PEDAGOGICAL PERSPECTIVE ONILL-DEFINED MATHEMATICAL PROBLEMS: doi>10.24250/jpe/2/2021/JM/IR

    No full text
Traditionally teaching mathematics in schools is based primarilyon well-posed problems. Intuitively, there is a clear differencebetween them and ill-defined problems. Research in the fieldof problem-solving is often based on the analysis ofprocedures for solving incompletely posed problems (i.e. illdefinedproblems) because they are expected to provide adeeper insight into mathematical abilities as well as theability of critical and creative thinking of respondents. However, ill-defined problems are scarcely explored as amain subject of interest. This paper aims to investigate theplace of those types of problems in teaching mathematics. Asa context of the investigation, we consider variousclassifications of math problems. Three classifications ofmathematical problems with a "pedagogical perspective" areelected to be analyzed using the theoretical epistemologicalmethod of comparative analysis. All three classificationsconsider the position of participants in problem-solving,teacher and students. As a result of the analysis, we create acomparison of the spectrums of problems, particularlypaying attention to ill-defined problems in them. Thediscussion finishes addressing the place and purpose of usingill-defined problems in mathematics instructions

Language disorders are a problem of preschool age. The article makes an incursion on language disorders, describes the factors that condition their appearance, presents the classification of language disorders by authors in the field, the influence of language disorders on the child's personality, the need to advise parents of children with language disorders. The paper presents the results of preschoolers aged 5-7, participants in the finding experiment, on the segment examining the ability to pronounce and determining the psychological age of language development, by administering the Examination sheet (taken from speech therapy practice) and the Test for determining the psychological age of language development

THE ROLE OF THE FAMILY IN THE SOCIAL INTEGRATION OF THE CHILD WITH DISABILITIES: 10.24250/jpe/1/2021/CB/DSB/FLV

    No full text
The role of the family is to support the child with disabilities, so that he develops as a person. The harmonious structure of the family and the involvement of the family in the care and education of the child with disabilities, as well as the social environment, have a positive influence on the quality of life and social integration. The proper involvement of the whole family (nuclear family and extended family) in the care of the child with disabilities, promotes the quality of life and social integration of disabled children. The involvement of all family members in the process of educating children with disabilities brings a valuable resource for the quality of life and social integration. An increased quality of life of children with disabilities and a good social integration are observed especially if the family is harmonious, if the involvement of the family is also high and if, at the same time, the family environment is urban. We generally observe that the results in the ten cases vary, from the perspective of the variables: family structure, degree of care for the disabled child (family involvement in the care and education of the disabled child), social background (rural / urban). Depending on these variables, we expected to identify their influence on the quality of life of the disabled child and on the social integration

AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOR IN PRESCHOOLERS, EXPLANATORY THEORETICAL SOLUTIONS FOR EDUCATORS AND PARENTS : 10.24250/jpe/1/2021/RIH

This article explores the meaning and origin of aggression in the early years of life. Eight ways of violent behavior are suggested, which originate in the early years of childhood. These include: the contribution of individual factors; the effects of broken family dynamics, parental characteristics and policies, the impact of exposure to violence, and the influence of attachment in relationships. Other influences, such as: aggression in relation to medical problems, the influence of neurological development, explanations of psychodynamics, such as aggression in relation to the reflective capacity of mothers, are also discussed. Aggression in the early years of childhood is not taken seriously, and is often considered to be part of the maturation process. To understand this fact, it is necessary to examine the central theme of aggression, individual socio-cultural aspects, versus aggressive behavior and the significance of aggression. The severity and frequency of aggressive behavior can be reduced by early intervention. In this sense, there is clear evidence, which attests in addition to an optimal psycho-emotional development of the individual, practically marking an improvement of the individual's life at all levels

