulations in Islam, were first determined by the Sunna and later confirmed and established by the Qurʾānic verses. For example, the acts, conditions, and times of prayer were first explained by the Sunna, and only later were they validated by Qurʾānic verses. In Kitāb al-Sunna, Bîgîyef supports his unique theory of the Sunna with various Qurʾānic verses. This study examines the verses cited by Bîgîyef as evidence for the Sunna within the framework of contextual integrity (intratextual, extratextual, and divine context), which forms the core of the Qurʾān's holistic approach. It aims to investigate whether these verses actually support Bîgîyef's theory of the Sunna. The findings reveal that the verses cited by Bîgîyef have no direct connection to the Prophet's Sunna. This is due to a fragmented approach to interpretation that generally disregards the textual historical context. Although Bîgîyef's claims about the Sunna suggest some positive ideas, it would not be wrong to say that his theory remains only theoretical

    No full text
Objective: To evaluate the impact of occupational radiation exposure on thyroid function among healthcare workers exposed to radioactive iodine-131 and X-rays. Method: A retrospective study of 101 participants divided into three groups: nuclear medicine workers (radioactive iodine-131 exposure), radiology workers (X-ray exposure), and controls. Thyroid hormone levels and ultrasonography results were analyzed. The mean duration of occupational exposure was approximately 10 years. Results: Nuclear medicine workers showed elevated TSH levels (30% with subclinical hypothyroidism), while radiology workers exhibited reduced thyroid volume. Controls demonstrated no thyroid dysfunction. Conclusion: Occupational radiation exposure, especially to iodine-131, poses significant risks to thyroid health, underscoring the need for stringent radiation safety and regular monitoring

This study aimed to identify the biopsychosocial stressors influencing child and adolescent mental health during periods when facetoface education was suspended and to evaluate the psychological sequelae of school closures and related restrictions. We conducted a retrospective observational study at Kartal Dr. Lütfi Kırdar City Hospital, a tertiary care center in İstanbul, reviewing all patients referred to the child and adolescent consultation-liaison psychiatry (CLP) unit between March 2020 and March 2022. We assessed associations between psychiatric diagnoses and health-related stressors, school closure status, age, and sex using both frequentist and Bayesian methods. During the study period, 264,013 pediatric admissions were recorded, of whom 270 (0.10%) required psychiatric consultation. The proportions of suicide attempts and anxiety diagnoses did not differ between periods of open and closed schools (BF10 = 0.21 and 0.138, respectively; moderate evidence for the null). Multivariate analysis showed that the odds of suicide attempts were higher in patients exposed to family or schoolrelated stressors (OR = 6.63, 95% CI 2.72–16.19), in females (OR = 8.10, 95% CI 4.16–15.77), and with increasing age (OR = 1.32 per year, 95% CI 1.16–1.50). Female sex (OR = 4.17, 95% CI 2.03–8.55) and older age (OR = 1.30 per year, 95% CI 1.12–1.50) were also associated with depression. Anxiety was more likely in those facing isolation or healthrelated stressors (OR = 3.91, 95% CI 1.66–9.22). These findings highlight the differential impact of stressor type on internalizing symptoms and may inform resource allocation and crisisresponse planning in child mental health services

Optimal Placement Allocation of DGs in Northwest Anatolia Power System by Using a Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm

The voltage profile and power losses of traditional network are influenced by the location, power and the number of Distributed Generation (DG) resources. To prevent the network from being adversely affected by DG resources, the integration of DG resources into the grid is done using various optimization methods. In this study, the allocation of DG resources in the Northwest Anatolian (NWA) power system with 114 buses, was discussed by using one of the most common optimization methods, the Genetic Algorithm (GA). For this purpose, minimizing active power losses, enhancement of voltage profile and maximization of voltage stability index were used as objective functions. 4 different cases were created and DG resources were integrated according to these cases. The power system was examined in terms of active power losses, index values and voltage profile. In two of these cases, load increase was made in the power system to evaluate the possible load increases that may occur during the operation. The simulation results verified the effectiveness of the recommended approach; the active power losses decreased, the voltage profile enhanced and the voltage stability index increased within the specified range. It has been observed that the proposed approach reduces losses in the power system by between 27.84% and 33.63% for different conditions

Exploring error estimates of Newton-Cotes quadrature rules across diverse function classes

    No full text
This in-depth study looks at symmetric four-point Newton-Cotes-type inequalities with a focus on error estimates for numerical integration. The precision of these estimates is explored across various classes of functions, including those with bounded variation, bounded derivatives, Lipschitzian derivatives, convex derivatives, and others. The research synthesizes and extends existing knowledge, providing a nuanced understanding of how error bounds depend on the characteristics of integrated functions. Through a systematic review of seminal works, the study contributes to the practical application of numerical integration techniques, offering insight for researchers and practitioners to make informed choices based on the specific features of the functions involved
