Proactive tools measuring resilient socio-economic development of rural areas with reflection of technological progress and digitalisation
No full textIn an era of rapid technological advances and digitalisation, rural communities face both challenges and new opportunities. This dissertation explores proactive tools that are designed to anticipate challenges rather than simply respond to current and negative factors affecting the current development of localities and regions. Unlike reactive measures, these proactive tools assess and promote resilient socio-economic development in rural areas, focusing particularly on the role of digitalisation and innovation. This dissertation thoroughly explores and evaluates proactive methods for assessing resilient rural socio-economic development, emphasising the impact of technological progress and digitalisation. The research is structured around six key questions relating to structural change, land use policy, digital innovation, economic sustainability, and policy implications. Through empirical analysis and case studies, the dissertation highlights the transformative potential of digitalisation in enhancing agricultural productivity, connectivity, and economic resilience. It also critically assesses existing rural development models, advocating an integrated approach combining proactive resilience strategies with sustainable digital policies. By incorporating multidimensional assessment tools and introducing new indices such as the Community Internet Resilience Index, this dissertation contributes to regional development theories and offers concrete methodological tools. The results suggest that rural areas can overcome a number of socio-economic development challenges and better prepare for future ones by adopting strategic digital solutions and evidence-based policies.Proaktivní nástroje měření odolného socioekonomického rozvoje venkovských oblastí s reflexí technologického pokroku a digitalizace V době rychlého technologického pokroku a digitalizace čelí venkovské komunity jak výzvám, tak i novým příležitostem. Tato disertační práce zkoumá proaktivní nástroje, které jsou navrženy spíše k předvídání výzev než k pouhé reakci na aktuální a negativní faktory působící na současný rozvoj lokalit a regionů. Na rozdíl od reaktivních opatření, tak proaktivní nástroje slouží pro hodnocení a podporu odolného socioekonomického rozvoje venkovských oblastí, se zvláštním zaměřením na roli digitalizace a inovací. Cílem této disertační práce je důkladně prozkoumat a vyhodnotit proaktivní metody pro posuzování odolného socioekonomického rozvoje venkova, přičemž se klade důraz na vliv technologického pokroku a digitalizace. Výzkum je strukturován kolem šesti klíčových otázek týkajících se strukturálních změn, politiky využití půdy, digitálních inovací, ekonomické udržitelnosti a politických implikací. Prostřednictvím empirických analýz a případových studií disertační práce zdůrazňuje transformační potenciál digitalizace při zlepšování zemědělské produktivity, konektivity a ekonomické odolnosti. Kriticky také hodnotí stávající modely rozvoje venkova a prosazuje integrovaný přístup, který kombinuje proaktivní strategie odolnosti s udržitelnými digitálními politikami. Začleněním vícerozměrných hodnotících nástrojů a zavedením nových indexů, jako je Index internetové odolnosti komunit, tato disertační práce přispívá k teoriím regionálního rozvoje a nabízí konkrétní metodologické nástroje. Dle výsledků vyplývá, že přijetím strategických digitálních řešení a politik založených na důkazech mohou venkovské oblasti překonat řadu socioekonomických problémů ve svém rozvoji a lépe se připravit na budoucí související výzvy
Performance-related remuneration using a specific company as an example
No full textThe bachelor's thesis deals with the remuneration of workers based on their performance using the example of a specific company. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part first deals with the basic concepts related to performance, its measurement and management, including the historical context. Then, various approaches to merit-based remuneration are presented. The practical part focuses on the remuneration of newcomers in a specific company operating in the insurance sector. First, the company is introduced and then the thesis is devoted to the analysis of the remuneration system that the company currently uses. The result is proposals for optimizing this system.Bakalářská práce se zabývá odměňováním pracovníků na základě jejich výkonnosti s využitím příkladu konkrétní společnosti. Práce je rozdělená na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část se nejprve věnuje základním pojmům souvisejícím s výkonností, jejím měřením a řízením, včetně historického kontextu. Poté jsou představeny různé přístupy k zásluhovému odměňování. Praktická část je zaměřená na odměňování nováčků v konkrétním podniku, který působí v pojišťovacím sektoru. Nejprve je firma představena a poté je práce věnována analýze systému odměňování, který společnost v současnosti využívá. Výsledkem jsou návrhy na optimalizaci tohoto systému