TRANSLATION AND ADAPTATION OF THE MIDDLE YEARS DEVELOPMENT INSTRUMENT. ROMANIAN VERSION: doi>10.24250/jpe/2/2021/AB

The middle years’ age is a period of changes and challenges, dueto physical growth and motor skill development, cognitivedevelopment, and socio-emotional development (Harold &Hay, 2005). Cognitive development refers to how a personthinks and perceives his or her world through the action ofgenetic and learned factors. During middle childhood, children’s vocabularies increase, and they also develop theability to express intentions. Socio-emotional developmentrefers to understanding and regulating emotions. Children’sautonomy, their secure emotional development andpsychological well-being are strongly influenced by parentingstyle and disciplinary practices (Harold, 2005). The purposeof this paper was the translation, adaptation, and validationof the Middle Years Development Instrument (MDI) fromEnglish to Romanian. The aim was to assess the factorstructure of the scale. The methodology used was theExploratory factor analysis and we identified threedimensions of the Instrument: Social and emotionaldevelopment, connectedness, and school experiences of theMDI - Romanian version. We decided to validate thisinstrument on a Romanian sample, because of the goodpsychometric properties of the original scale, whichrecommend it as a reliable tool and thus helps the process ofstudying this age. Results suggest that the translated andadapted instrument is adequate and valid for evaluatingaspects of cognitive and socio-emotional development ofmiddle years’ Romanian children

Urban pollution is one of the most important causes of historical buildings' degradation, thus losing valuable architectural vestiges. This paper presents a literature review concerning the damaging effects of various pollutants on broadly used materials in constructing monuments and buildings, part of the cultural heritage

ZR(IV) MOFS BASED ON TEREPHTALIC ACID AND ACETIC ACID MODULATOR

    Get PDF
Herein, we present the investigation of a fast modulated synthesis of micro/meso sized ZrMOF,porous materials known as UIO-66, containing terephtalic acid (H2BDC) as organic linker using an excess of metal salt precursor and different concentrations of acetic acid (AAc) as organic modulator. The increase in the concentration of modulator up to a certain value leads to an improvement of surface area and a modification of pore nstructure by producing mesopores at the expense of micropores

TOWARDS THE CRITERIA AND INDICATORS FOR ESSAY ASSESSMENT: 10.24250/jpe/1/2021/VJ/MP/JDT

    No full text
In the teaching practice, the essays assessment is quite challenging due to their complex nature. Thus, to increase the objectivity of their assessment, analytical lists (rubrics) are recommended. From here, this paper deals with an attempt to establish general criteria, and to examine the criteria and the indicators for essay assessment made by teachers regarding their measurement. This research is a qualitative one, and the sample consists of several analytic lists made by teachers that refer to the introductory paragraph of a five paragraph essay which can be seen as an essay itself. Interpretative analysis, synthesis and comparison are the methods used for processing the data and reaching conclusions. The research points out that despite the efforts, some of the criteria and all of the indicators for assessment of the introductory paragraph cannot be made measurable and precise enough, primarily, due to the complex nature of the written text, which includes students’ personal believes, attitudes, ideas and writing style which are subjected to the teachers’ personal believes, attitudes, ideas and style. &nbsp

POWER MISUSE: AN ANTECEDENT FOR WORKPLACE BULLYING: 10.24250/jpe/1/2021/UCO/MPOI

    No full text
ABSTRACT Workplace bullying often involves an abuse or misuse of power. Bullying includes behavior that intimidates, degrades, offends or humiliates a worker, often in front of others. Bullying behavior creates feelings of defenselessness in the target and undermines an individual’s right to dignity at work. Workplace bullying represents persistent behaviors that are both overt and covert. Indeed, as a phenomenon, workplace bullying is now better understood with reasonably consistent research findings in relation to its prevalence; its negative effects on targets, bystanders and organizational effectiveness; and some of its likely antecedents. Workplace bullying is a problem facing employees and employers in Africa, however little has been said about. This paper is aimed at shedding an insight into the contemporary concept and to discuss the role that power relations play in this type of unethical behavior at work. Drawing on well-established theories and findings of various researchers, the concept of workplace bullying is systematically linked with how it can evolve into mental health problems. Since this concept is relatively new in Nigeria, the paper aims at creating an awareness of a social problem at work. It is believed that this paper will stem up further interest in the area and future empirical research will be reported

Family life satisfaction and their menthal health has to receive aspecial attention in the psychological and health literature, sothat the society together with the family can prevent thespread of the disease which have profoundly changed people'slifestyles and pose a threat to their physical and mental wellbeing. The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact ofCovid -19 Pandemic on family considering the onlineeducation being anenormous pressure for parents concerningeducational activities. In this respect,146parents havecompleted psychological instruments that measure the level ofsatisfaction with life, parental acceptance and the emotionalstates of depression, anxiety and stress. They also gavedemographic data which contain marital status, number ofchildren, working experienced during the pandemic, etc. Forstatistical purposes linear regressions were used. The resultsshowed that a high level of parental acceptance predictsa lowlevel of life satisfaction and also high levels of depression andanxiety and a high level of life satisfaction predicts a lowlevel of stress
