    Get PDF
One problem of modern didactics is related to application of proper scientific and efficient pedagogical methods. The didactic methods should be permanently adapted to the new generation background. In the designing process asreference point should be considered the attractiveness of the proposed technique, but without neglecting the desiredoutputs considered. One of the newest teaching and learning perspective suppose multidisciplinary and interdisciplinaryapproach of the teaching-learning process.Classical teaching methods are principally based on teacher exposure and students individual study. Due togeneration mentality changes and the inconveniences presented by the standard didactics the techniques described in thepresent paper are based on cooperation and discovery. The students are encouraged to actively participate in the learningprocess. This approach contributes to improvement of cognitive and critical thinking. This focuses on testing andevaluating possible solutions in specific situation, followed by choosing the optimal solution based on the arguments. These represent important attributes to future specialist in science domain

THE IMPACT OF CRITICAL CONSCIOUSNESS ON TEACHER CONCEPTIONS AND BELIEFS ABOUT TEACHING AND LEARNING: THE MEDIATOR ROLE OF CAREER IDENTITY : doi>10.24250/JPE/1/2020/GMA

    No full text
The present study investigated the connections between teacher education students’ teacher conceptions about teaching and learning (i.e. constructivist conceptions, traditional conceptions), career identity and critical consciousness components (i.e. critical agency, critical reflection, critical action). The sample included 141 (mean age=21.95, SD=3.17) future primary school or kindergarten teachers enrolled in the second and third year at the university. Self-reported measures were employed to assess students’ teacher conceptions about teaching and learning, their career identity and critical consciousness components. The results showed that the career identity was significantly positively related to constructivist conceptions whilst the traditional conceptions held no significant associations. Constructivist conceptions were also significantly positively related to critical agency, critical action, and egalitarianism. Career identity mediated the relation between teacher conceptions about teaching and learning and critical agency. Further, the educational implications of the findings are thoroughly discussed. &nbsp

The study examines the attitudes of future pre-school teachers in preschool institutions about 21st-century digital skills, especially in the field of Methodology of Teaching Environmental Studies. The aim of the research was to examine whether future preschool teahers recognized the possibilities of applying digital technologies in educational work, through self-assessment of digital competencies, and whether there was a statistically significant difference in the attitudes of students of vocational and academic studies. The sample included 125 students, future preschool teachers (57 respondents from vocational studies and 68 respondents from academic studies). The attitudes of students, future preschool teahers, were examined using a five-point Likert-type scale created on the basis of the European Framework for the Digital Competence of Educators. The results of the study showed that future pre-school teachers had positive attitudes and recognized the possibilities of applying digital technology in preschool educational work. Future pre-school teachers positively evaluate their 21st-century digital skills, but in general there is a statistically significant difference in the self-assessment of digital competencies between students of academic and vocational studies, that is, students of academic studies have more positive attitudes about digital competencies compared to students of vocational studies

This article presents the implementation of an experiment-based approach to see the impact on school achievement of the health profile student in primary school. The research relied on the principle that physical activity must be integrated into the teaching process, not eliminated because movement is essential for improving or increasing academic achievement. The experimental group was formed of 250 primary school students, divided into two groups: the control group - 125 students and the experimental group -125 students, 13 teachers, one nurse, and two physiotherapists. The experiment itself was marked by the use of methods to integrate physical activity during classes, followed by the process of measuring school results through six assessment tests in school subjects - mathematics and Romanian language - for the 250 students from the primary school cycle in Bucharest - 125 students comprised the experimental group, which integrated various physical activities in their learning, and the other 125 - the control group, which did not use physical activities in the school curriculum. The results of the study encourage the idea of using movement during every school day. Physical activity, so beneficial to health and learning, must become an important part of the educational process