Application of Selected Methods in the Accounting of Medical Facilities (Differences Between the Public and Private Sector)

The main objective is to identify differences in financial statements, expenditure structure, approach to financing, management motivation, and adherence to the principles of corporate social responsibility (CSR). The theoretical part provides an overview of the healthcare financing system in the Czech Republic, the legal forms of medical facilities, and relevant accounting regulations. The practical part is based on the analysis of publicly available data from a specific private and public hospital, comparing their cost structure, profitability, equity structure, staffing, and methods of financing. Emphasis is placed on interpreting these differences. The conclusion summarizes the approaches of public and private hospitals in terms of financial management, corporate and social responsibility, taking into account their differing legal forms. These are key aspects that must be considered, especially in the healthcare sector, where not only regulations but also ethics play a significant role. The thesis opens up many topics for further research, which can be explored in future works dealing with similar themes.Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na srovnání hospodaření a účetního vykazování nemocnice ve veřejném a soukromém sektoru. Hlavním cílem je identifikovat rozdíly v účetních výkazech, výdajové struktuře, přístupu k financování, motivaci managementu a vztahu k principům společenské odpovědnosti (CSR). Teoretická část poskytuje přehled o systému financování zdravotnictví v České republice, právních formách lékařských zařízení a příslušných účetních předpisech. Praktická část je založena na analýze údajů z veřejně dostupných údajů z konkrétní soukromé a veřejné nemocnice, přičemž porovnává jejich nákladovost, ziskovost, strukturu vlastního kapitálu, zaměstnance a způsob financování. Důraz je kladen na interpretaci těchto rozdílů. Závěr shrnuje přístup nemocnic v soukromém a veřejném sektoru z hlediska finančního řízení, korporátní a sociální odpovědnosti s ohledem na rozdílné právní formy. Jedná se o klíčové aspekty, které je potřeba brát v potaz zejména v sektoru zdravotnictví, kde nehrají roli pouze předpisy, ale také morálka. Práce otevírá spoustu témat pro bádání, na která lze navázat v budoucnosti při zpracování prací s podobnou tématikou
The Offer of Travel Insurance on the Czech Insurance Market
No full textThis bachelor's thesis examines the aspects of travel insurance offerings with a focus on the student segment up to 26 years of age in the Czech insurance market. The main topic is the identification of key factors influencing students' decision-making when choosing insurance. The study explores the available insurance products from selected insurance companies to assess their suitability and accessibility for this specific group. The first part of the thesis defines insurance, its classification, and the specifics of travel insurance. It also focuses on market segmentation and the characteristics of the student clientele. The second part is dedicated to a questionnaire survey that maps student preferences and a comparative analysis of selected insurance companies products. The results highlight the most important factors for students and how well insurance companies respond to them. The contribution of this thesis is to provide recommendations for insurance companies on how to better tailor their products to students' needs while also helping students make informed decisions when choosing travel insurance.Tato bakalářská práce analyzuje aspekty nabídky cestovního pojištění se zaměřením na segment studentů do 26 let věku na českém pojistném trhu. Hlavním tématem je identifikace klíčových faktorů, které ovlivňují rozhodování studentů při výběru pojištění. Předmětem práce je analýza dostupných pojistných produktů u vybraných poskytovatelů pojištění, s cílem posoudit jejich vhodnost a dostupnost pro tuto specifickou skupinu. První část práce vymezuje pojištění, jeho klasifikaci a specifika cestovního pojištění. Dále se práce zaměřuje na segmentaci trhu a charakteristiku studentské klientely. Část druhá se věnuje dotazníkovému šetření, který mapuje preference studentů a komparativní analýze produktů vybraných pojišťoven. Výsledky ukazují, které faktory jsou pro studenty nejdůležitější a jak dobře na ně pojišťovny reagují. Přínosem práce je poskytnutí doporučení pro pojišťovny, jak lépe přizpůsobit své produkty potřebám studentů, a zároveň pomoci studentům s výběrem cestovního pojištění
