TRENDS IN VALORISATION OF SPENT COFFEE GROUNDS: A REVIEW
Coffee is nowadays one of the most appreciated and also consumed beverage. Its consumption presentsmany benefits for humans, but has also a great inconvenience because of the major quantities of waste resulted in thebrewing process, which is not further exploited and reaches the environment with a significant negative impact. Thisresidue is represented by spent coffee grounds (SCG). Due to its chemical composition, SCG represents a good source ofsome useful active compounds, which can be exploited for obtaining high-value products. This paper overviews aspectsregarding the coffee world production, consumption and total quantities of residues resulted from coffee industry, pointing out the possibilities of SCG valorisation. Thus, it reviews the most important researches regarding SCG potentialuse in different domains, such as energy, agriculture, food and health, material construction and wastewaters treatment
Age and Work Experience as Antecedents of Ethical Decision Making of Managers: Nigerian Experience
Cognitive moral development theory positsthat an individual’s cognition, emotion andjudgment changes as one move throughstages of moral development. Age and workexperience have been suggested asdeterminants of ethical ideology which in turninfluences ethical behavior. This studyexamined age and work experience asantecedents of ethical decision making ofmanagers. Ethical judgment and ethicalintention were used to measure ethicaldecision making. The findings indicate thatolder managers are not necessarily moreethical than younger managers. But theevidence demonstrated further that moreexperienced managers are more ethical thanless experienced managers. It can beconcluded that work experience rather thanmere age is the real antecedent of ethicalbehavior. Further analyses showed that thisconclusion may be due to the evidence thatmore experienced managers are more idealistic and less relativistic than lessexperienced managers
THE FACT of CULTURAL DIMENSIONS of HR in MULTINATIONAL COMPANIES
The main aim of this study is to analyze the fact of cultural dimensions on HR in multinational companies, where they are located in Turkey, to see if there is a correlation result between power distance and individualism\collectivism dimensions for an only HR department, rather than including the whole departments of companies.
The article examined only two of the six dimensions of Hofstede which are Power Distance and Individualism.
It was research conducted to examine the relationship between two different dimensions in the human resources department in multinational companies. Application areas for having interviews with 15 people from three different multinational companies and 104 participants answering the survey in the structure of human resources departments operating in Turkey were selected. The research was created especially about the significance of the lack of theoretical research on culture and cultural practices in Turkey to see to what extent can reflect. According to the test result, it was found that a positive and significant relationship between power distance and individualism\collectivism dimensions in the HR department
EFFECTS OF THANATOLOGY INTERVENTION PROGRAMME ON KNOWLEDGE AND ATTITUDE OF SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS IN ANAMBRA STATE NIGERIA.
Introduction: The manner in which a child would cope with dying and death situation would be determined by what the child already know and what knowledge concerning thanatology the child had been exposed to previously. This study was concluded to determine the effect of thanatology intervention programme on knowledge and attitude of secondary school students in Anambra State Nigeria.
Method: The study was delimited to Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State. Quasi-experimental pre-test, post-test control group design was used on 282 junior and senior secondary school students selected from four secondary schools which included two private schools and two public schools and they were divided into control and experimental groups. The research instrument was a researcher-developed instrument on knowledge and attitude towards thanatology. Mean and standard deviation was used to answer research questions. Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA) was used to answer the hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance.
Results: The results of the study revealed that there was an increasein the knowledge and attitude of secondary school students after the thanatology intervention programme.
Conclusion: Based on the various findings of the study, it was concluded that thanatology has great effect on the students’ knowledge and attitude. Furthermore, it is recommended that thanatology should be taught both informally and formally to help remove or control the fear of dying and death in them
Teaching Structural Physical Chemistry Using Adequate Strategies: doi>10.24250/JPE/1/2020/DD
Within this study we propose a few examples of student-centred exercises to be used when applying in teaching and learning structural physical chemistry. These exercises imply to compute the bond orders using molecular orbitals method for σ homonuclear and heteronuclear bonds and for π polycentric bonds from organic conjugated systems. The values obtained for the diatomic molecules bonds and their cations and anions, metals from primary and secondary groups and organic compounds containing nitrogen atoms are further correlated with some properties and applications of these substances. These exercises also prove that structural and energetic indices, calculated by molecular orbitals method support acid, oxidant and electrophilic character of investigated diazonium cations, and these static indices of reactivity underpin the description of stability of these compounds on which depend their uses in coupling reactions
MONITORING SYSTEM OF THE QUALITY OF FUTURE TEACHERS' TRAINING WITH HELP OF GOOGLE CLOUD SERVICES: 10.24250/JPE/2/2020/TB/IK/OA
In this article offered the technology of using Google search engine cloud services to build a system for monitoring the quality of future teachers' training in sphere of higher education. The possibility of using the BYOD concept to test students' academic achievements is considered. The advantages of the proposed approach for monitoring the quality of future teachers' training in sphere of higher education are presented, in particular, it is noted that the use of Google search cloud services expands the scope of research in space and time, makes the monitoring procedure more flexible and systematic
THE ALTERNATIVE FOURTH - GRADE CALCULUS BOOKS A CRITICAL ANALYSIS : 10.24250/JPE/2/2020/CNB/LZO
Mathematics as a study discipline, is not one of the most attractive subjects for the majority of students. The rejective attitude of the human being, when dealing with the unknown, is a natural reaction of self-defence. But for some, it is precisely this lack of initial understanding that is appealing as a challenge for further discoveries and development.