The aim of this study is to investigate whether musical preferences are an indicator of self-esteem and body image. It also wanted to investigate whether the personality can indicate the preferred type of music.             A number of 103 participants have responded to the online questionnaire, 74 women and 29 men, aged between 19 and 58 years. Participants completed a questionnaire provided online, consisting of the Rosenberg test, IPIP-50, BAS-2, the MUSE test (Music USE) and the musical preferences questionnaire (MPQ-R).             In order to have more data on the background of the participants, demographic data was collected such as age, gender, last completed studies, height and  weight. Data were also collected on the reason and frequency for listening to music. The results of the study indicated that the type of music listened to and the time spent listening to music are not in relationship with the level of body appreciation.             The results have indicated that there is a positive significant correlation between the high number of hours listening to music and conscientiousness,  there is a positive connection between Pop music and emotional stability, and there is a positive significant correlation between Blues/Jazz and openness to new experiences. Also, it was discovered that there is a significative negative correlation between rock music and BMI

AN EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN FOR PHENOLIC COMPOUNDS EXTRACTION FROM FLAX SEEDS

    Get PDF
Response surface methodology (RSM) was used to determine the optimization function for the extractionof phenolic compounds from flax seeds. Our preliminary design includes tree independent variables at two levels (8experiments): hydrolysis temperature (60 and 80oC), extraction time (3 and 4 h) and solvent composition (ethanol/water60:40 and 80:20 v/v). The dependent variable used in order to evaluate the extraction process of the total phenolic contentof extracts obtained from flax seeds was expressed in gallic acid equivalent (mg GAE/L). Using RSM, a polynomialequation was obtained by multiple regression analysis for predicting optimization of the extraction protocol. Maximumyield was obtained when hydrolysis temperature, extraction time and solvent composition were 80oC, 4 h and 60:40 (v/v),respectively. This relation can be useful in the development and optimization of industrial extraction processes

OPINIONS OF FUTURE TEACHERS REGARDING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF NEW EDUCATION IN SCHOOL: doi> 10.24250/JPE/1/2020/AME/CE

The new educations are adapting to the present, and are connected as a priority to the future, to the possible challenges of the evolution of the world. The new educations represent, in a way, a contour of the pedagogical current affirmed at the beginning of the twentieth century, under the name of "New education", which was centered on the renewal of the educative-educated methodological report. The new educations are focused, in particular, on new objectives and messages, which determine the contents and strategies of education in the conditions of the contemporary world. Through the questionnaire-based survey method, the study centralizes and analyzes the opinions of 52 students, future teachers, related to the implementation of new education in pre-university education. The 14-item questionnaire is its own conception, and includes questions regarding three areas of interest: the presence / absence of new education in its own formation of future teachers, barriers and their benefits in the current education system, respectively, the role of new education in developing skills the students. By analyzing the answers given by the future teachers, we can conclude that they like the integration of the new education in the pre-university education, consider that they contribute to the development of the social competences of the students, increase the capacity of their responsibility, facilitate the stimulation of the creativity and contribute to the training of the skills of technological means

THE IMPACT OF THE TIME SPENT ON SOCIAL NETWORKS ON EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE IN ADOLESCENTS: doi>10.24250/JPE/1/2020/ACC/IAF

This study aims at identifying the level of emotional intelligence in pupils, to determine correlations between these psychological characteristics and the time spending in social networks, as well as to identify differences between female and male adolescents, regarding the level of their emotional intelligence. The research sample consisted of 200 pupils (123 female and 77 male adolescents), aged 15 to 19 years, studying in Romanian school institutions. In order to test the hypothesis, the following instruments were used: a. Test for Emotional Intelligence (adapted by Mihaela Roco after Reuven Bar-On and Daniel Goleman), b. a questionnaire designed to identify the time spending by pupils to use the social networks (developed for research purposes). The Emotional Intelligence Test consists of 10 items that provide for four situations in which the person can be found. The completion of the test is aimed, on the one hand, at ensuring the individual's transposition as much as possible, and on the other, choosing one of the four possible answers’ variants, which are some concrete ways to react in the situations indicated by questions. The data analysis and obtained results highlights the existence of statistically significant negative correlations between the time spent by students on accessing social networks and the level of emotional intelligence. The statistical analysis also highlights the existence of a statistically significant difference between female and male adolescents at the level of emotional intelligence. The findings obtained constitute a support for the initiation of an intervention program for the personal development of adolescents