Accounting system in the United Kingdom
No full textThis bachelor’s thesis focuses on the accounting system in the United Kingdom in the context of harmonization of accounting. The theoretical part provides a brief overview of the development and implementation of the new UK GAAP, followed by a description of the current state of the UK accounting system. The practical part of the thesis is focused on selected aspects of UK GAAP, specifically changes in revenue recognition based on amendments from year 2022 and 2024. These changes are illustrated using a model example with two modifications. The final chapter of the thesis includes an addition presenting a parallel with Czech Republic.Bakalářská práce se zabývá účetním systémem ve Velké Británii v kontextu harmonizace účetnictví. Teoretická část práce je věnována stručnému přehledu vývoje a zavedení nových UK GAAP, následně je popsán současný stav účetního systému Velké Británie. Praktická část práce je zaměřena na vybrané aspekty UK GAAP, konkrétně na změny v oblasti rozpoznávání výnosů podle úprav z let 2022 a 2024. Tyto změny jsou ilustrovány na modelovém příkladě se dvěma modifikacemi. Poslední kapitola práce obsahuje dodatek – paralelu s Českou republikou
Comparison of accounting and taxation of individual entrepreneurs in the Czech Republic and the USA
No full textThe thesis deals with the analysis of the conditions for starting a business as a self-employed person and the related obligations, such as keeping records of economic activity and taxation of their income. The first chapter deals with these aspects in the Czech Republic, including the definition of entrepreneurship and how to start this activity. The second chapter focuses on describing these conditions for the United States. The third chapter compares the findings. The fourth chapter applies the information gained by applying it to a model example that compares the income tax burdens of businesses in the two countries. The thesis provides a basic insight into the legislative framework as well as a basic overview of accounting and tax requirements.Práce se zabývá analýzou podmínek pro zahájení podnikání jako osoba samostatně výdělečně činná a dále s tím souvisejících povinnostech, jako je vedení evidence hospodářské činnosti a zdanění tohoto příjmu. První kapitola se zabývá těmito aspekty v České republice, včetně definice podnikání a způsobu zahájení činnost. Druhá kapitola se soustředí na popsání těchto podmínek pro Spojené státy americké. Třetí kapitola zjištěné poznatky porovná. Ve čtvrté kapitole se nabyté informace použijí aplikací na modelovém příkladu, který porovnává daňové zatížení daně z příjmu podnikatelů v obou státech. Práce poskytuje základní vhled do legislativního rámce a také základní přehled účetních a daňových požadavků
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award: Analysis of availability and the need for on-line center in the Czech Republic
No full textThe bachelor’s thesis focuses on the introduction of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award and the subsequent processing of data on new registrants to the programme in each type of centre and data on new graduates of arbitrary levels in 2024. Using analysis of variance, it was found that the time period, in which an arbitrary level was not dependent on the region. It was also found that the age of the graduate at entry depends on the chosen level as well as the region. The type of centre affects the age at entry, but not the duration of completion. Gender has no effect on either variable among online graduates in 2024.Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na představení Mezinárodní ceny Vévody z Edinburghu a následnému zpracování dat týkajících se nově registrovaným zájemcům o program v jednotlivých druzích center a datech o nových absolventech libovolných úrovní v roce 2024. Pomocí analýzy rozptylů bylo zjištěno, že doba, za níž byla libovolná úroveň splněna, nezávisí na kraji. Též bylo zjištěno, že věk absolventa při vstupu do programu závisí na zvolené úrovni a zároveň kraji. Druh centra má vliv na věk vstupu do programu, nemá však vliv na délku plnění. Pohlaví nemá vliv na délku plnění nebo věk při vstupu on-line absolventů v roce 2024