In this article we have analysed three fourth-grade calculus books, both in printed and digital version, in order to establish a proper hierarchy in accordance with fourth grade national curriculum. A complex evaluation grid was used in analysing three of the most used calculus books for the fourth grade. The highest result was obtained by the calculus book proposed by Intuitex Publishing House Bucharest. For further developments we aimed to elaborate our own calculus book for fourth grade. A shorter version, for two content units, was developed and tested by the authors
The Role of Didactic Strategies in Optimizing the Training of Handball Players at the Wing Post – the Analysis of the Somatic Ind
Scope. Designing a didactic strategy means predictability, experience andadaptation of methods and means to the structure of human material, whichhighlights and differentiates it from the algorithm : the strategy offers alternatives, the option of manifesting intelligent behavior, while the algorithminvolves a mechanical state of an action sequence. Methodology. The experimenttook place between December 2017 - June 2018, in the city of Suceava, with the 18 team of Suceava Sports High School specialized on the wingpost. During this period, the team maintained its regular training program, the wings following our proposed program to analyze its effect on improvingthe tracking parameters. We estimate that the scientific approach to training, from the perspective of the physical, technical and psychological componentsof sports training, will increase the competitive yield. Results. After we apllyour program we see the changes: - at the body fat of the extreme playersdecreasing significantly from 15.72 ± 3.42% to 13.57 ± 2.52%; - the level ofactive mass of our subjects recorded a statistically significant increase from42.73 ± 1.97% to 45.97 ± 2.16%; - the basal energy needs of our athletes suffera significant increase, from 1697 ± 127.6 kcal to 1818 ± 124.1 kcal. Conclusion. The training program has show us good results, but any planningcan not achieve perfection, requiring continuous improvements, gait adjustmentsand additions in line with the requirements of modern handball. Theproposed program can be continuously implemented in the research team, byadapting to the conditions of the moment and the proposed objectives
TEACHING QUALITY IN HIGHER EDUCATION: PREREQUISITES FOR ITS IMPROVEMENT
Engagement of students in the teaching process, joint project activities with teachers, their readiness for learning and initiative are the basic prerequisites for ensuring the quality of higher education process and outcomes. Searching the possibilities of improving university teaching quality, we examined students' attitudes (N = 174) in order to determine whether students recognize the importance of joint activities with teachers, project planning and implementation, in the context of their motivational readiness for more efficient learning and higher quality acquisition of knowledge. The research was performed using a descriptive method and a scaling process. Research results confirm that students recognize the importance of joint project activities they implement with teachers during instruction, as well as of step-by-step learning (by smaller units), further motivating them to learn. These results point the researchers to the directions of action aimed at developing a system of measures to improve the quality of contemporary university education
MUSICAL CONTENT INSPIRED BY NATIONAL CREATIVITY OF ETHNIC COMMUNITIES OF VOJVODINA – MODELS OF MUSIC ABILITY DEVELOPMENT AT THE PRESCHOOL AGE
It is undeniable that tradition and culture form a nation’s “mirror of the soulâ€. Inaccordance with this the cultural heritage of a country with all its elements is thereflection of the existence of every nation (Stolic, 2017:182). It is clear to everyonethat the young are the successors and carriers of the nation’s cultural identity, but itis also well known that children cannot often come across and in that way learn aboutthe cultural heritage of their country. The way of dressing and life is different todayand traditional songs and games are rarely listened to and performed (Stolic,2017:182). Therefore, it is necessary to periodically influence and enrich their liveswith traditional national songs and games. National songs and games with singingcan be present in the children’s lives from their birth. Through an adequate selectionand usage the children will in an unobtrusive way become familiar with their nationalheritage through song and play (Stolic, 2017). The topics of national song and gamescan be diverse, but humorous and love texts are the most common. Also common arethe texts which describe work in the fields or the process of other types of work