Analysis of the Impact of Macroeconomic Factors on the Performance of the German Stock Market
No full textThe thesis focuses on analyzing the relationship between macroeconomic factors and the performance of the German stock index DAX. Special emphasis is placed on the period following the outbreak of the war in Ukraine in 2022. The aim is to determine whether this geopolitical shock influenced the relationships between macroeconomic indicators and the stock market. The theoretical part outlines the securities markets and the German economy. The empirical part is based on regression analysis of time series using quarterly data from 2005 to 2024. The variables examined include the interest rate, inflation rate, GDP, money supply M3, the EUR/USD exchange rate, and the S&P 500 index. Interaction variables are used to analyze the impact of the war. The analysis shows that the direction of influence of certain factors changed during the war, however, a statistically significant effect of the war could not be demonstrated for all the variables examined.Práce je zaměřena na analýzu vztahu mezi makroekonomickými faktory a výkonností německého akciového indexu DAX. Zvláštní důraz je kladen na období po začátku války na Ukrajině v roce 2022. Cílem je zjistit, zda tento geopolitický šok ovlivnil vztahy mezi makroekonomickými ukazateli a německým akciovým trhem. V teoretické části jsou vymezeny trhy cenných papírů a německé hospodářství. Empirická část je založena na regresní analýze časových řad s kvartálními daty z let 2005–2024. Zkoumané proměnné zahrnují úrokovou míru, míru inflace, HDP, peněžní agregát M3, směnný kurz EUR/USD a index S&P 500. Pro analýzu dopadu války jsou použity interakční proměnné. Z analýzy vyplývá, že se během války změnil směr působení vybraných faktorů, avšak statisticky významný vliv války se nepodařil prokázat u všech zkoumaných proměnných
Comparison of theatre operation financing on the example of the F. X. Šalda Theatre and Theatre Na zábradlí
No full textBakalářská práce se zaměřuje na komparaci financování divadelního provozu na příkladu Divadla F. X. Šaldy v Liberci a Divadla Na zábradlí v Praze. Cílem bakalářské práce je vyhodnotit rozdíly ve způsobu financování vybraných divadel. V teoretické části práce jsou popsány základní informace z oblasti divadelního provozu v České republice a dále jsou přiblíženy možnosti financování divadel. Praktická část vychází z analýzy výročních zpráv obou divadel a z rozhovorů s jejich ekonomickými pracovníky. Výsledná komparace poukazuje na podobnosti v základní struktuře finančního hospodaření, zároveň však odhaluje i specifické rozdíly v odlišnosti přístupu k financování u každého z divadel.The bachelor thesis focuses on the comparison of theatre operation financing on the example of the F. X. Šalda Theatre in Liberec and Theatre Na zábradlí in Prague. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to evaluate the differences in the method of financing of selected theatres. In the theoretical part of the thesis, basic information on theatre operations in the Czech Republic is described and the possibilities of financing theatres are presented. The practical part is based on the analysis of the annual reports of both theatres and interviews with their economic staff. The resulting comparison points to similarities in the basic structure of financial management, but also reveals specific differences in the approach to financing at each theatre

No full textThe main goal of this thesis is to assess the potential of Tatra tea, a unique Slovak herbal tea-based liqueur on foreign markets. This work will focus on analysing and identifying target markets for this product. In the first chapter, the attention is aimed at motivations of companies to go international. Different types of market entries are analysed and a closer insight on analysis which will be further used is provided. The second chapter of this thesis is devoted to Tatra tea itself. The characteristics not only of the product but of the whole company as well. Additionally, insights on the global spirits market are provided together with the analysis of major global players and competition. The third and last chapter is devoted to further analysis of Tatra tea’s potential on foreign market.1.
